An amazing collection of classic DOOM games and DLC's, not to mention that you even get a new fresh one (DLC) called "legacy of rust", remix versions of all the soundtracks for DOOM1 and DOOM2 that you may enable at settings and it cost only 10€! It also often receives a discount at sale events ( I bought it for around 5€ at summer sales) so for the enjoyers of retro gaming it is the perfect collection.
SO, i have a lot to say here: 1- If you wanna play all commercial doom games and a couple extras this game is perfect for you as all of em are in one giant package. There are some changes but the dos versions are there too if you wanna expirience the game how people did in the 90s. 2- There is mod support for this but if you want to play mods and custom maps i reccomned you use fan-made source ports instead as not every map was built with this version in mind some maps you might see on the internet most likely don't support this if you're looking for a good source port i reccomend prboom+ for most maps but if you wanna play actual modifications of doom go with uzdoom. 3- DO NOT SKIP FROM DOOM 2 TO LEGACY OF RUST. please don't do that i did and did not have a fun time. i find that legacy of rust still needs a bit of balancing and be more linier cuz i got lost so many times and died many times too but some maps did impress me in terms of looks. Warning: i have not finished TNT, Plutonia or both sigils or the master levels yet so my opinion might change. Thanks for reading this insanely lengthy review ig
Classic Doom is better than basically any shooter made today, including the new Doom reboot. This is hands down the best way to play it. Deathmatch is amazing. The new "official" episode is great. Play everything on Ultra Violence.
Basically the father of all FPS games DOOM ! I have recently started playing the DOOM games and my only regret is that I didnt play them sooner. Rating : 10/10 Wallet status : Money well spent !
been playing for far too long and loving it! bob prince was a genius composer and brings the game to life and i never know it was actually 2.5d! the source code is on github, go check it out!
Sehr geiles Spiel und sehr kinderfreundlich, kann ich nur empfehlen! ;)
Honestly this game still holds up to this day and is better than most of the games we get today sadly
Look.. it's DOOM, it's a masterpiece so of course I want to recommend it... However there are already ports out there for free that look and play better than this so I'm just confused what the point of remastering it even is. And it would be nice if mouse look wasn't disabled, or at least was made optional. I know that's not how doom was meant to be played but I want to play it how I want to play it, you can play it your own way right? No.. it's got the ability to lookup and down in the engine but they disabled it. And if we're purity spiraling about the authenticity of the game why did you censor the Wolfenstein levels? Just re-enable the command to mouse look and I'll change this review
