Wirm is a very cute and very short game (20-30 min), with a fun mechanic, but problematic level difficulty. No idea how climbing the first flying rocks is supposed to work. The menu has some setting that helps - unexplained, not pointed to, only a "hand-in-hand" icon and setting between zero and four hearts. But with it, I was able to proceed. ~20 min first/single playthrough. Then you can look for the alternative routes and buried collectibles. No guidance. The gameplay seems simple enough, but to me, the apparent difficulty makes me wonder whether there are movement techniques or not. The worm is very cute, and the tech seems solid, with very good sound design and fitting music, good environment variance, and environmental discovery. Store page says “tiny adventure”. Which I assumed to be about the small worm going on an adventure, not the adventure being very short. HowLongToBeat (community contributed, only 3 ratings) had 1.5 hours playthrough time. I would have been fine with that. Webbed, another title by the same developer, was over three hours. I didn't expect something that feels more like a (polished) tech demo. 20 min, with very little mechanics, seems barebone, even with cute animations, good sound, and world and level/section variance. I don't feel like the 6 € pricetag is warranted. That may be different for others, of course. I usually do my reviews independent of price, because price worthiness is very subjective, not only as an absolute value or when weighed against time spent, but also how everything else feels to and fits the player. I am tempted to give this a recommendation because of its cute and otherwise solid nature, but the confusing difficulty, where I think I would not have been able to progress at all if I had not read about the setting in reviews before playing. And that's quite problematic for a game.

this game is too hard for me but i like wiggling around as a little wirm
mmmm... worm (it's a physics platformer that kinda reminds me of "getting over it with bennett foddy"? it's not quite that unforgiving though)
wirm 🪱👍
Cute, wriggly, and surprisingly difficult. DO NOT LET THIS WORMY FELLA FOOL YOU! This game can be VERY hard or demanding of a higher skill level depending on the route you take or if you're going for 100% achievements, having to learn and utilize movement tech. The controls are very reminiscent of Bennett Foddy's Getting Over It, but more 'casual' as it provides an assist option (making sections easier) and, thank goodness, checkpoints. Without the checkpoints and assist option, it truly would be a Foddian game. Don't be afraid to use the assist option for clearing certain sections! Despite my frustrations and skill issue, I had a great time wormin'. I WOULD love you if you were a worm. Also, pausing and tabbing out can cause some weird physics with the tires, and sometimes FPS slows down.
