Short Review
東方実在相 ~ Dream Logical World is a genuinely well crafted fangame with some of the most ambitious spell card design I've seen in this scene, but "well made" and "fun" are not the same thing, and this game proves that hard. The character roster and story options are a blast to dig into, and the Stage 6 boss and EX boss themes are genuinely some of my favorite Touhou fangame arrangements, even if the rest of the soundtrack didn't leave much of an impression. But the actual moment to moment gameplay leans way too hard on a sort of "you just have to know what's coming" design, and the bombs straight up not saving you when you desperately need them to is the cherry on top. Mixed recommendation, but I say you should lean toward playing it if you're an experienced player who wants a real challenge.
Full Review
I went into this one for a pretty specific reason. I had been listening to the Stage 6 and EX boss themes on loop for a while before I even touched the game, and eventually I figured I should actually play the thing the music came from. That alone got me in the door, and once I was in, I found a game that clearly had a ton of care poured into it on the production side. At the same time, the actual experience of playing through it left me feeling pretty exhausted by the end, in a way that wasn't always the fun kind of exhausted. The story and characters. I really appreciate how much this game gives you to work with here. The roster of playable characters and the different storyline options are great, and I had a good time picking through the different combinations to see how the narrative shifted. I know some people think Touhou fangames shouldn't lean this hard into dialogue, but I'm not one of those people. I like getting more characterization and more context for what's going on, especially in a series that's normally pretty light on plot. That said, some of the dialogue beats genuinely lost me. There were a few points where I wasn't totally sure what was being implied or what the emotional throughline was supposed to be. It's not a dealbreaker, but the writing could have used another pass to tighten up some of the more confusing moments. The music. This is where things get a little lopsided for me. The Stage 6 boss theme and the EX Stage boss theme are phenomenal. I listen to both of these tracks completely outside the context of the game, on a regular basis, and they were the reason I sought this game out in the first place. The problem is that the rest of the soundtrack just kind of exists for me. None of the other tracks really stuck with me one way or another, good or bad, they just played in the background while I was focused on not dying. So if you're coming into this expecting the whole OST to hit like those two songs do, temper your expectations, but those two tracks alone were pretty solid for me. The spell cards and difficulty. Okay, here's where things get rough. This is one of the hardest Touhou fangames I've played. Normally with these games I can work my way up to Lunatic without too much trouble once I get a feel for the patterns, but here I never even felt the pull to try. Normal mode alone was enough to wear me down. The core problem is that a lot of the spell cards and stage sections aren't really things you learn on the fly, they're things you're expected to already know are coming. The Stage 4 fight against Youmu and Koishi is a perfect example. The first time through, it was completely unclear how the bullets were even being triggered, and the whole thing just felt like visual noise thrown at you with no real way to parse it in the moment. From Stage 5 onward, basically every boss has at least one card or mechanic that falls into this same trap, where your first reaction to dying is "how was I supposed to know that." I've seen other reviewers point out similar issues with attacks that cram in way too many gimmicks at once, and yeah, that tracks with my experience too. The ideas behind a lot of these patterns are genuinely creative and you can tell a lot of thought went into them on paper, but the execution often prioritizes "looks impressive" over "is actually fair to play against." The bombs. This one might be a smaller complaint in the grand scheme of things, but it bugged me a lot. In most Touhou games, your bomb is your panic button, the thing that bails you out when a pattern catches you off guard, because it gives you a window of invincibility. In this game, the bombs don't give you that safety net the way you'd expect. Given how often this game throws those "you just had to know" moments at you, not having a reliable bomb to fall back on makes those moments feel even more punishing than they need to be. It's a small mechanical choice, but it compounds with the difficulty issues in a way that made we want to just close the game rather than push through. The presentation. The backgrounds in this game are genuinely nice to look at, and there's clearly a good amount of polish on the visual side overall. The artwork in general could use a bit more refinement, character portraits and stills aren't quite as strong as the rest of the package, but it's perfectly serviceable and never actively distracted me. Overall, this is a mixed recommendation, and it's a pretty specific kind of mixed. On a technical and creative level, this game is impressive. The character and story options are great, two specific tracks in the soundtrack are really good, even if the rest didn't leave much of a mark, and the spell card concepts are clearly the product of a lot of thought and effort. But on a pure "is this fun to play" level, it struggles. The difficulty leans heavily on memorization over readability for the average player, the bombs don't give you the cushion you need when things go wrong, and by the end I was more relieved than satisfied. If you're an experienced Touhou player looking for something that will genuinely kick your teeth in, or if you're drawn in by the music like I was, give it a shot. If you're newer to the genre or you want something that respects your time and reflexes a bit more, I'd steer you toward other fangames first. It's free, so there's no harm in trying it for yourself, just go in with the right expectations. 弹设挺有创意,但过于放飞自我,没有考虑到玩家的游戏体验
弹设:比太田顺也好😵 美工:国字脸😡 系统:打分要NM😵😵😵 总体:夯😡😡😡
unless your very expierenced and know when to bomb, or want to do a no hit run. i cant recomend this game as it starve you of lives and punish you for bombing.

HORRIVEL. Tenebroso, deveriam pagar para jogarem essa coisa
Quintessential example of the Diamond in the Rough... The developers were having a good trip when they made this game and If they had polished it it would be criminally good and one of the best. Pros +It's Free +Truly Peak creativity; It's like actually playing inside a TouHou dream... +Infinite continues (I know this is irrelevant if you are going for 1CC but newbies appreciate it) Cons - The characters move like if they were in a box when you want a circle (not fully diagonally) - Yes, the reviews are right: Your special place is not safe... I mean the skill that replaces the bomb - The maiden models were drawn in Paint without a mouse... but that is TouHou tradition - The first three levels are empty and boring ... But that is also TouHou tradition - The downright mind bending warp spell card and a couple more are quite unbalanced This game is super fun if you don't take it that seriously and a must try since it is free.
