It's fun and has a lot of variety for replay
Genuinely one of the most fun and creative indie games I have had the pleasure of playing. This game has become something that my boyfriend and I play every single night without fail, and we are nowhere near getting bored with it. Its fun, it's interesting, it's unique, there's a ton of stuff to unlock and a ton of different 'builds' you can come up with, and I hope that the dev continues to create more wonderful games like this. 10/10
So its Balatro with pool... Balls are the cards, Tables are the decks, pockets are the jokers. There are some other added elements like your cues, chalk etcetera but its about managing success through probabilities. Its fun, its hooks you. Great for 10 minutes at the end of a session on another game.
Good fun, well made, charming atmosphere, 8 ball meets Balatro, right into my veins please
Fun and infuriating at the same time, in a good way. It has a bit of a learning curve but if you complete the tutorial and play the game foe a while you start to know what you need and don’t need to play well. The new update adds new sharks to beat. A good fun game that looks, sounds and feels great, I only rage quit 5 to 20 times.
I really enjoy this game, I find myself coming back to it whenever i need to fill a gap in my schedule and get stuck in it for longer than I ever intend to. The art direction, both visual and auditory, are stellar. The little colored paths the balls leave, the collision effects when balls collide at high speeds, the fact that each type of ball, ball material, and pocket type all make different sounds when hit/sunk goes a long way. Additionally, the game is quite fun, getting a good run going snowballs out of control very quickly, and a lot of the sharks provide fun or interesting challenges. That being said, this product has a long way to go before I can call it great, as much as I enjoy it. there's tons of little flaws and bugs, none particularly game-breaking but they all lead to a death by 1,000 paper cuts. some of the most notable are - the shadow ball/arrow indicators are usually slightly off, but sometimes they're REALLY off, by up to almost ten degrees. - the pockets are at least 1.2x larger than their texture, which can lead to a lot of unintentional sinks even when you're playing as carefully and precisely as possible. - you can't apply spin to the cue ball! that's like one of the main ways you perform skillshots in real pool, spin of some kind needs to be added. - while I do love the art and sound design, some of the artwork for the sharks in particular could use a little polish. I on the whole like the shark art but some like Juliet or Chomplsey could do with some extra love. - you can quit the pachinko minigame while balls are still falling (I honestly think the pachinko minigame sucks, you should just get three new balls per shark and you can spend $5 for an additional ball, then maybe $6-$7 for the next, and so on) - the on-screen score calculation can sometimes place commas in strange locations, like in the tens place or most notably after the decimal sign. maybe shorten whats shown on screen or use fractions? something needs to be done. - the "no additional rack sockets" restriction for the secondhand felt does not work. - the post-victory scaling is much too shallow, and on good enough runs simply will not catch up to your own growth. Runs will end if and only if you manage to score so high you underflow the score counter. - this game absolutely takes my computer out when it closes or crashes, enough to outright close OBS when streaming/recording this game. - there's no in-game crash handler or bug report option!!! So many more minor bugs i have encountered would be reported this way. I should not have to join a discord (which at least a join button for that is in the game's credits) to report a bug for an early access game! Don't let the laundry list of issues take away from the fact that I recommend this game, it is very fun! I have very high hopes for this game, with enough polish this game can exit early access as one of the best arcade roguelikes out there, but right now it's just a super fun one.
Super fun game. Incredibly addicting and super well made. I hope the dev(s) continues development for a long time!
Very cool game to sit back and chill and play if you like pool games
Game is fun, looks like a great effort was put into it. But I can't understand how to play it properly. After like 50 loses, with most of them on 2nd shark, I'm giving up. But it's worth a try, so it's positive review. Maybe It's just not roguelike-ish enough, or it's just hard rng
pretty damn addicting so far
