Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amazing Game. Ignore the mixed reviews. This game is a Grand Strategy Simulator
The game is finally at the point where I vastly prefer it over Distant Worlds: Universe. With the Shakturi DLC the game finally feels more "complete". Very happy to support a small dev for an admittedly tiny niche game. If you love space 4x games you should already know of this game and I recommend you try it. The somewhat limited graphics come with the upside of massive scale and the size of the universe very much feels like ant farm simulator at times. If you have not played space 4x games I would probably try something more accessible like Stellaris, Endless Space or Galactic CIvilizations first, as there is a bit more of a learning curve to this one. I would not dive into it without being familiar with the genre or reading the numerous guides. This game has less "RPG" than the other games in the genre but it does well enough to get by and on all other counts it is an excellent Space Empire Simulator.

distant worlds 2 is like stellaris but more details and automation. If you don't want to manage the details automate your empire to deal with it.
What's the point of a game that basically encourages you to automate everything so it plays itself?
I will change this review to positive when they add the ability to queue orders. Should have been included in the game from day 1. Playing manually was a large part of more advanced play in Distant Worlds: universe, which I played over 800 hours on. This game was missing some major parts from the first game. and two years later, its still not there.
I like the KISS principle to this game (make sure you got a serious CPU and RAM)One thing i dont like though....FUGLY human ships... I mean comon guys. You think any human would want to be seen in those lawn darts? Needs polishing IMO but hell if you want to rule the galaxy. this one has a good perspective.
I'm a big fan of Stellaris and this game is really fun once you understand the interface and how everything works in general. Very refreshing. PS: soundtrack sucks, I recommend subscribing to the one in the workshop. EDIT: I forgot to add the graphics and the SFX is outdated, the way the ships look and sound is not good at all compared to other space games.
DW2 has been sitting in my Steam library for quite some time before I decided to dive in recently. I kicked it off with a weekend of trial and error alongside watching DasTactic YouTube tutorials. I proceeded to sink 30 hours into the first week of playing. Keep in mind I also work 50+ full time hours a week. Game is amazing! Takes me back to the early 90's and a board game called "Silent Death". A space skirmish game with metal miniatures. I had written house rules that allowed players to build an entire solar system around this base game. My friends and I would sit around rolling dice, generating our planets, moving our ships. When we encountered one another, we'd turn it over to the Silent Death board game for resolving the space combat. DW2 brings that whole tabletop, pen and paper experience back for me and It's spectacular. One "role play" flourish I would love to see in future updates. -- "Ship stories" A ships log (journal of discoveries and battles) for each vessel as well as the ability to custom paint your ships with war paint or nation colors. Thanks for this wonderful game. I can see my starter 30 hours turning into 300 very quickly. Also shout out to DasTactic for all his help.
It's so damn fun but the UI is painful. I mean, I just fired it up after not playing for such a long time, just to remember why I had left in the first place. If you can get past the terrible UI, I suspect that you'll have a blast.
