About
The mighty Dahlan Empire is falling, ravaged by a mysterious plague and internal unrest. While surviving powers and invading nations fight among themselves, adventurers and mercenaries venture inside this land full of opportunities.
Create your character and embark on an epic journey, enjoying complete freedom in a true sandbox RPG experience. Everything you do affects the world and its people. All important events are recorded. All characters will interpret what’s happening based on their morality and their faction.
The game’s narrative changes based on your choices and the people you help, making your adventure in the world of Dustgrave unique to you.

The characters will judge your good and evil deeds based on their personality or faction. You may be a robber, despised by common folk, but selling stolen goods could kick-start your career in the local crime groups!

Factions will fight against each other, pillaging and conquering settlements. Some may become major players in the area. Others may be destroyed forever.

Create and customize your main character in every aspect, and roleplay your alter-ego in any way you want, without any external constraint.

Carve your own path, whether you join the Astralite clergy to fight against the heretics or steal apples from commoners! Many paths are available to you: criminal mastermind, righteous hero, ruthless mercenary, or wise archeologist.

Smash your enemies with a complex yet accessible turn-based combat system! Thanks to a unique combat system you can experiment with Skills and Items combinations. Find overpowered combos and destroy everyone stupid enough to fight you!

Use a stealth system to do anything you want. Steal something? Check! Assassinate someone? Check! Watch people sleep? Check! Pickpocket Marco during a quest and use his keys to rob his house while he's still kidnapped? Quite specific, but still doable!

A Unique Blend of Tactical Combat and Emergent Faction Dynamics – Dustgrave is a Hidden Gem! Dustgrave is a fantastic mix of tactical combat and emergent storytelling that keeps you coming back for more. Set in a persistent, ever-evolving world, the game offers a unique sandbox experience where factions and settlements constantly shift control based on your actions and those of others. The unpredictability of this dynamic world creates endless opportunities for strategic gameplay. The combat is challenging and rewarding, offering deep tactical choices where positioning and resource management are key to victory. Whether you're leading a small group into battle or negotiating with factions, the stakes feel high and the decisions you make have real consequences. One of Dustgrave's standout features is its complex faction system. The relationships you build (or destroy) with various groups can drastically change the course of the game, with settlements changing hands and alliances constantly shifting. It’s a world where nothing stays the same for long, and you can never predict what will happen next. If you're a fan of games like Battle Brothers and Baldur's Gate, Dustgrave will absolutely satisfy your craving for deep strategy and rich world-building. The game rewards careful planning and clever diplomacy, while still offering the freedom to approach every situation in your own way. Whether you’re forging alliances or conquering territories, Dustgrave is an experience you won't soon forget.
DO NOT BUY. The tutorial itself is broken and you cannot save and reload during it. The tracks you are supposed to interact with skip the dialogue on their own and do not allow you to complete the tutorial quest. This is the TUTORIAL and they couldn't get it to function. Don't waste your money. Even after finding a way to get through the broken tutorial, quest givers do not give quests, turn cycling doesn't function, all setting reset each launch. And none of this is to mention things like you build requiring an even spread leaving no build variety at all. None of this was tested and it is clearly a scam to steal your money. DO NOT BUY.
Worst written dialogue i've seen in a game in years... all combined with lame humor. Gross.
So, I bought this the moment it came out, played and got to the second randomized mission, which... didn't complete. "Okay, sure, early access, big dynamic world, I get it." Tried it again. New world, new character. Second randomized mission, couldn't complete. "Go kill these dudes", dudes are killed, but the quest was on "meet the dudes" even though they were infected. C'mon, guys - I know generated content requires some serious guardrails and stuff, but I feel like your QA process needs some... lots... of refinement. Maybe get it on sale if you're curious, but expect it to be a bit on the buggy side. Wait for release to see if they got stuff like this fixed.
Short Version: Overall I love the idea, I think it needs a little more time in the oven before it's ready. When it's done, I think this will provide endless hours of enjoyment. Long version: The experience feels like a mix between bannerlords and battle brothers, which is a great place to be. The challenge is in some of the current elements of the game, most notably: 1) Combat: Positioning- Getting into combat puts your troops wherever they are on currently. This is okay, but there is no "formation" or anything else to arrange your troops in a way that makes sense. The only current alternative is to go into turn based mode, then set everyone before the fight starts. This works, but it feels a bit clunky. 2) Combat: Switching between characters as you fight - The default mode automatically enables a setting to auto switch to the next character when you run out of action points. This results in mis-clicks, which can lead to accidentally moving a character when you don't mean to do so! I turned off the setting, but some sort of double click to move rather than an instant click to move would make a significant difference for combat. 3) Looting vs Stealing: I can't tell you how many times I've looted something and been unsure if I am stealing from the NPC's, or from the dead enemies! Some sort of easy to understand outlining (e.g. red outlining the crate/box instead of white). This sounds like it wouldn't happen often, but if I arrived at a map to kill enemies who have kidnapped an NPC, the NPC's I saved magically have ownership of the map, which results in me 'stealing', even though it was clearly bandit occupied. 4) Houses that are off-limits with quest givers - This has happened several times. I go in to turn in a quest or pick one up, and I accept the quest, right before a guard tells me I shouldn't be there and I have to roll to avoid getting in trouble! This doesn't make a lot of sense, and it is unclear when/why a house is off-limits. I can understand something off limits at night, but if I wait until morning then go, I still see the off-limits dialogue. Overall, most of these seem like smaller quality of life changes that could make a huge difference in player frustration. I think with the new map changes, a few minor changes to quality of life would help the player experience.
A very promising game with a rich world and real freedom of choice. Exploring and shaping your story feels rewarding and unique. It could use some polish—performance and controls need a bit of love. Still, it’s fun and full of potential. Can’t wait to see it grow! 💫
It does seem under baked so far, but what's here is super promising. Definitely worth the price to support the project.
Fun sandbox RPG that really makes you live your own story. Factions react to your actions and combat is enjoyable, with tactical and magical options that allow for different playstyles. The game’s biggest strength lies in its dynamic world and it shows huge potential so if you enjoy open-ended RPGs with deep systems (better each update) , definitely worth supporting them.
An excellent example of how indie devs can make great things. I love how reactive the world is to your choices, and how NPCs change their behaviours dependeing on the event of the world. A little gem, with great potential for future development. I really hope the game will be going well so the devs can continue developing and expanding it!
