In a small tourist town a young girl, the daughter of the town’s mayor, falls in coma due to an accident. The impotence of the local physicians forces Mrs. Mayor to seek the aid of a psychiatrist, who is rumoured to possess a unique ability to traverse people’s dreams – a Dreamwalker.

To be honest, at first, I didn't think I was going to like this hidden object game, but it turned out to be one my faves. It was challenging at times, had a new mini game or two, and the story was interesting. I had fun playing. I didn't get all the achievements, but I'll get the rest the next time I play this in a couple of years!! Recommended to those who enjoy the genre.
Some story about dreams or something? I can barely remember this.

I don't remember exactly what I felt during the gameplay. H*ck, I don't even remember the story at all. I mean the last time I played this game was in December, 2021. But I do know that I did enjoy it. Otherwise, I would've hid the game. I didn't. I also crafted level 5 badge for this game so there must've been something. Maybe I'll pick this game up again some day. hahaha 😄
This was a good game
In the simple spirit of yes or no, I simply do not recommend this game. That is not to say that it's bad or unplayable. I did just fine and nabbed up all of the achievements in approximately four hours. I liked it far better than I liked some offerings from Mundi's other subdevelopers like Brave Giant, and House of Fables arguably made a better game than they ever have. If you've been around the block and still haven't played this, then fine, go ahead, but be advised that of all the games in the Mundi catalog that I've played thus far over the years, this one has the wonkiest logic and I feel it's a costly misstep in design. What I mean by that is most of the game design hinges on inventory puzzles rather than hidden object scenes (that's already losing some points), but the solutions to those puzzles follow some ridiculous adventure game logic that I haven't seen since the early 90s. For example, at some point you'll pick up the head of a doll; the natural expectation is that it goes onto the body of a doll somewhere down the line, right? Wrong. You use it to open a drawer. I'm not kidding and most of the game's logic is like this - you go around doing things because that's all there is to do and you amass inventory objects that are run-of-the-mill things like ornaments, canes, candle extinguishers, etc, but you don't use most of them in any conventional sort of way. They are 'creative' alternatives to something that would logically make sense. Unlike its 90s forebears, it's not difficult to eventually land on the right solution... it's just stupid. The saving grace might have been the story, but even that - while a noble attempt - is completely out there. You are a psychatrist except you don't do any psychiatry; instead you dive into peoples' dreams (coveniently hiding some of the moon logic behind the conceit) and solve their problems internally. I have no issue with this per se - I've played Psychonauts - except that the reasoning behind it all is as loosey goosey as the inventory puzzles. It's not entirely ridiculous, but it's also strangely uncompelling, though the game does get points for some really neat artwork behind the bad guy. Everything else you've come to expect out of these games is pretty much standard fare so there aren't really going to be any surprises here. It's a casual romp with a darker theme than most of its peers, but nothing too scary or upsetting, wooden voice acting and creepyish character models. The only thing missing are hidden object scenes; there's only a handful here while the rest of the game focuses on go to A, pick up B, use B on C. I'd rather play more traditional PnCs if I knew that's what was in store for me here.
Artifex Mundi really does the best hidden object games. The HOPs were good with an added (though not particularly challenging) twist of throwing in a few "riddle" objects. The other puzzles were pretty simplistic, but I prefer those over the random and frustrating. The story was respectable, and the voice-acting was decent. Overall, an enjoyable little HOG if you're into that kind of thing.
