As a lover of the genre, I bought it instantly. Classic Walking simulator with some scattered interactions. Beautiful and detailed panoramas. I'm not convinced by the soundtrack... in some chapters I find it annoying (but that's my personal taste). Adequate price for the overall length of the game. My rating 8/10
I´m playing Games since the 80´s. And i think i can say that i played nearly every Genre out there. No matter if Action, Strategy, Roleplay, Simulation and, and, and. But sometimes i like it just chilling, thoughtfull and just drifting away. And here it Comes to one of my Top 3 Favourit Developers: Tonguç Bodur. From the First Game i ever played from him, i was fascinated of his Worlds. And here is the newest one of him. Welcome to DRIZZLEPATH:PICTURAE! Tonguç Bodur has a special Graphic Style for his Walking Simulators by which you can recognize his Games again and again. A style that makes up the special Magic of his Games. This is signed by good dubbing actors and music that always fits into the Situations. Games you can dive in and Forget everything around you for a short Time. Also in DRIZZLEPATH:PICTURAE. For me it feels like a Journey through my Dreams. Good Dreams and Nightmares. There is one Place in the Game, some Kind of amusement Park, that reminds me of Dreams i have since i was a Child. I´m still dreaming from time to time of amusement Parks or parts of them. And that was not the only Thing. There is a Part with Windmills, thats also something i Dream of. Nearly the whole Game felt like MY Dreams. And i love it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3364737796 There is a Little Story, more a Life experience Journey of a Woman with a very good Dubbing Voice. You walk through wonderfull landscapes, whether they look nightmarish or beautifull guided by Sounds and Music that fits well in. On your Way you will find Lightcircles on the Floor telling you Poems. From Time to Time you have to stop for a Little Hidden Object Scene to find Black Foxes. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3364739264 I said it in former Reviews and i will repeat it. For me Tonguç Bodurs Games are the Arthouse of Walking Simulators. It is so amazing to dive into his wonderfull Worlds and forget Real Life for a short Time. I finished it in About 2 Hours, but i´think you can do it also in one Hour. So, why so much longer? I like exploring Tonguç Bodurs Worlds and finding out About all the Details. Sometimes i stop and just enjoy the Screen for some Minutes, because the Landscape is so wonderfull. For me, it is one of his best Games, i love it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3364738352 The Price is absolutly worth the Game. DRIZZLEPATH:PICTURAE has also easy Achievements. If you want a good Action Game with an explosive Storyline then you are wrong here. But if you want to have a chilling but fascinating Experience then this is for you. A very big Thanks to Tonguç Bodurs for this new wonderfull Journey, that also brought back old Memories and thank YOU for reading. Alright. Drizzlepath: Picturae is done and dusted. This is one of Tonguc's more straightforward walking sims, and a pleasant experience from beginning to end. It took me 64 minutes to complete, and a couple of those minutes were spent looking inside houses just in case there were some puzzles where the necessary solution was posted on the walls. But there weren't any puzzles, lol. There are some hidden object challenges you will need to complete to advance the story at several points, but those weren't complicated. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365344078 So, if you have played a Drizzlepath game, you know that they are visual feasts where you get to enjoy some amazing looking areas assembled to match the story being presented. In this case, it is the story of a lone wanderer, told via the area transitions, and musings about the worlds she visits, which are told via poems found throughout the adventure. This was all very nice and very well thought out. And the poems were enjoyable to read. The voice actress for the area transitions did a great job, btw. She was really good. One other thing that Tonguc tends to do with his games is add a splash of horror elements, and that is present here as well. Via some of the imagery. Such as a path covered in worms or skulls, and some of the signs you might find in the game, such as a sign talking about what happened to someone who kissed a girl, lol. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365343826 And I think thematically, this also ties into something that I feel Tonguc always explores, which is the idea of finding a way to emotionally unburden yourself. Whether it is a burden born of loss, addiction, misunderstanding, or what have you, his games tend to explore the idea of not allowing these things to be a weight you will always carry with no respite. And this game is no different, exploring the idea of loneliness. Which is done by entering paintings and exploring the worlds depicted within. Which I think of as a cool way of putting into video game form the idea of actually looking at and contemplating the mysteries of paintings IRL. What was the artist thinking about while creating this piece of art? What lies further within the idea of the painting? What if that world was brought to life? Additionally, the soundtrack ties directly to all of this, and where past soundtracks in Tonguc's games tend towards whimsical arrangements, this game has a wider variety of styles being presented. One piece felt like the beginning of an epic LOTR style journey, another felt like something you'd hear at a theater as a movie is beginning, and yet another leaned into a cyberpunk theme. All were appropriate to the scenes they reveal themselves in and were fun to listen to. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365343971 I quite enjoyed the variety of locations available in this game, and the experience was both concise and pleasant. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy walking simulators. I've played almost all games from this developer, and I prefer the ones with narration as poetry isn't really my thing. This one is a mix of scant narration and short poems. Visually, the game is very nice, and I especially like the way the transitions between areas are made without blackouts. It's a clever way of dealing with loading screens. The music is sometimes a bit irritating, especially when it tries to create tension where there is none. Also, the cursor wanders on its own on the screen where you're looking for the foxes, which makes it hard to click on the smaller ones. The Steam page does not mention controllers, and in my library, it says the game does not support them, but I'm playing this with my Xbox controller. Everything is working fine, except for the cursor issue mentioned above, which is also present when using the mouse.
There is no way to JUMP, so you can't climb up the hills back to the trees or locations you can see but can not reach. INVISIBLE WALLS are all over the place, leaving you trapped against rocks - so you can see a city but can't walk to it. You have no gear and no inventory, so there is literally nothing you can do, but walk narrow paths. The map is lovely but it only has about a dozen nice views to photograph. The lack of jumping and no climbing makes the game unplayable. If they put the ~ so BASIC ~ ability to climb up, jump, and remove the invisible walls, so you can actually explore the environment like S k y r i m - then it would be nice. Stuck on a few paths with literally nothing to do and no abilities is not entertainment. Your player starts NEAR a Van, but you can't get close to it, because of another completely unnecessary INVISIBLE WALL. Remove the Walls and let your open world be OPEN.
a good Walking Simulator game. can recommend it. beautiful places and environment. very relaxing game. the price of this game is good.
⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡ I was looking forward to the next Tonguç Bodur's game. The aesthetic is mesmerising like always,
not a fan of the grubs on the floor though but it's ok I closed my eyes. xD
I like the attention to detail in the variety of flowers, it's colourful. Imagine playing this on VR it would be so amazing!I played a lot of walking simulators and some devs don't bother with flowers or trees, they will just use the same assets. I wished we could enter some of the houses/buildings to look inside. There's some shiny circles on the floor where you can read poems, it's also a collection related to achievements, if you miss anything you can go back to chapter select when you finished the game. Sometimes these shiny circle will also ask you to find some foxes.
Speaking of foxes, totally fan of the light coming out of their eyes.
It's the kind of game you want to go back to when you just want to be in your bubble and forget about the world. ⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡⊹˚. ♡🌙⊹˚. ♡
This game is a peaceful and beautiful experience. The visuals are stunning, the music is calming, and the poems add a really sweet touch. It has a lovely dreamlike atmosphere that’s perfect for when you just want to relax and walk peacefully through a quiet world for a while
Never before I wished so much this was more than just a Walking Simulator. The degree of realism, the variety of moods, the depth of immersion ... certainly a masterpiece in its niche.
