Review: Rather pleasant vertical shmup that trades the overused space setting for a car ride with your girlfriend while rocking a minigun at slimes and other presumably hellish or alien things. Xbox360 pad support is broken and you cannot shoot whatsoever with it. Playing with keyboard and mouse is at least playable but with the introduction of a shield, a nuke, nitro it quickly gets unwieldy. I liked the sound effects, menus were clean and smoothly transitioning, pixelart had just the right flavor for a nice retro vibe to it that did not feel like a cop out for lack of talent. Kind of disappointed. The experience itself is fairly approchable, especially at lower difficulties and mostly involve avoiding colliding your car's hitbox with foe's hitboxes while you shoot at them and collect the odd coin or power up. Perhaps the game shoots at you more aggressively on higher difficulties or at later waves but I discontinued playing at Wave 3 due to the controller problems. The road always goes in a straight line and the scenery for it is rather barren which helps identify foes but does not make for the best visual treat.
One-timer game as i call them, interesting and somewhat fun the first time you play, but that is it. Back in the day things like Epic Boss Battle, Knightmare Tower and so on were super popular and Drive to Hell is no different. It fits well into era of free browser games but it's time has gone and even then it was not interesting. Coop kinda prolongues fun for extra few minutes, but still meh. I would always compare such fast arena games with Tormentor X Punisher, which is super simple, short, basic and contains almost zero gameplay, yet is gives SO MUCH fun and replayability, it's just nuts. And Drive Hell just boring.
This is a retro pixel 2D vertical scrolling twin stick vehicle shmup with an automotive/cartoony demon theme. You try to go to a restaurant and demons blow it up so you have to drive in a straight line with you car and shoot them. I don't know why anyone would think that's a great game concept. On the upside, the game does work in widescreen and there's a variety of different weapons. You also get to choose the colour of your badly drawn 2D retro pixel car, which is nice. Ugly retro pixel graphics and a completely nonsensical plot are the introductions to the game. Then there's the janky control scheme and poor general look and feel. While you can use M+KB, there's no mouse pointer, which is just awkward. Overall this is a badly assembled mess and I don't recommend it to anyone.
Boring, poorly drawn, bad sound, literally a drive thru a boring hell.
Horrible. Why?
It's just Galaga.
Saludos.
It's an awkward SHMUP that doesn't quite come together as a game.
I really like this game. It is very simplistic in its game design but everything it does is done good. Drive to Hell can described as a hybrid between a twin stick action game and a car based scrollable shoot em up. The art style is nice and has a psychedelic touch. The design of your opponents and the bosses in particular is interesting. Beside of this the game has a lot of standards for this kind of games like power ups, different difficulties etc. If you like this kind of games you should take a closer look at Drive to Hell. It is worth your money.
Buen juego para pasar el rato, es un juego de naves pero con coches,se hecha de menos mas variedad de enemigos,el mando a dobles fallo en principios, pero se arreglo, en otros pcs no...una pena.
