Disturbed: Beyond Aramor is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad RenPy Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. This E-book features Choose-Your-Own-Adventure elements where you make some decisions that don't do anything to change the fact this is just an E-Book. Nobody finished reading a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book and said "Boy, what a great game I just played!". Because E-books aren't games. And neither is this. There's some really, really badly done high school art class dropout artwork to go on the pages of this E-book, which makes the whole experience worse. In fact the most amusing part of this horror themed E-book is counting all the spelling and grammatical errors... I mean seriously, if you're going to make the poor decision to dump an E-book onto Steam, at least run a spellchecker over it first. Is that too hard to ask? Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do. Disturbed: Beyond Aramor didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the E-Book, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the E-Book didn't really capture any interest from readers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for getting to one of the endings for the Choose Your Own Adventure book, trivial to get, but less than 14 percent of readers bothered to get that far before uninstalling the E-Book. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the E-Book. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this E-Book was with readers reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in reader counts for the E-Book. But this only happened once, and isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 14 percent of readers bothered playing the E-Book for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this E-Book to have so many concurrent readers who didn't bother engaging with this E-Book? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this E-Book for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the E-Book just has a couple of readers every week running up the E-Book and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many E-Books like this, with little merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. So, should you buy this E-Book? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Disturbed: Beyond Aramor has the pathetically optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. You can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries, or from bookstores for a fraction of the price of this "game". Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.
The first game was cool but this one is on another level. A lot of endings, a lot of things to try. I personally enjoy discovering all its secrets and delving deeper into its history. Not only does it connect very well with its predecessor, but it also improves in various aspects such as drawing, animations, battles and multiple paths to finish it. I must thank its developer for helping us solve the game's problems and for writing the guides.
I really liked the first game and IMMEDIATELY picked this up when I saw it. All I can say is, my head is SPINNING from all the options. This is a true Choose Your Own Adventure, through and through. Man, oh, man, there are hours worth of discoveries and horrible deaths and good writing! One thing I also like is the atmosphere and the unique hand-drawn aesthetics. Like the previous game before, this one OOZEZ atmosphere!
Классная штука, почему-то сильно проигнорирована игроками, даже несмотря на успех первой части. Странно.
I really enjoyed playing this game. After loving the first "Disturbed" I was hyped to play the second one. And it exceeded my expectations? I spent hours and hours on this game, much more than on the original one, which makes it worth the money. It was difficult at times, but with a lot of exploring and double checking (and help from the amazing developer because I'm so bad at games lol) I was able to finish it. Playing the whole game and exploring every possible quest and ending is what makes it so fantastic. All the possibilities and different ways to play are awesome. I HIGHLY recommend it.
I was gonna wait till I beat it fully before I reviewed it but I can safely say this games fantastic and well worth the money. There's a lot more going on in this one than the first game. Hell a lot more going on than most games of its kind. Its in the visual novel category but it plays so much differently than other VN's. Its more like a hybrid of different games. It has rpg elements, turn based battling, multiple story outcomes, currency, equipment, and many more little aspects that make this more than the usual choose as you go adventure. In fact the games very complex. Unlike the first Disturbed which I loved you don't simply get 1 achievement for winning and a bunch more for dying. You still get the fun death achievements in this one of course.. But you also get achievements for quests, goals, wins, and much more. The game completely outdoes the first one and that's saying a lot considering the first disturbed was my fav game of this kind on steam. This game is well worth the money and at 5$ if you loved the first one there is no reason not to support this dev. Cards, achievements, multiple languages, this game has a lot of the usual support steam games get. Its not some bare boned cheap crap like most of the ports on steam its a game that had a lot of time, effort, and production put into it, and they are still uploading new languages into the game years after it came out. The game is heavily supported and not just abandoned like so much on steam. I've sunk some hours on and offline into this game and still nowhere near even half the achievements done. I coulda looked up walkthroughs but this isn't that kinda game. Its one of those games thats fun to figure out for yourself through trial and error. I actually got one of the good endings, beat the skeleton king, and became an adventurer with a hopeful future all on my own. Even if you do want to complete it fully and follow a walkthrough there are very nice ones on steam complete with maps, created by the creator himself. This game is hugely supported and is not just some abandoned product. Even years after making it the game still gets updates and creator feedback. It was crafted with love of the product someone who had a vision and wanted to put out something truly macabre and.... disturbing. Buy it if you are even slightly into horror for its genre its one of the best of its kind, and imo the best.

Even though a run is 5 to 10+ hours, you immediately want to start over. The freedom of choice makes exploring every ending and achievement absolutely addictive. It’s a fantastic way to spend a lot of time and truly test your memory. **A challenging joy.** The persistent bug where the text language swaps back to English upon dying/loading remains a frustrating technical flaw that breaks the flow. The game is otherwise smooth, but this bug is definitely an immersion killer that forces you to pause the game constantly.

STORY AND NARRATIVE: 10/10 —

The storyline is massive and much more ambitious than the first, exploring complex religious and existential themes through Gabriel’s journey. The narrative branches masterfully, and you have great freedom to choose your moral path (hero, dark side, or neutral). **The lore expansion is fantastic.** —

GAMEPLAY & MECHANICS: 9/10 —

This is the game changer! They added so much: combat, gear, spells, and a party system. You're no longer alone—you gather companions who can die (stressful!) or unlock new story branches. The small file size and low barrier to entry are huge selling points for anyone with an older PC. **Runs on anything!** —

SOUND DESIGN & MUSIC: 8/10 —

The sound design is solid and supports the visuals perfectly. The highly stylized look is effective, but sometimes the lack of visual polish is noticeable in the static screens. —

DIFFICULTY: 6/10 —

The difficulty is pretty high, and it’s tied to exploration that can be super confusing. You'll struggle just to find the right path for specific endings. Since the game is quick to punish you with death, you need great memory and persistence. It’s a challenge, but you feel rewarded when you finally crack it. —

Final Thoughts:
Beyond Aramor is truly a hidden gem that completely delivers on the promise of the first game. If you’re looking for a deep, challenging game that makes you think about huge, complex themes long after you've quit, and you're ready to test your brain and memory, you should absolutely jump into this! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3601140086
In my opinion, too complicating and boring to be worth $4.99. I like the Free-to-Play Disturbed better.
Get the game. Its cheap and fun and very frustrating. Took me about 14 hours to figure out how to pull off a decent ending (good guy/ alliance). Dont bother looking for help online because you wont find any resources. And once you figure out how not to ♥♥♥♥ up the world you feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ king killing that piece of trash. Youll know what im talking about when you play it. And play the first one too, its free and good.
