Absolutely beautifully crafted game! I would buy any dlc coming out next. Very well polished game. And there is so much content! The core mechanics is very well put together. I love equipment and obtaining rare equipment is always fun to me. Something to consider. Keep going team!
Recommended Always & Forever Best $30 Spend. DragonSword: Awakening is the version of this genre that should have existed years ago. You pay once. You play. You earn the roster. You leave when you want. That should not feel revolutionary. In 2026 it does, because too many “free” games trained people to accept abuse as content. This is not a money-grab dressed up as an adventure. There is no character gacha. No constellation tax. No dupe system that turns your favorite unit into a hostage until you lose the 50/50 again. No cosmetic gacha that pretends a skin is a miracle because a wheel spun. You see the price. You pay it. You receive the game. Heroes and gear come from playing, at your pace. That is the entire pitch. And it is already more honest than most of the industry’s “live service.” Look at what the other model actually sells. Not a world. Not a story. A drip. A banner. A timer. A pity counter designed so you feel relief when the company finally gives you the thing you already paid for. Constellations and dupes are not depth. They are a second price tag stapled to a character you were told you “got.” You did not get them. You rented a weaker version and they sold you the rest in pieces. Then comes the rest of the machine. Stamina so you cannot play when you have time. Limited banners so you panic when you do not. Battle passes so missing a week feels like failure. Leaderboards and clear-time flex so the game never stops comparing you to someone who treated it like a second job. “Events” that exist to empty wallets before the next banner lands. Language like “support the creators” while the store is built to make low spenders feel late, weak, and disposable. That is not community. That is a funnel. It rewards the person who can burn $1,000 a month and 20 hours a day, then uses that person as the advertisement. Fastest clearer. Biggest damage. Full constellations. Look at me. The casual who logs in after work gets the leftover pace, the leftover roster, and sometimes the leftover respect. If you cannot spend, you are “not dedicated.” If you play slow, your progress is treated like it does not count. That is not difficulty. That is class dressed up as skill. People defend it with the dumbest idea in consumer culture: the more you pay, the more valuable the thing must be. No. That is gatekeeping inside your own head. You paid X, so X has to mean something, because otherwise you wasted the money and the hours. Scarcity gets confused with quality. A whale’s account gets confused with a better game. Extra power bought with cash is not mastery. It is an ego boost sold to anyone with more money than patience, and sometimes more money than self-esteem. “I am ahead because I spent.” That sentence should embarrass the industry that built whole genres around it. DragonSword: Awakening refuses that deal. No pay-for-power. No forced competition. No abusive FOMO loop. Optional co-op exists. You are not ranked into a shame pit for playing like a human being. You can walk Orbis, build a party, and stop when the night is over without losing a banner, a reset, or a social rank. That is what a game is supposed to feel like. Is the game flawless? No. Combat can be sharper. Quality can climb. QoL still has a list. Some systems still seem like they were born in a live-service spreadsheet. Fine. A game can need patches and still be the fairer product in the aisle. I would rather play an imperfect $30 game that belongs to me than a prettier cage that asks for another pull every three weeks. Modding is part of why this version of the game matters. Solo? Go off. Make the world yours. That freedom is a feature, not a loophole. Two lines that should not be negotiable: • Turn mods off in multiplayer. Other people did not consent to your load order. Respect the session. • Do not make or use mods that steal or skip paid DLC. Cosmetics and optional DLC are how this game makes money without turning characters into loot boxes. If you like that this is buy-to-play instead of gacha, do not loot the only clean revenue it has left. That is not “being a bootlicker.” That is not killing the thing that made this release possible. Mod solo like a maniac. Leave other players and paid DLC alone. $30 for this is not a luxury flex. It is a fair price. The market spent years teaching people that value means a $2000 weapon skin, a $4000 constellation project, and a $200,000 “endgame” account. That teaching was a scam. A complete game you can finish, replay, and mod is more valuable than a storefront with a map attached. DragonSword: Awakening is still underrated because too many players only recognize worth when it hurts to obtain. This is a game for people who want to enjoy the world they paid for. Your pace. Your party. Your night. No ridicule for being poor. No sermon about “just swipe.” No leaderboard priest telling you your 70-hour week is nothing next to someone who never logged out. Play it. Support it by buying it and, if you want, buying the DLC you actually like. Then go back to the game and play like the product belongs to you, because this time, it does.
Pretty much a single player Gacha game. We need more games like this. Please make more but maybe with different world themes and Eras like modern era or cyberpunk. Medieval fantasy is too over-used
재밋음... 진짜 해보십쇼 .. 스토리는 그냥 그런데 .. 전투는 확실히 맛이 있네 ...하하하..
DragonSword is a game changer compared to many of today’s gacha games. It feels almost like a better, modern version of Dragon Nest. At first, I thought it would be an online-only type of DN game, but my experience playing it has been amazing. I wish they had added full character customization, more outfits, and the ability to decorate and own a player home. Still, the combat is amazing. The boss fights aren’t overly complex, and the story feels somewhat similar to Dragon Nest while still being different and less grindy. The story itself is average, but the fighting is pretty good, nothing too over-the-top or janky. There are still some areas that could use improvement, especially the features I mentioned. Overall, the game is fun to play if you want to take a break from online gacha games and experience something new. It feels different while still bringing back memories of the old Dragon Nest days. If you’re a Dragon Nest player, you’ll understand just how familiar it feels.
Good game, I've played the demo before so I know what I'm getting into. It's basically Genshin without any of the gacha trappings and a better combat. You can get every character (19 at the moment and another 4 coming in updates) for free. The combat is fluid and flashy, with focus on combo. Juggling mooks into oblivion has always been fun and it's no different here. If you're tired of most gacha games' relatively static and overly cinematic button mashing slash rotation non-sense, this is the combat for you. Only for a low low price of 30 bucks. No FOMO, no mindlessly logging in and out to finish your daily chore so you MIGHT win that 50/50 pull nonsense. There's also no stamina, so you can grind for mats whenever you like. Get in, play at your leisure, get out. A complete package. It's neat. Other than combat, the world is fun to explore. The mounts are surprisingly fun to ride, and not every mounts are the same (They have their own stats and abilities). You can go underwater (it's surprisingly deep), fly, etc. Fair warning, if you've played other Open World gacha before, you might not be that impressed with the exploration since it's nearly 1:1 with Genshin (and all of its derivatives), so there's that. As for the story, it's so-so, the characters themselves doesn't really stand out, but only personality wise. Combat wise though, every character is unique and bring in something novel to the team. And since there's no need to pull, their signature weapons (karma) and their constellations can be unlocked by grinding. No more shelling out +1000$ just to max out a deliberately gimped characters made to force FOMO, it's fun. Overall a very good game worth its asking price. Applaud them from turning that mess with the publisher into a working product, and I really hope that they'll succeed.
