great game
Very light weight little romp about preserving wildlife habitats. Lovely atmosphere. It is so nice that these days the tools are good enough so that non-AAA teams are able to put together little games like this.
It's very cute and I really like it... but it's barely playable without a controller and you can't change keybinds. I'm going to enjoy it on Switch I guess... -.-
This game has an ocean awareness which can be educational. I love how informative it is and the story is great too. The only downside I find is that this can turn into a mini trash sim and you can get lodged on a couple of surfaces, however a restart fixes that, regardless, its a still a lot of fun and I enjoyed this WAY more than anticipated considering its more for younger audiences and family friendly. Highly recommend for those that love their ocean and care about the environment.
I came to this after trying Clean Up Earth and backing that project on Kickstarter, where this was offered as an add‑on. It delivers the relaxed trash‑pickup gameplay I expected, wrapped in a light story and a pleasant island atmosphere. Some dialogue sequences feel a bit out of order, but the overall experience stays calm and enjoyable. I finished the main story and most side tasks in about six hours. The music is good throughout, though oddly absent during the credits. Recommended if you want a gentle, low‑pressure cleanup adventure; if you’re looking for complex storytelling or action, this isn’t the game for you.

Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission is a calm, purpose-driven adventure that places empathy, curiosity, and environmental awareness at the center of its design. Developed by Magic Pockets and published by Microids, the game invites players into a vibrant tropical setting where exploration is never rushed and danger is intentionally absent. Rather than pushing reflexes or complex systems, it asks players to slow down and engage with the world through observation, care, and gentle problem-solving. From the outset, it makes clear that this is an experience meant to be soothing and reflective, offering a change of pace from more demanding or competitive titles. The narrative unfolds on the island of Maupiroa, a place rich in culture, nature, and spiritual undertones, where a recent storm has disrupted both the environment and the lives of its inhabitants. Players take on the role of a young visitor who becomes involved in restoring balance to the island and surrounding ocean. Central to this journey is the bond with a dolphin companion, Keanu, whose presence adds warmth and emotional grounding to the experience. The story blends ecological themes with light fantasy elements, using ancestral totems and island traditions to frame real-world concerns such as pollution, habitat damage, and respect for marine life. The result is a narrative that feels approachable and sincere without becoming overly heavy-handed or preachy. Gameplay is structured around exploration and small, purposeful missions that reinforce the game’s themes. Players swim through coral reefs, explore underwater caves, and traverse beaches and jungle paths while helping clean up waste, free trapped animals, and document wildlife. One of the most engaging systems is the in-game codex, which encourages players to photograph different species and learn about them as part of their journey. This mechanic gives exploration a clear sense of reward while quietly reinforcing the educational core of the experience. The absence of time limits, oxygen meters, or hostile creatures ensures that the ocean feels like a welcoming space rather than a threatening one, making curiosity the primary driver of progress. Movement and controls are kept simple to maintain accessibility, and while this makes the game easy to pick up, it also contributes to its gentle pacing. Swimming alongside Keanu feels fluid and comforting, and the dolphin often serves as a guide, subtly directing attention toward points of interest without overwhelming the player with instructions. On land, traversal can feel slower, but this deliberate pace aligns with the game’s overall philosophy of mindful exploration. The experience is less about efficiency and more about presence, encouraging players to absorb their surroundings rather than rush from objective to objective. Visually, Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission leans into a colorful, stylized aesthetic that emphasizes clarity and warmth over realism. The underwater environments are especially inviting, filled with bright corals, schools of fish, and soft lighting that enhances the sense of tranquility. While the game does not aim for cutting-edge graphical fidelity, its art direction effectively conveys a sense of wonder and liveliness that supports its themes. The audio design further enhances this mood, with gentle music and ambient ocean sounds that make exploration feel meditative. Together, the visuals and soundscape create an atmosphere that feels safe, comforting, and emotionally uplifting. Over longer play sessions, the game’s limitations become more noticeable. Many objectives follow similar patterns, and players looking for evolving mechanics or deeper systems may find the experience repetitive. The game is clearly designed with a younger or more casual audience in mind, and its challenges rarely push players beyond basic observation and interaction. However, this simplicity is also part of its charm, as it ensures that the message of environmental care remains front and center without being buried under complexity. In the end, Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission succeeds as a gentle, meaningful adventure that prioritizes emotional connection and ecological awareness over traditional gameplay depth. It is a game best appreciated by players who value atmosphere, exploration, and thoughtful themes, or those seeking a relaxing experience to unwind with. While it may not satisfy players looking for high challenge or mechanical variety, it offers a heartfelt and visually pleasant journey that leaves a lasting impression through its message of respect for nature and the quiet beauty of the ocean.
