Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
This is an experimental game and the experiment is to see if Steam gamers will pay $5 USD for disgusting AI slop. The whole game was vibe-coded (with stolen trained AI data ripped off from other people's projects) and AI slop assets (made with models trained from unauthorized copyright infringing training from other people's copyrighted assets) and the developer barely got this to work and now expects you to give them money for ChatGPT. This should never be allowed, it's a disgusting insult to gamers and real content creators everywhere. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. These flaws make this game fall far short of the professional standards we expect from a modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. Should you buy this game? Is it among the best the Steam catalogue has to offer? Dude The Dark Agent has the preposterous price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Warhammer: Vermintide 2", "Far Cry 3" or "Rainbow 6 Siege". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. The use of AI slop is an insult to gamers and genuine content creators everywhere. Because the AI models the developer used were trained without permission in breach of international copyright law, the developer is trying to indirectly profit from this copyright infringment.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. AI models are trained on copyrighted intellectual property without permission from the owners.
Dude The Dark Agent is a retro-inspired first-person shooter developed and published by ismail Ozel Games. Designed around the spirit of classic 1990s action titles, the game combines fast-paced combat, simple progression systems, and a nostalgic visual style powered by a raycasting engine. Rather than chasing modern realism, it embraces an old-school approach that focuses on straightforward shooting, exploration, and arcade-like fun. The result is a game that feels intentionally vintage while incorporating a handful of modern conveniences that broaden its appeal. The core gameplay revolves around battling hostile soldiers across jungle-themed environments packed with ancient relics, statues, hidden pathways, and collectible treasures. The level design emphasizes movement and combat over narrative complexity, encouraging players to push forward while searching for resources and secrets. This old-fashioned design philosophy works well because it keeps the action flowing at a steady pace. Players are rarely distracted by lengthy story sequences, allowing the shooting mechanics to remain the central focus throughout the experience. Combat is supported by a compact but effective arsenal that includes a shotgun, AK-47, Uzi, and knife. Each weapon has a clear purpose and helps create variety during encounters. The shotgun excels in close-range engagements, the AK-47 offers dependable all-around performance, and the Uzi provides rapid-fire pressure against groups of enemies. Although the weapon selection is not particularly large, it is balanced in a way that keeps firefights engaging. The game understands that a smaller arsenal can still be enjoyable when every weapon feels useful. One of the more interesting additions is the progression system built around collecting gold and diamonds. These resources can be spent on upgrades that improve health, armor, weapon power, and item drop rates. This feature gives players a tangible sense of advancement that extends beyond simply clearing levels. The upgrade mechanics are easy to understand and provide motivation to continue exploring every corner of the game's maps. Combined with an in-game shop where players can purchase ammunition and survival items, the progression loop adds welcome depth to an otherwise straightforward shooter formula. Visually, the game succeeds in creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The raycasting technology immediately evokes memories of early first-person shooters while maintaining enough polish to feel accessible to modern players. The jungle settings are colorful and distinctive, and the inclusion of ancient structures and environmental decorations prevents the scenery from becoming overly repetitive. While the graphics are intentionally simple, they fit the game's identity perfectly and reinforce its retro charm. A major highlight is the local split-screen multiplayer mode that supports up to four players. In an era where many games focus almost exclusively on online features, the inclusion of couch multiplayer feels refreshing. Friends can jump into the action together using gamepads, creating a social experience that recalls classic console gaming sessions. This feature significantly increases replay value and helps the game stand out among other independent retro shooters that often focus solely on single-player content. The built-in level editor is another strong addition. Players can construct their own maps, place enemies and objects, and customize environments according to their preferences. The automatic map generation options make the tool accessible even to those with little design experience. This feature extends the lifespan of the game by encouraging experimentation and community creativity. For players who enjoy creating content as much as playing it, the editor adds meaningful value beyond the main gameplay experience. Additional systems such as combo rewards for consecutive headshots and a collection of Steam achievements provide extra objectives for dedicated players. These mechanics reward skillful play and encourage replayability without becoming intrusive. The headshot combo system in particular adds excitement to combat by rewarding accuracy and maintaining momentum during firefights. Despite its strengths, Dude The Dark Agent does have limitations. Players searching for a rich narrative, highly advanced enemy behavior, or cutting-edge presentation may find the experience relatively simple. The game is clearly aimed at fans of classic shooters rather than those seeking cinematic storytelling or deep tactical gameplay. However, its simplicity is also one of its advantages, as it remains focused on delivering accessible action without unnecessary complexity. Overall, Dude The Dark Agent succeeds as a nostalgic shooter that understands exactly what it wants to be. Its combination of retro visuals, satisfying gunplay, character progression, local multiplayer support, and level creation tools creates a package with plenty of entertainment value for fans of old-school action games. While it does not reinvent the genre, it offers enough content and charm to make it a worthwhile experience for players who appreciate classic FPS design and uncomplicated fun. Rating: 6/10
