"I was there, Frodo... 10,000 years ago when they first released Baldur's Gate." I've played pretty much every classic CRPG since I first got my hands on Baldur's Gate back in what feels like 1917, and I've been hooked ever since. There's just something timeless about a proper D&D party-based RPG. Building your companions, min-maxing your party, crawling through dungeons, scraping through brutal encounters with a tank, a healer and a mix of ranged and melee damage dealers... it never gets old. Modern games have incredible graphics, but somewhere along the way many forgot that story is what keeps people coming back. The classics built worlds that felt alive and let the setting speak for itself. That's why they're still replayable decades later. Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of those games. If you're younger and loved Baldur's Gate 3, do yourself a favour and play this and Baldur's Gate II. They're part of the foundation the modern CRPG renaissance was built on. As for the Enhanced Edition, it's definitely easier on the eyes than the original. The visual improvements are welcome and it still captures everything that made the game great. Unfortunately, there are some fairly major issues at the moment. The game occasionally locks up when pausing, forcing a full restart. It's happened to me often enough that it's become genuinely frustrating. The loading screen saying "Save early, save often" isn't just nostalgia anymore—it's survival advice. The party AI also feels noticeably worse than I remember. Your companions behave like a pack of suicidal Catherine wheels that someone's forgotten to nail to a board. They'll sprint across the battlefield, constantly switch targets, ignore obvious threats and generally do everything except what you'd expect a seasoned adventuring party to do. It can turn otherwise enjoyable encounters into exercises in frustration. Despite those issues, this is still an absolute masterpiece and one of the finest RPGs ever made. If the developers iron out the crashes and improve the AI, it'll be an easy recommendation. And if they don't... there's every chance the community will. Neverwinter Nights 2 has an absolutely gargantuan modding scene, and if history is anything to go by, the fans will probably fix what the developers don't.
배신자의 가면 엔딩볼때까지는 잘 했지만 다른 캠패인을 하려니 무슨 이유에선지 현재 세이브 하면 튕겨나가네요. 다 지우든 레지스트리를 비우든 아무 소용이 없습니다.
A very great game if you don't mind some good medieval fantasy style play. I know why the reviews are bad, but there is an explanation! This game originally came out on cd in the mid 2000's, and it worked back then, and still works today, even better so long as you install it right. Assuming you want to play online, there is a popular server that takes some minor installation steps to get it at it's best. It is a roleplay server, for adults, meaning no one under 18 years old. You can look up the server from the forum at: www.bgtscc.net And now, the Steam version is as good as the other versions, thanks to the Goat on the Discord channel. The community is helpful and friendly. My advice if you are new to roleplay, as someone once gave to me long ago, is to, "Look at the world through your character's eyes." It gets easier with practice. Hope that helps!
Unable to progress due to uninteractable npc's. Game should not be sold in its curent state.
"Mask of the Betrayer" campaign was a very dark, thought-provoking piece, the base vanilla campaign is also a decent good vs evil story, can see some genre defining tropes born here. Also featuring one of the most legendary characters "Ammon Jerro", obsidian makes good games. Voice acting is decent despite critique, especially Ammon's.
A little buggy and linear, but the plot is interesting enough to keep you hooked. NWN1 was better tho
Once again another game that makes me wish steam had a mixed review option. Overall narratively, and mechanically the game is a very well adapted version of D&D 3.5, from my time playing I have overall enjoyed the narrative of the main campaign so far and the dialogue is very well done. Gameplay wise I ended up playing a Cleric and found that most battles were more often determined by buildcrafting and pre-buffing rather than skill. This could change though if you focused more on playing a dedicated caster such as a wizard. The biggest problem comes from the crashes. This game is extremely unstable, I got around 1/4 through the campaign and probably experienced around 7-10 soft and hard crashes total. I found the best way to combat this is frequent quick saves, I found myself quick saving before entering and exiting any building or area. This is the biggest downside of NWN2:EE its so very unstable which is such a shame. I personally ended up installing Neverwinter 2 Fixes though I don't truly know if this really prevented crashing or was purely placebo. Overall I would give this a 5/10, if the game was stable and the though of crashing wasn't constantly at the back of my mind I would easily give it an 8/10, but the 5/10 is deserved for how unstable this was and labeled as an Enhanced Edition. Pro-tip: if your game is stuck paused press Alt+Space to unpause it. This issue happened to me a lot when I was tabbing out. Additionally there is no way to disable pause on tab out, I even tried inputting the old setting into the INI and it did not work. Additionally if your game pauses and this method does NOT work, you have soft crashed.
I personally needed cloud save.
