I feel the same way about this game as I did for Caravan SandWitch, which is that it is perfectly fine, but highly repetitive and simple. Explore, mine resources, and acquire upgrades with resources, all while finding side quests which also have you exploring and mining resources. That is, at least for the first half of the game. What I mentioned so far mostly covers the demo, which is the same as the area you explore at the beginning of the full game. Once you progress past the demo area, you get some opportunities for other minigames, though these are also simple and use abilities you already have unlocked at that point in the game. It ultimately is still search, mine, upgrade, side quest, repeat. No enemies, puzzles, or other meticulous gameplay elements. Like Caravan SandWitch, this is an easy recommend for a child or someone who wants a very easygoing experience that only takes a few hours. But I also thought of Pikuniku when playing this game, as it equally felt underdeveloped and under polished. I had some bugs regarding the achievements and other challenges, as well as one or two quests not triggering properly, but hopefully those have been ironed out by the time you read this review.

Nice little game.

The game feels responsive, the quests are fun and not too complicated, environments are well populated with quests, npcs and things to discover. Great for anyone looking for a fun casual adventure with a very cute main protagonist! Devs gave me the copy to try out but I was going to buy this myself before that, and I still 100% would if I wasn't gifted a copy! Great fun!

What a cute game about a duck finding it's place in the universe. The dev even helped me figure out how to get the last achievement I needed, which was very nice. Thank you, we need more games like this in our lives, reminding us to slow down and enjoy the present. Short and sweet

Duck Side of the Moon is such a wonderful cozy game. You get to play as a cute duck that you even get to customize more and more the further you progress. It’s so fun to help with the quests for all of the adorable NPCs. I love the storyline. I really enjoy watching the ship get repaired and being able to upgrade my equipment! It’s also really fun trying to collect all of the trophies. Everything about this game is amazing and I look forward to playing even more 🥹💖

The best game of ducks I've played ever. With Duck Detective allowing this fact. It's a great cozy game, beautiful story where you can explore freely in the galaxies, relaxing music, the game encourages to be curious and it is a simple one. It has beautiful and fun art. I would play it again. You really empathize with Dough and its journey. The only thing I didn't like much was some things with the UI in the menus and some movements with the camera controls. Apart from that, awesome game, love it <3
