Stress simulator. Great game, but probably not for everyone
I think they should remove stunned/etc from the game or add something so you have at least one pip not stunned/sick/etc. It's a bit much. I found the game more stressful than difficult. I also think the game might just be too balanced towards the fans / serious players. I'll come back to this and update the review after. I am a fan of Against the Storm; but this just felt a bit too heavy on the luck and you often just aren't in control at all anymore. I do wish rounds were a bit quicker.
I really want to like this game and has a cozy concept coupled with a deep strategy game, unfortunately it is very triggering and unfun at the late game. Early game to mid game is fun when you're solving problems. After 5-10 hours to get to late game, you have to prepare for everything preemptively otherwise there is no chance you survive. You need to always be producing the hope/health/heat all game, not once the bad event shows up because at that point its too late. I just lost a run because I got an unavoidable random event that makes 10 of my workers "mourning" and the only way to fix that is to bring flowers to the burial ground. I was in the end-game apocalypse final stretch and there is no way for me to get flowers, and I didn't need any all game (I was playing dwarfs so its even harder to get flowers). At this point its a death sentence because I lost 25% of my workforce, my important pips are no longer working, and I don't have the time to retrain the important roles. I was cruising all game once I got everything set up and just died due to a random event. It feels too random sometimes where it can just nuke your game that you spend 10 hours playing and thought you already won.
I really wanted to like this game but it got boring way too quickly. Then, I made one mistake and the run was basically doomed (I was pretty far in my run and did not want to start all over again). For me it felt imbalanced and at times tedious. Not really my cup of tea. Do try the Demo first, before buying the game. I should have done the same.
Savegame progression blocked by getting stuck on the doom scroll (cannot exit, could only force close, reloading rolled differently, so it is not even seed based deterministic. And still triggers the exact same animations causing the interactionless doom scroll). The demo was fun dot ages ago, but the game itself is a slow slog towards increasing disappointments. Could not raise the pipulation above 9, plently of houses to spare, plently of food. But with only 9 jobs, there is little growth and thus little fun but waiting for weeks to pass hoping for a baby. As I cannot continue and dislike starting over so soon in a run, refunding instead. Not worth the price of admission if they shovel out DLC for a base-game with such lacking gameplay and major game blocking defects!

Amazing game! it's hitting the itch for so many things. How did I not find this gem earlier. 11/10
minimalistische Grafik, aber unfassbar viel liebe zum detail. Danke für dieses Spiel
The easy mode allows me to have a stress-free experience. Predictable and adjustable, just how I like it... However, if you prefer to EMBRACE CHAOS, this is the game for you. You might be just calmly taking care of your village when all of a sudden idk a fricking METEOR destroys half of it and Young Peter goes on a KILLING SPREE. I still have tons to explore as I only played 6 hours, didn't unlock half the content, (the game belonged to an old friend). I still hope to purchase it someday and have tons more fun! Couldn't recomend it more: it's the most chaos filled simulator out there. You certainly not get bored unless you really hate ALL simulators.
Game is incredible. Music so iconic my eyes got watery when the title screen and OST played again.
