I had high hopes for this game and after playing this it was pretty bad, in both a trolls fan and normal gamer POV. Here a few things wrong with the game as both a trolls fan and a normal gamer. Trolls Fan POV: - Both the Techno and Country Trolls don't even exist in this game, as Lonesome Flats and Techno Reef are not on the map. - Even if places like Vibe City or Volcano Rock City are in the game, the population of their respected trolls are not even seen -not including the Classical Trolls (that only show up as copy and paste in two cutscenes) nor Queen Barb-, as every place has just Pop Trolls populating the world. - It would've been cool to have the different leaders be the bosses and then have Chaz become the final boss, but that isn't the case. (It is also kind of weird that Dreamworks All Star Kart Racing (DASKR) has the leaders and their respected trolls but this game doesn't include them. Just saying) Normal Gamer POV: - Even if your not a trolls fan or you think I am complaining for no reason, the game itself is very buggy at some points. - Some character models look disturbing in some cutscenes (I am mainly focusing on John Dory or Branch as examples). - Some textures overlap one another or even some of the walls clip one another (it was mainly the final map of Vibe City that had these problems, but some parts in other locations had less severe clipping). - I like a challenge and I think the game should've slowly gotten hard but the game shouldn't have to get me rage quitting in Volcano Rock City (only the second location after Pop Village). (I did beat the game but I was happy when I defeated Chaz because I just wanted the game to end by then.) Indeed, this is only my opinion and there may be some good things about this game -as I still play it from time to time- but it is maybe only good if you are: -A die hard trolls fan like me -A guy who doesn't care if it has bugs in it and just wants to enjoy something -Willing to pay $40-$50 on any game EDIT: The issue of Pop Trolls invading the entire game was fixed, having the tribe's respective trolls species for over a year now (as of making this edit on April 9, 2025).

this game sucks dont buy it
As a Trolls fan, I can really appreciate the amount of detail that went into this game. Everything, right down to the characters themselves, and the arts and crafts inspired world, to even the enemies, and nods to both Trolls World Tour and its spin-off series, TrollsTopia. The developer did a great job capturing the Trolls universe. The game itself, plays a lot like an early 2000's licensed platformer. Explore around, collect items, some basic combat, a rhythm mini-game here and there, and different abilities. I like it, especially since I miss playing these kind of games. There are a few shortcomings, like I've ran into some bugs, and the game can be a bit confusing on where to go or what to do next. Overall, I like this game, does justice to the series it's based off of. Despite its shortcomings, it could be fun for Trolls fans. At least I'm having fun.
Not only is this game "not fun" and devoid of things to do with huge empty areas, but the game has had multiple glitches and bugs with me phasing through walls within 23 minutes of me playing it and also despite the models being sometimes okay, other times they look bad and the shaders do not look the best. The playability and controls are also horrible plus the camera will sometimes be stuck zoomed in. I cannot believe this large scale movie based game was released as a finished product, this is incredibly bad especially for the price. I am so saddened because I really was excited for this game and wanted it to be good. I am currently requesting a refund because of how unplayable and dull the experience and world is to me, even for a kids game.
I love the Trolls franchise, so the idea of a 3D platformer where you get to make your own troll really interested me. Admittedly I wasn't expecting much, but this game is incredibly rough and buggy. Still, I was able to have some fun with it...that is until it wiped my save data abruptly. Also, selling a deluxe edition of a game like this seems kinda scummy. I think these characters could have easily been included in the game, which is quite pricey as-is for what it offers, but were taken out of it just so that kids beg their parents to buy their favourite characters from the movies.
Game won't boot on steam deck Requires visual c++ to be installed 😞
