DD2 took a lot of steps forward, but still has a couple bumps along the way. Visually and Performance wise, WOW! What a glow up! Smooth 60fps on max settings and visually upgraded everywhere! 1st impression was amazing once you get out of the tutorial. They tuned down the tankiness of boss enemies substantially (Thank God), but unfortunately they did not tune down the basic enemy encounters and you will have A LOT of them. I don't mind frequent encounters, I do not like each one taking over 5 minutes to get through. It almost feels like padding to extend the playtime. Unfortunately this has the same repetition problems as DD1. There's a traditional leveling system now, which I like, and armor you can wear to boost various stats. The exp pool is shared so you have to pick and choose who gets upgraded (You have a party of 4 now). I ended up only leveling Yumo to max level which then made the basic encounters go much more smoothly, and most importantly, quickly. You combo set does flow together better with the inclusion of skill moves, but it is still very minimum. It's still has the feeling of a Musou game but without the filler, hence that repetitious feeling. Another small gripe I have is the costumes. I love playing dress up in games but the options they have really don't make hunting them down worth it. All the dlc cosutmes should have been in the base game. There are 60+ costumes schematics you can find. ONLY 3 OF THEM ARE ACTUAL OUTFITS, and they are just recolored variants of your character's base fit. The rest are just simple accessories, (Tails, Glasses, Headsets). That was VERY disappointing and it felt like my time was wasted finding them as you have to re tread old areas you have visited. Which then means you are fighting all the basic encounters all over again. I'm someone who does not play games for the stories. If it's fun it's fun. DD2 did not change that at all. I tried paying attention but ultimately I ended up skipping all the dialogue. I also had a strange bug where no music played through my entire playthrough. Idk if this is a Windows 10 kinda deal (Thank you Michealsoft) but I played the whole game with just sounds effects and voice lines, which sucks because DD1 had some really good tracks! DD2 improves on DD1 in nearly every way. There's still issues with enemy tankiness, poor pacing, and a lack of a deep combat system, but I really enjoyed this game. I really hope DD3 improves on the foundation 2 has set, because to me this is slowly reaching "Hidden Gem" territory.
Yawen is my spirit animal.
Now maybe it's just been a long time since I played the first Dusk diver but to start I wanna say it feels kinda slower? In combat I mean but not to it's detriment, so it's basically a lot like the first game but more, what do I mean? Well for starters characters from the prior game that were just essentially special attacks are now full on characters you can switch between in battle, there are more areas to choose from and walk around, attacks are more accurate than ever which I highly appreciate and it's just an all around good time and improvement, I said about the first one with certain things improved would make for a game I'd happily pay full price for, well they've done it and to make me feel a games worth full price is darn impressive in an era of quick heartless cash grab games with barely any real meat to them dood. Okay now onto the more detailed stuff, so the combat feels more refined now as I said, which is impressive with the addition of more playable characters I might add, the devs even did a great job of making them all unique, protag is a balanced melee fighter with a wide variety of attacks and the lightning element (This may stop an enemy from attacking) another is a defence/counter heavy fighter who's slow but high offence makes them an insane fighter if you play well, their element is fire which...oddly doesn't hurt enemies but instead makes them more susceptible to break, (Will explain that one in a bit) the third character has wider ranged hits and has essentially a bleed effect on their weapon but also timing to their attacks let's you do more damage and adds the bleed effect on normal strikes if you have good rhythm and finally you have a ranged character, very hard to master as the enemies love to counter long ranged attacks with rather nasty attacks of their own, they could have toned that down honestly but it's not the worst ever, their element is water, this slows enemies down both movement and attack wise dood. Combat flows nicely, it can be difficult at the start though and seem rather long as enemies seemingly have large health pools but as time goes on you get much stronger and you realise they wanted players to use their meter more (I'll get to that too) it also want's players to abuse the break mechanic, this can be activated from repeated hits or knocking enemies into a wall, you get a heavy, highly damaging attack in, free iframes (invincibility if ya don't know) and it even hurts enemies close by, essential for the more sturdy enemies if you want to end it quicker, enemies have decent variety too, even down to how some attack, one set of enemies truly terrified me to face off against every time I encountered them for their ferocity but also looked pretty cool, it made you play in very specific ways dood. Thought I was done with combat? Not yet! For you see I haven't mentioned special skills, there's a decent variety for each character, again all are quite handy and in fact all can also be set as a support attack, on top of that you have a burst meter that let's you power up and hit for some major damage, especially if you fill the new meter up to near full as it let's you then use a real cool ultimate attack, of which all characters have, the combat is real fun when ya get into it like that dood. Next onto food! So food gives you temporary buffs or even immediate effects at times but more importantly you have takeaway food, I think the idea is great! The execution less so, buffs last five encounters, typically you will have a few more than that in a non human world stage but you can only use them in a safe area, which you'd think means just out of combat which would have been ideal but instead meant save points or the human world, it's not like soul crushingly bad, it just feels wasteful in consideration to how many you can just stock up on and never use because you need to hit a save point, you already have a fullness meter stopping you from abusing it and the limit of three effects so it seemed a bit much dood. Next up is equipment and gems, they are a fun addition, armour can have up to three slots, as well as boosts to your stats, real basic but the slots let you put in gems that can substantially boost the players stats and give some handy effects, the only real issue being some are much better than others and often cheaper slot wise at that (some can take up to three slots) for instance 5% chance of not getting a status ailment is just plain wasteful, if it stacked like EXP or wafer (the alternate currency for other types of items) equipped to other characters it would be great but it doesn't so it sucks XD something to keep in mind for any dev 5% is rarely a good enough amount, that said the 3% health recovery on enemy down is great when there are so many enemies, weird they got that right but not the other dood. Music is great, nice variety to it but it could have done with one or two more tracks for particularly impactful moments of the story, although for the most important stuff they had some real good stuff for as every game should for their end game content, the story was interesting and the characters were very much themselves which is always a good thing dood. The costumes like before have an okay amount, recolours although for each character now and a few new outfits for each but you also get a few attachments now too, they aren't many but some are better than none I say and finally there is a new game plus, which actually adds a whole lot shockingly, I won't say what specifically due to spoils but rare is it that we get more stuff to have fun with in out NG+ of games, it does fall for that dark souls style no choice on the difficulty being raised though, I've always been against not giving the player the choice when a NG+ should be a reward, not a punishment dood. The last thing I wanna talk about though is levels, they are rather odd, some stats feel more worth it than others and with the right items you can get them all to max anyway but at first strength will seem weak then later it will be oddly powerful and worth it based on upgrades to your weapons, most stats up health even if it's not as much as the health stat, then other stats raise important effects, it left me feeling it was hard to choose, that said there is a refund item so no need to worry too much there dood. So to finish I wanna say I'm super happy to finally play and beat dusk diver 2, it was a fun time and I'd love to see the devs do more games in the future, even another dusk diver I'd be happy with and in a ways they do have a lot of possibilities to add more D.D games in the future, thank you for reading and I hope this helps you decide on buying the game or not dood! Edit: There is one thing I never delved into because I never needed to and the materials were rare enough to come by that I never used and that's gem creation, so the gems are a neat idea, I like them, the gem creation...is either straight up busted or the chances are terribly low, I got lucky to get a rank 5 one which I'm guessing was the meh experience boost but my point is if you are going to make the materials rare enough to be a hassle to get the game shouldn't make the chances for anything decent to be that Gods awful, even if it's just random versions of that rank it would have been acceptable but seeing me use rare materials only to constantly get rank 1 gems is a big nope from me, hope the devs realise that's an issue in the future dood.
UWAUAUA Nemea funny, also game good
支持.
100等打30左右等還要慢慢磨 被打一下血直接噴一大管 更別提在打怪的時候是野外的敵人還會一直射飛彈 這等級系統是來搞笑的吧 桐人看到都會想哭
