🎮 Mythic Wonders: The Philosopher's Stone 🎮
Game is not too hard and has really beautiful backgrounds. There might be a bunch of items you collect all over the place... But it's not overwhelming. H.O. scenes are pretty spot on too. No crazily hidden anything! There is one in a Bonus Game that has all the objects that you need to find -> gem encrusted. They are all so shiny and pretty too! Especially the cute tiny lil ones... Like the turtle! Story 's not bad. Only problem for me were the Mini-Games (when are they not?). I am talking about the ones that have you do math. Thanks a lot. I can now be relaxed with some brain pain. But even so... You got me with that damn light puzzle. >.> WAH! I thought you had to connect ALL THE MIRRORS! Anyway. Not too bad. Had fun. Got to where I needed to go... Wonderful. Thank you! :3 :) =)
A pretty good Artifex Mundi hidden object game.
It's allright. Only reason I'm giving it positive score is because I enjoyed playing it and I won this game in a giveaway years ago, so I haven't payed any money for it. But if we're to critically discuss this game, I'd say it has lots of flaws. For starters, graphics. It was made in 2016, but other hidden object / puzzle games released same year have way better graphics. Sounds are okay, but nothing incredible. One good thing is, you can choose difficulty - which other puzzle games don't usually have - to choose whether you want there to be penalty for missclicking or how often you can use hints, which I think is a good feature. Puzzles itself are not very hard, but still takes brain to solve. Game gets confusing sometimes, but I think that's individual as well. I was stuck in middle phase more than during last levels for example. We need to keep in mind price as well when discussing game, which I think would be a little high if you're purchasing this in 2025, but you can get this game through various sites for much cheaper. Overall, I think this game is worth trying if it's just sitting in your library and you're unsure about playing or if you manage to get it for cheap. But it's not the best, nor something you have to absolutely play. There are lots of older hidden object games as well which are much much better in every aspect. I'd say try this game, if you are hidden object game enthusiast and want to play something closer to classic genre.
Mythic Wonders: The Philosopher's Stone, developed by Organic 2 Digital Studio and published by Artifex Mundi, is a hidden object adventure game that immerses players in a magical and mysterious world filled with puzzles, secrets, and enchanting visuals. The game follows Emma, a young woman who becomes concerned for her uncle Alfred after experiencing unsettling dreams about him. Upon visiting his apartment, she discovers that a portal project they had been collaborating on has inadvertently opened a gateway to a mythical realm. This sets the stage for a journey through fantastical landscapes where Emma must rescue her uncle and uncover the secrets surrounding the legendary Philosopher’s Stone. The narrative is rich with fantasy elements, combining a sense of adventure with a mysterious storyline that keeps players engaged throughout. Gameplay in Mythic Wonders is centered on classic hidden object mechanics. Players are tasked with locating a variety of items scattered throughout intricately detailed scenes. Each area is thoughtfully designed, challenging players’ observational skills while simultaneously encouraging exploration of the environment. These hidden object segments are interspersed with logic-based puzzles and mini-games, which provide additional challenges that test problem-solving abilities. The balance of hidden object scenes and puzzles ensures that gameplay remains varied and engaging, appealing to both newcomers to the genre and experienced players seeking a casual yet rewarding adventure. The visual presentation of the game is one of its most striking features. The hand-drawn environments are vibrant and meticulously crafted, capturing the whimsical and magical nature of the mythical world Emma explores. Character designs are expressive, and the backgrounds are rich with detail, enhancing the sense of immersion. The aesthetic choices, from color palettes to lighting effects, work together to create a visually enchanting experience that complements the game’s narrative and gameplay. The combination of lush environments and engaging art style makes exploration particularly satisfying, as players uncover hidden items and secrets within the beautifully crafted scenes. Audio design in Mythic Wonders further enhances the experience. A melodic and atmospheric soundtrack accompanies the gameplay, creating a sense of wonder and tension that aligns with the narrative’s magical and mysterious tone. Sound effects, such as subtle environmental noises or audio cues during puzzles, help guide players and heighten engagement. The lack of intrusive or overly dramatic music allows the player to focus on the story and the discovery process, maintaining a relaxing yet immersive experience. The Collector’s Edition of the game adds even more depth, including a bonus chapter titled “The Origins of the Guardian,” which expands on the lore of the game and provides additional puzzles and challenges. Collectible items and morphing objects throughout the game encourage players to explore thoroughly and revisit areas to uncover all secrets, adding replayability and rewarding careful observation. These features enhance the overall value of the game and provide extra content for those who enjoy fully immersing themselves in the game world. In conclusion, Mythic Wonders: The Philosopher's Stone is a captivating hidden object adventure that combines a compelling story, intricate puzzles, and enchanting visuals. Its accessible yet engaging gameplay, paired with a richly detailed mythical world, makes it an ideal choice for players seeking a relaxing and immersive experience. Whether you are a longtime fan of hidden object games or new to the genre, the title offers a thoughtfully crafted journey full of magic, mystery, and discovery. Rating: 8/10
I enjoyed this one quite a lot. Beautiful places, clever puzzling, creative Hidden Object scenes... What's not to like? Definitely can't go wrong with this game.
A lesser entry in this series due to blurry, dim graphics on the object searches and often confusing instructions on the puzzles themselves. I found this one laborious and was glad when it was all over.
It works, the puzzles and minigames are decent, and that's really all you need. However, this is a very ugly game that feels like someone made it after having "Stargate" drunkenly described to them. I can't even say it's bad or annoying, it's just "meh". The story is meh, the characters are meh, the antagonist is meh, the settings (though initially fantastic) blur together, and you will not remember any of this game in a week.
