I didn't play this for long, but honestly? It felt like much longer. The story took so long to actually kick in, and through that beginning you don't get any choices, not even smaller ones affecting just the dialogue. So you're just looking at characters talking without actually being able to do anything. And when the choices kicked in there were a lot all of a sudden, and it feels like afterwards there won't be any for a while again. I didn't like the characters at all, and didn't feel invested in the story, so I just don't think I'll be finishing this, even if it's just the first episode (will there even be any more?). I regret spending money on this.
Well, it's just the first Episode but sadly the devs abandoned the game. So I guess it's not worth to buy. But I'll leave a thumbs up for the great music, art and short story. 7/10
The art and music is wonderful and the premise is very interesting. Unfortunately, it is merely a prologue to what should have been a bigger story, and the story will probably never come to be because the studio is no more. Id say go download Juniper's Knot, which is a free short visual novel made by the same people if you want to get a feel for the art and music in this game which are definitely its strongest points and see if its worth 5 dollars or whatever it might be on sale for another 2 hours of it.
You know it's gonna be wonderful adventure when in first 10 seconds you're assaulted by tumblr artsyle and no-sound no-music pinnacle of renpy engineering.
Interesting story, involved some politics and decision. I wish it had more choices and consequences and a proper continuation, new chapters. As it is it is unfinished and breaks abruptly. Also second part honestly drags on.
Here's where the ratings system of Steam falls apart because I would NOT recommend this game, but I would give it a positive review. This game is well written (if pretty linear) story with an interesting concept, that features some great illustrations. So you could say it gets the whole "visual novel" thing down pretty well. Unfortunately, this project is also dead in the water, with this first episode being about 2-3 hours long, and no follow up to speak of. The developer even disbanded in 2015. A shame, there was a good thing going here.
This is very hard to recommend with it most likely never going to be completed. The music is great and the characters and premise are all very very interesting. It's quite short, but at least what was there was entertaining and kept me engaged. There was a small element of choice, but nothing really substantial enough to encourage multiple playthroughs. It was a fun little experience overall. However, going into this knowing there were no more episodes available definitely ruined the mood.
A very well written story featuring a student and their mentor counselor from another dimension - descending to this planet to prevent fatal conflicts steaming from political issues.
