About
There is a mountain that towers over a wasteland.
.
Schubert never has had any interest in much other than sleeping and barricading himself in trash, until the sanctity of his garbage dump is disturbed by a violent woodland dog. So, Schubert decides to try to find a solution to his dog issues. On his zig zagging travels he meets locals to the towering mountain, and they have one message about the curious landmark… DON'T GO UP THERE.

The game is called Don't Go Up There, but it actually makes you go up there. Developer didn't think it through very well.
An acid trip is essentially the subjective, often intense mental and sensory experience caused by LSD, shaped by the user’s mindset and surroundings. It can be profound, disorienting, pleasurable, or frightening depending on many factors. Some of its characteristics are: * Hallucinations & visual distortions: geometric patterns, fractals, or altered environments. * Altered sense of time: minutes may feel like hours. * Emotional intensity: rapid shifts between euphoria, introspection, anxiety, or fear. * Influence of “set and setting”: mood, expectations, and environment strongly shape the experience. And this is a ~30 minute weird game where you only use arrows/WASD and E to explore.
Don't Go Up There is the bad trip I didn't know I needed on a Sunday morning. Schubert's story oozes personality in the tight 30ish minutes it takes to experience. The gameplay is simple and a catalyst to progress through unraveling the experience. This isn't your typical run here, shoot this, fetch that, type of game. Granted if you're one of the wandering souls that happens to come by this obscure gem (howdy!), you probably know that. Hand-drawn art is groovy, audio is wavy, vibes are unmatched. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"
Very cool game, can't wait to see where this dev team goes!!
A fictitious freaky frightening fervent feverdream from foreign faraway frames of mind. An appalling allegory of anointed allies abandoning any amiable allegiances to awakening animosity. Art and passion. 36 minutes long 10/10 (no really)
fish hear with fish ears dont go up there
I played this game whilst ill and in a fever state not knowing anything about it other than the art is hand-drawn. The music, art, dialogue, and pacing of this surrealist panic-scape make for an original and enlightening nightmare. I want others to see this game for what it is, and to fall asleep later with the characters burned in their mind-- WAKE UP SCHUBERT WAKE UP.
Cool shіt
It's a walk around point-and-click sort of game, with no mouse action. Really short. There's no controls in-game sadly, but it's E to interact and WASD or the arrow keys to move. The sound design and the visuals really make the game. There's quite a lot of flashing lights but they have a disable option in game for that. I like it, it is short... but would I recommend playing it yourself vs watching a video of the gameplay? No.
Schubert we know you can't buy this game
