looks fine, plays fine, but it's WAY too short. it's hard to see the enemy through grass and bushes but they can see you and they fire at you non-stop. needs more content. it runs fine because it's one tiny map with about 25 enemies. once you kill them. pick up 2 packages and it's over. 20 mins tops zero replay value

Auweia, das dachte ich mir zumindest, als ich mir den Trailer dieses Games angeschaut hatte. Trotz der ersten Eindrücke habe ich mich dazu entschlossen für euch dieses Spiel zu testen und im Anschluss zu bewerten. Das Spiel "Duty in the Forest" wurde vom Entwicklerstudio "Softwaves" entwickelt und ist ein kleiner Missions-Shooter, bei dem man verschiedene Kisten, aus einem gut bewachten Waldgebiet, einsammeln muss. Die Grafik wirkt zwar im ersten Moment gar nicht so übel, wird jedoch bei genauerem hinsehen schlechter, da überall auf der Map Grafikbugs und ähnliches zu finden sind. Die Steuerung ist ganz okay, auch wenn man manchmal an beispielsweise unsichtbaren Kanten hängen bleibt. Durch die hohe Anzahl an Gegnern sowie der knapp bemessenen Munition hat man kaum eine Chance, trotz der Zeitlupenfunktion und der Regenerierung, das Game wirklich durchzuspielen. Nach einigen fehlgeschlagenen Versuche, habe ich es dennoch geschafft und bekam auch dadurch die 6 Errungenschaften freigeschaltet. Die Sounds des Spiels sind ganz okay und der Preis von 3,29€ ist zwar in meinen Augen schon grenzwertig, jedoch noch verkraftbar. Was ich aber noch negativ erwähnen möchte, ist das absolut katastrophale Hauptmenü. Ich habe wirklich noch nie ein so hässliches und unübersichtliches Hauptmenü gesehen, wie dieses Game besitzt. Ich persönlich muss leider sagen, dass ich das Game absolut nicht positiv bewerten werde, da es einfach viel zu viele Bugs vorweist und im allgemeinen bereits am Spielinhalt fehlt. Duty In The Forest (aka Duty in Forest, aka Duty On Forest) is a CryEngine asset flip (very rare, obviously it's more convenient for scammers and asset flippers to flip assets for Unity and Unreal engine) from Softwaves/GamesBraz, who seem to be using multiple accounts, either to mislead gamers or to bypass various limits and rules from Valve on Steam. The game features the traditional Brazilian SoftWaves launcher as one of several easily recognisable fingerprints from these asset flippers. Don't let the nice screenshots fool you, while CryEngine has always looked decent, the substance of a game is just as important. This is a basic story/level driven FPS game loosely ripping off Far Cry/Crysis. If you want to treat this shovelware as a serious game, it's a very badly made ripoff of Crysis, without the cool story, balanced gameplay, non-stock assets etc. Everything here seems to be made from flipped stock Crytek assets. It's unbalanced and unpolished as you die quickly from the untuned enemies, but this is so badly put together it's not even worth trying to advance in the game. It's basically the same asset flip as Explosiver, Combatant, Obsessive Revenge and Rescuer... the "developer" here keeps posting the same asset flip with a different name onto Steam as a nasty cash grab. They've done this at least 7 times now!!! That's not okay, this is pollution. It's harmful because it's taking up space that genuine developers should have to market their games to prospective buyers, and it makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made, sincere games. There's a ridiculous $4 cash grab scam price for this trash. Avoid.

Amazing looking game but has a few MAJOR issues. First off, the AI is both amazing and horrible at the same time. It has the capacity to know you are behind cover and adjust but it also has unlimited ammo and godly aim. It can shoot through 50 meters of trees and shrubs easy with unrivaled accuracy. Secondly, the map looks amazing but has had very little thought put into it. To beat the hard AI the only way i found to beat the game was to avoid it by running around the edges of the map and using a health pack to run through groups of enemies. Third, the game is really short. There is one mission and its extremely hard especially without the difficulty setting actually working. In conclusion it is 110% not worth $4, save your money and go buy a mango.

I bought this in a bundle on Daily Indie Game for a video. Money well spent, I totally don't regret my purchase at all ! I even found the "replace me" zone, where all footsteps are beeps !
