This game seemed fun at first but I cannot recommend it. The RNG is unforgiving and I feel the game is designed in such a way that you must die repeatedly to get stronger to actually progress. You maintain levels between deaths and gain perks to make your next runs easier. It's not fun and I feel like it isn't respecting my time as I play. I don't think it's beyond fixing currently, but with how the game is in it's current state I do not recommend.
I actually liked the game. I would like to see more complexity and character build. The game is awfully short as well. Took me 6 hours to play thru and win. Only 4 levels progress thru. There is no replayabilty. I have a nvidia 1080 and it pegged the gpu at %100, the game is not that graphic intensive so unsure what that is happening. I am recommending the game if you like dungeon crawling and do not mind spending 5.99 for 6 hours of game play. I would give the game a 5 on the scale of 1-10.
I have been playing table top since the 80's and have done many computer D&D games, I want to like this game, but I think going back to the start of the game every time you die is ridiculous. Take the play back to the beginning of the level is punishment enough, not all the way back to the start. I don't even mind loosing some of the weapons I have won to some degree either, but you need an incentive to keep going. There is no real character building either if you don't pick a perk the first time it keeps coming back up until you do have to pick it because there is not other choice. You can't even name your character to personalise it. Another issue is even on sneak mode (a perk in this game) should mean you get a free shot at someone, but 90% of the time you miss - you have the sneak advantage, to miss that often it just feels bad coding. I know it is a basic game, but there is basic and then there is very basic, this is the latter
This is an awesome simple "rougelike" that can be played and finished over the course of a lunch break or two. Graphics are cutesy 3D and adds to the boardgame feel of the game.
Edit Review: aaawwwww much better and do love the game!
What a nice little game, specially because I die a lot I seem to improve quite fast, which is really the trick with it. Love the art style and am eager to see what other weapons and stuff I will find in the other dungeons :)
EDIT: Wow, after the update the game improved and is even more anjoyable than before, as I hated starting over as well ;-) At first I was a bit disappointed because it felt very random if I could clear a room or not, but then I realized that the puzzle is based on the order in which you enter the rooms and leaves and which perks you choose :) The goal is not the single room but rather how to progress ... In the beginning you have to get used to it, but then it's a real challenge. Small but fine casual game, when I'm done I'll probably wish for more weapons, more loot and above all at least a little choose your own adventuire story line. Cool game, I am up for the challenge to beat it!
I bought this game, and i did have fun with it. But sadly i put in on medium and beat it first run, I cant really recommend buying it sadly. Once you get a few levels there's really nothing to stop you from steam rolling everything. I really like this concept of game and i hope the dev makes more games like this, or updates this one. But its been 2 years since the game came out so probably not.
it looks very fun, it is in fact not fun at all. The dice rolls are ridiculous. you walk into a room, and have the real chance of dying within 2 turns. and not dark souls hard, like you dont get a choice, you just die. This is not how games should be played. You should have the ability to react. But when you miss 3 - 83% chance to hit attacks, then are immediately killed by 2 archers who hit you 3 times in a row at 11%. this is not balanced properly, and even for 6 bucks, is not worth the frustration that it brings.
cool, defeated all difficulties. The game is simple, will not take too much of your time and is fairly priced for the experience.
