Great game, more loot, fun and progression than your typical arpg hack&slash (D4, PoE and the like). And you don't have to click every mob. Win - Win.
TLDR. I would probably skip this game and find another autobattler or rogue-like for your $5 After 100% the achievements, I just stopped playing the game. I did fall asleep with the game still open a few times. I felt there was only a handful of lines that will get to the final boss on the highest difficulties, and you need luck to keep rolling the same ability sets later on. I'm pretty sure it is because of how much the stat system is percentage-based. It's very easy to fall behind in power if you get a worthless bonus from a ? room; but you can gamble on the event once you learn what the options are. You should spend your first couple floors fighting as much as possible to afford some early gear before you die.

played first run, chose to follow the "vanguard" subroute. clear the first 5 floors with relative ease. get stronger. exponentially. 90% damage reduction on hit (amour) 80% chance to avoid being hit (evade) 80% chance to reduce damage by 80% again on hit (block) gain more crit chance and damage as you attack gain bleed chance and damage per attack gain attack speed as you attack gain more amour as you attack gain heath on hit 50% life steal become god.
Looking for a strategy game that's simple enough to play even when you're tired and/or inebriated? Look no further, download the demo and give it a try. It will reveal the entire scope of what to expect if you decide to buy the game. Straightforward skill & item choices, paired with minimal randomization of monster difficulty, makes for a fun, casual dungeon-crawling experience. Skills & items do exactly what they say they do, and the level of complexity is low enough that everything works correctly (as far as I can tell, anyway). I'm 15 hours in and going back for more. Also, a tip: Focus your passive skill selections on acquiring a few powerful synergy bonuses.
It's slay the spire but without card mechanics, and without combat decisions. Which, to me, is GREAT It comes up a little short on strategic decision making and maybe it could use a few more mechanics to be a really good experience. The UI works but lacks some QoL....like I'd suggest to the dev, for a skill upgrade, put the changed part of the skill text in a different color so I'm not staring at the text scratching my head for 30 seconds trying to figure out how it's different. There's also some stuff unexplained, like "delay". Skills have a "delay" on them. In an endless run I got my skill cooldown reduction to be capped and apparently delay means they can't cast other skills for a time after casting, because I went from spamming spells to just spamming fireball since the CD was shorter than the delay. Could've planned a better endless build in advance if the game had told me what it was ahead of time. The maximum combat speed could be a little faster, considering most combats are "start the combat and wait" and the only decision to make in combat is use potions or don't. The price is correct. This dev knows what he's able to produce and he's being fair about it.
Fun little time waster.
