I know there is a cool game underneath with good content and progression but it's being held back alot by a bunch of small issues that need to be fixed. It's in a pretty rough state. I'll keep playing, but 90% of negative reviews are because of this multitude of issues that add up, so you really want to wait with purchasing this game until atleast a patch or two comes out to fix things. (Keep it on your wishlist for a couple months) If you want to play anyway, here is are some tips. BROKEN HAMMER: It's a bit ridiculous, but if your hammer breaks in the beginning, make sure to pass out in the mine. You will lose some money but you will get a new hammer for free with full durability. Get the workbench item asap, then you will be able to unlock a way to repair the hammer. LACK OF MONEY: Don't sell ores. There are bunch of containers in your base. With the letterbox you will get tarot cards. If it is a lucky tarot card you can open the crates and get a bunch of money. If it's an unlucky one you get nothing. I think this is how it works. STAMINA NOT FULLY RESTORED: Game does not explain it, but when you have used your health due to lack of stamina, you will need to sleep twice to fully restore your stamina. Now onto the problems: 1. Fairly buggy. It feels unrefined, like some extra polish is needed. Things disappear when you try to pick them up and some other entity issues. 2. Unfriendly onboarding experience. The game needs a bunch of tweaks for new players. One of the major ones is the information gaps. How do you get more stamina capacity? How do you unlock new depths? More tips on the loading screens are needed, and more info in the book. Being able to read tips through the settings screen would be nice too. It's not fun to work if you don't know what there is to work towards. Also, some things are very grindy. 3. Notably unoptimized. My pc gets 80 - 90 FPS at high settings in the first cave area. At medium, a few frames better. It never dips below 60 FPS so it runs good on my PC. (You do NOT want to first person games below 60 FPS) If you have a CPU that matches mine or is slightly weaker then the game should run good. If it's lower? Wait for a performance patch or don't get it. 4. Some texture issues. The lift outline sparkles for some reason. The edge blocks of the mine clip into eachother. 5. Game cannot pause. This is surprisingly a very small issue as runs are very short, in the beginning maybe around 5 minute runs. 6. A bit too slow animations. Some animations could be a bit faster. Particularly opening and gaining parcels from the letterbox, and the lift should open up, close and be a bit faster overall I think. Provided the game fixes most of the issues, particularly the unfriendly onboarding experience and the bugginess then I believe this will be a good game that people look upon favorably, and I will make my review into a positive as I sadly cannot recommend it for others to play at it's current state.

so im seeing a lot of disapproval how long it takes to get the game started, and i think that I might be the target player base because me and one other commenter have played for 8 straight hours. Am I saying the game is perfect? No, not yet, but like what everyone else is saying with a couple of simple updates and some TLC i believe that this game will be a masterpiece. All that being said i dont think the current problems with the game are mechanics or gameplay based, the issues are mainly QoL and other bugs and such, but for those how said it took too long to get going just isnt a fan of these types of games. this is a game of progression and that just might not be your cup of tea, but it certantly is mine! Mad props to the solo dev though and i wanna say a pretty good game over all
The game allows you a very limited time mining Usually the "Timer" before you have to evac doesnt get reached anyways because you use health to mine. Essentially making the timer unreachable because you'd take a stroll for a bit in the limited 30x30 cubed space you're stuck in, mine 2-3 blocks and go back up. In the end its disapointing that i can't recommend the game because its basically a loading screen sim equally as much as it is a game with actual gameplay. It 100% feels like the upgrade goals require you to have the ability to mine way more than you can to the point where it feels like i'm trying to grind currency for a skin in *name AAA game* and spend the next 20hrs farming for a common recolor basic T. Maybe the game gets genuinely good after you spent that grind and got the fabled "Upgrades" but I don't think i will see that ending personally. Performance wise it was fine, but loading times sure felt pretty long for how often you will spend time in them.
I can see the potential, but at too many places its undefined and hard to play (vitality being used when working instead of the already existing Stamina; No Controls Tutorial; Too small missions; etc.)
So, the game is rough around the edges, but the devs passion is evident, so I'm hoping, and banking on their ability to sand down those edges. It's unfair to rate it negative given the price, and I've already played the demo for 8 hours and this for almost 2. SO almost 10 hours. That's a dollar an hour. I have paid more for less. Now first. Gameloop is smart. Go into mine. Mine. Come back up. Upgrade repeat. It is very chill, but I do have some issues. There are a few bugs, well more than a few, but Nothing super game-breaking. More annoyances. Now the art style. I like the voxel-esque style for the world. But the hands had me confused for like 5 minutes. I couldn't figure out how to drop what I was holding. Turns out they were my hands. Just a bit too busy and complicated, it is hard to read. That also includes the items in the game. Like bolts, leather straps, screws, planks of wood. There is no pop-up saying this is a wood plank. You have to kind of know. I picked up this paper-looking roll with like measuring tapes attached to it. I'm still not sure what it is. Most of the tutorial is done by a book you can access, and it is pretty good. I may not be able to do something at a station due to bugs or an upgrade I don't have. I'm having this issue with the crafting bench(which, btw, the transition to the craft room is kinda sick; I like it). But I am supposed to be able to unlock chests I find there, but I can't get the menu to pop up. I recommend that each item in the tutorial book have multiple pages that state the base station, then the upgrades, and the features they add. Also, your mining tool needs to be fully broken before it can be prepared, and you can't have more than 1. So that's a bummer. Also, I am having a weird bug: I can't fish. But I am hopeful that will be patched soon. Now for good things. I have been looking for a game like this for a long time. I love the idea of going down, mining stuff, then running as fast as you can to extract. It is very satisfying. The two main things holding this game back are clarity and bugs. So if you're looking to extract resources from the ground to improve your mining skills, I think you will like this game.
I couldnt Even look around. Sorry bad first impression, Its a nope for me.
Currently the game is a bit rough, but I already made a bug report and got great response from the dev. Some early game pain points already got changed. I looking forward for the game.
love the idea, but the game is too clunky to recommend. Things like the window not filling the screen on a new run until I get out of the elevator and pause. As a new player: - I couldn't figure out how to relight the lantern. - Couldn't figure out storing items. I stored ores, and a large chest, but had to carry out a single box crafting components. Is there only 1 inventory slot? I was juggling ores to get them back and it would be nice if I could have scooped up an armful of loot and walk back. - I felt like I was spending most of my time waiting... wait for loading, wait for shop animations, wait for elevator, wait for level to load and then elevator to settle on the ground, wait for door lever to become active, wait for ores to break, wait for chests to search, carry everything back, wait for elevator to close and go up, wait for loot screen, wait for elevator to open, wait for ore banking, wait for sleep animation, wait for wake up animation, wait for cutscene of upgrade terminals to pop up. too much waiting. - Let me manually search chests... a scratch off minigame would be faster than the search bar... imagine dusting off the loot to reveal items instead of watching an animation. - let me hop out instantly when the level is loaded. - tool tip the empty lantern... is it useless? do I save it to refill? - Why do I have to sleep? Why can't all the ore storage be done after the loot screen? can i just wake up on the next day ready to delve again? maybe wake up on the floor surrounded by empty beer mugs? - why am i always rocking back and forth? am i a frog man with a big inhale? am i stimming? -empty stamina sprint zooms the camera out and stops movement... can it just make me walk? pushing buttons is the only thing can do, so pushing sprint to stop moving and increase FOV is a weird punish. might as well make throwing ores require stamina because I'd rather bypass running entirely if it costs me movement. The game is cool its just a feels bad man time. oh and the train sequence was laggy and the mouse speed was so slow I almost gave up. if its a loading screen or shader cache thing consider settling it outside of player input sequences. check my pc specs do i need an upgrade to play this game?
Horrendous Controls. Unplayable on release due to the controls just being THAT bad.
