Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.71/day in the week to Sep 5 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

First of all: this game's amazing. The lore and atmosphere is awesome and masterfully done. You don't go on a quest to defeat a powerful being but rather collect items to worship it and hope it spares your life. Love that. The game's similarity to Darkest Dungeon and Dave the Diver is visible, but when it's done as well as it is here, the similar mechanics don't overshadow the originality of the game, but rather make it feel better. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Overall the mechanics, gameplay and lore work together to create a unique experience and I'm all for it. HOWEVER, some things need adressing: Firstly, the progression in the lategame can be tedious. Waiting for the gazing moon to upgrade or craft advanced buildings or items feels awful. If the game had some mechanic (maybe burning a specific tribute) to increase a chance of specific weather, it would feel a lot better in my opinion. I get that it's a hardcore game and it's supposed to be hard to get what you want, but it just feels bad to rely on luck (which i think determines the weather). Secondly, there are some bugs, for example the lockers don't seem to display the whole of the diver's inventory and trying to manipulate it by throwing out some items ends up freezing the game upon interacting with the locker. The saving grace is that when i restarted the game, it put me into state from before the dive and didn't kill my diver. The third thing i noticed is that when combining high level gear with the physical abilities enhancement, some enemies do little to no damage, and while it's cool to feel invincible to low level enemies and killing them without losing any health i think that being bitten by
It That Crawls
and just shrugging it off without even taking 1 point of damage is either a bug or a bad design. The problems aren't enough to make the game bad though. They are heavily overpowered by the good parts and I'd recommend trying the game to anyone. <3

Great atmosphere and rewarding exploration. Feels like a mixture of Darkest Dungeon and Barotrauma.
Super fun game! Lovecraft meets metroidvania. Darkest dungeon with scuba gear. Base building and worker placement for an elder god. Very suspenseful with the dives to ever greater depths, the risk reward tension of pressing on or turning back is great. I find myself holding my breath at times in new areas and have to remember to breathe. Haven't beaten it yet but making steady progress. Highly suspect my first attempt is going to fail but already looking forward to my next new start with what I've learned in the 1st play through. Non-spoiler tips for new players: - get your altar going ASAP with offerings to delay the doom timer - the travel serpent is safe and necessary, I delayed using it a long time and shouldn't have - you'll have plenty of food and morale later in the game so don't be afraid to specialize villagers for building use, maybe prioritize the fishing shack after the altar - expeditions are your friends, especially to the 2nd location that opens, the gear their makes progressing a lot easier - the bestiary will give clues or outright state how to deal with certain large monsters - refer to the maps at the library regularly, it will update as you unlock new areas, etc. - Once you find the insect blood resource make it the single most important resource priority and especially for its blessed upgrade. Absolutely crucial for story progression, be careful on using it for structure upgrades and such unless you somehow gather/farm a lot of it. edit: finished the game, had a lot of fun, going to work on the increased difficulty that unlocked now. Have fun divers!
Dive or Die is a very good rogue-like horror game. It very successfully blends survival, exploration and resource management mechanics with a lovecraftian doomsday clock theme that keeps you pushing forward. There is not much narration in this game but what is there is very memorable. The art style, the lightning, the sound design, the soundtrack(!), the whole atmosphere of Dive or Die is perfect.
Story
The world is going to end. Black rain has been falling for months and years on end, and it turns people into monsters. The water is rising, food is scarce, and you've made it to this island that used to be a mountain, and is now the end of your journey. Then, incredibly, you receive an unexpected reprieve: Clear sky. You have 40 days until the whole world will be flooded by the Rainmaker, unless you can find something in the depth below to avert this fate.
Gameplay
People say that Dive or Die is Dave the Diver meets Darkest Dungeon, but in my opinion, at its core this game is a classic colony survival game. Each day you send one survivor on a dive, and they have to collect food and materials to keep your camp viable. Survivors have two main stats, health and sanity (and oxygen/carry capacity when they are diving), and each day, you have to provide a certain amount of food and "mementos" to keep them sane. You have a number of buildings, like an infirmary, a fishing dock, or a workshop, which provide vital functions to your camp, but in most cases need to be manned by a survivor. You can recruit at least one new survivor each day, but, of course, they all need to be fed and, uh, memento-ed. You need all kinds of different resources for crafting useful items, but also to repair and upgrade your buildings. The Abyssal Pool, your diving spot, has various regions that have different resources and enemies, and if you want to survive, you'd better figure out how best to deal with them. You can find maps, blueprints and special items, so exploration is mandatory, but you also need to make certain that you don't forget to collect food, or that you can't survive without oxygen. Your survivors can level up in various skills that make them better at their job, and you might even want to consider to send someone on a dive first before you use them in a building to give them a quick additional level, since diving gives the most XP. Different buildings give additional perks either for high sanity or high health of the manning person, so there are plenty of opportunities to finetune your survivors and camp.
Your divers will die.
They might go insane, or randomly gain a negative condition. If that is something you can't deal with, this is probably not the game for you. The game automatically saves after each dive, and there is no restarting the day or loading a back-up. But divers earn levels relatively easy, and a dead diver does not mean that your run has failed. Dealing with the fall-out of catastrophic events is half the fun. The game initially has two difficulty settings, with a third one unlocked after you beat the game the first time, plus the option of setting your own custom difficulty. There is also an endless mode where you can keep exploring.
Conclusion
Dive or Die is a lot of fun, with a satisfying game loop of diving, (short) instances of managing your camp, and preparing your next dive. But I also enjoyed the "loop" of diving just to collect some material for upgrades, and exploring new areas with unknown dangers, the mad dash towards the surface, and making it on the last gasp of air. Then there is, of course, the counter at the top of the screen, that shows the number of days before a final flood will wipe us all out if we do not find a way to stop it. Highly recommended.
______________________________________________________ It’s like Darkest Dungeon had a baby with Dave the Diver, but Lovecraft was the lover. If you have thalassophobia, it’s even better—10/10 with headphones in a dark room.
I am LOVING this! I downloaded the demo after watching Splattercat play this, and I bought the game after playing the demo for a while. It's a bit janky, but it has a lot of heart. Clearly inspired by Darkest Dungeon, Dredge, and other popular lovecraftian indie games, and probably Dave the Diver, though I haven't played that one myself. The diving expeditions are short and intense, and the underwater map is very well crafted. The game makes clever use of metroidvania-style mechanics, and does a great job easing you into the game wiithout it feeling boring or tedious. The management part of the game is simple, but fun. I have played only 6-7 hours in total, so I realise my review is a bit early. I wanted to write it now because I know early reviews are worth a lot to a newly released indie game, and it has already won me over. A few gripes though: -Performance was terrible on the default settings, disabling v-sync improved it significantly, but it's still not great. -Navigating the UI doesn't always seem to function as intended. When selecting traits on controller, it jumps screen at illogical places, making it so that the 'hovered over' trait isn't even on screen. This is just an example, the UI isn't terrible overall but it's really janky and sometimes just doesn't work properly. I have a feeling this game might be a big hit, and I am rooting for it. Check out the demo before buying, because why not!
