Overall pretty good. The vibes are generally good, I like the lofi music and the effects. The background art is nice and surprisingly doesn't really clash with the character art. The art itself is generally good, but some of the CGs don't have the best proportions. The writing is generally good, but I don't like some specific segments of Sarah's route. You're kinda forced in what intent your character has, even if you try and play them as just being friends. I generally like what it's going for, but that did take me out of the experience. I enjoyed Maria's route the most and liked what Rose's did. I didn't notice that the game only had 3/5 routes available so far, so I was a little upset when I couldn't seemed to get them. However, seeing it now I'm excited for when they come out. Over all, I would recommend it. If you want to see the writing I believe a scene exists on itch.io as a demo. I don't think it's in the game, but it does provide a good test to see if you'll like the writing or not. Edit: Thinking about it, I do really like this game. It's one that makes me think. It's very 'sticky', I can't get it completely out of my head.
This game made me relive all of my relationship trauma. 10/10 As the title suggests this game does capture the nastier parts of romance. Some people aren't gonna like you, some people have complicated situations and some people are actively malicious. It's funny, the entire time I was playing I kept hoping for things to resolve themselves in a happy way despite knowing it wasn't that kind of narrative. I think that is proof of the writing quality.
I'm gonna need therapy after playing Rose's route. Great game, tho!
Very fun visual novel I first found out about in an itch.io bundle, well worth the buy
Overall, I thought it was good! - I like all the VHS-related stuff it had going on (visual effects, UI, etc.) - Without spoiling, I like how the game uses the medium to realistically portray the feeling/situation of not so great relationships and their affect on you - I liked how the title played some sort of role in the route in different ways - The music was nice, very relaxing - The backgrounds felt very college-esque and nostalgic - The writing was generally good I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but you definitely are playing someone that you are not (in the sense that you only have so many options in some routes), I don't think it's a bad thing though, it seems like more a reflection of not helping being young and immature and making bad choices
I played the proof of concept for this game back in 2020 and backed it on Kickstarter. I really enjoy it. Most of the game has a really comfy atmosphere (most of the time, no spoilers) thanks to the music and the backgrounds made with real photographs. I enjoy using visual novels as a way to kind of vicariously relive a different version of my younger days and this game hits that very specific spot for me. The story and characters aren't mind-blowing, but the game hits a lot of very specific spots on my brain that makes it really endearing to me. My biggest criticism is that the character art is very inconsistent. The style sometimes changes wildly during CG scenes, and some characters (especially Kickstarter backer characters) look completely out of place next to the character models of the main characters. I'm looking forward to the last couple routes being added to the game and eventually this guy's next project.
I liked this game quite a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and mostly enjoyed the routes out so far. Out of all the routes Sarah's route was the most emotional in my opinion.
Rose's route is definitely something but well written for what it is
Rose's route...I CAN FIX HER PLEASE
Honestly I loved the whole experience from start to finish, I could never get into most Dating Sims (if you could call this one) because they felt so cliched. This one felt very down to earth and I could relate to some of the situations our MC could find them self in.
