Dragon: The Game

This is possibly the most well known scam on Steam. The fact that it's still possible for the naive and uninformed to stumble in and spend money on something that literally everyone knows was never intended as anything more than a cheap splash page to trick people into buying empty promises is appalling. There has to be a point beyond which Valve recognizes that allowing something to remain for sale is basically aiding in fraud.

A few years ago, I picked up the game, noting that the potential. However, this game's developers seem to have lost interest and pursued other paths. I cannot recommend purchasing it in its current state. Perhaps if a dev comes along and decides to actually finish what was started? Maybe. It depends on how they do. That dev is *not* me, so while I wish this one well, I'm kinda sad that it is ending like this.

No. No. No. Bad. Abandonware. Basically unplayable. Stop reading and go look for your dragon needs somewhere else. Map terrain randomly disappears for awhile then reappears. Not that the map terrain is actually important. You can fly off the edge of the map and underneath the map. Hit detection is bizarre and unpredictable. "Enemies" randomly die, or not, for not obvious reason. Your "fire breath" is more like a fire beam, and seems to be the only attack that actually has any effect on anything. Flying controls are probably the best part of this game, which is not really saying much, but it provided about 15-30 seconds of entertainment learning how to get off the ground (clunky as hell but eventually managed it) and stay in the air going in a direction that I wanted to at a a reasonable speed. The RPG mechanics don't seem meaningful at all and are full of misspellings. The quests are boring "kill x whatevers" and provide no real direction or obvious rewards. None of the enemies seem to attack you in any meaningful way. If you attack the towns you can destroy the buildings if you breathe fire at them for a long time but they just disappear and keep spawning more humans even in midair. Until the game eventually crashes, anyway. Overall this is a hot stinky mess. I've wasted more time writing this review than I should have spent playing this game. And you have already wasted more time reading this review than you should give to this game. Save what's left of your time and go play something else. This is bad.

This game has been early access for the better part of a decade, and is *terribly* optimized. It seems that it's no longer being developed--stay away and do not waste your money. This is the game that convinced me to never buy early access games again.

Got this game six years ago. It appears the devs long since abandoned the game, not sure if there was ever an update. Definitely the type of game that Steam should not distribute.

Abandoned game

I bought this game back in 2014. There was a dragon, there were things to fight there was better rendering. But a few years later, what happened!? I've never seen a game become downgraded before. It was fine when it started. I tried with this game a few times over the years I really have and held out hope. But its been nearly a decade and things are still bad. Just take this game off Steam already since we can't get a refund. Do that at least,

I feel like its Criminal for Steam to allow early access games and STEAL your money... I bought this game in 2015, It has been quite sometime since. now 2021 I have learned that the Dev's of this game has long since abandoned the game... nearly nothing has changed since. I had contacted steam for a refund since the game has clearly been abandoned and they told me to kick rocks.. whats more frustrating is that they leave this game up for people to Buy when its been abandoned for years!
