Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Excellent Game.
Scratches the Stellaris itch without needing to buy into Paradox's way of selling you extra content. Easy to get into in order to learn the basics of how to play, steep learning curve if you want to have more granular control over your game. But so very rewarding when you start to get it right.

Great x4 simulation game, the developers are continuously improving the game.
Took a while to get to content parity with Universe but it's huge and made by like 2 guys. Nothing's quite like these games. They're basically an enormous cosmic model train set. I personally would love if there was a touch more depth to the world and variety to the characters, but what this game is trying to do—be enormous, complex, and full of dynamic simulated history—it succeeds at.
Got of to a rough start but is getting better with every update
Very good strategy game. Doesn't try and script the outcomes of your choices, which makes it a superior game, but makes the difficulty rather unpredictable. Other people complain about the automation, but the automation works well, and it's well designed, especially if you can learn by watching others use it.
Longtime DW:U player, so love the franchise. DW2 is generally brilliant sequel and give 10/10 for concept, 9/10 for overall design, but right this moment in late 2024 - only 6.5 to perhaps 7.0 on actual implementation. Deliberately waited ~2 years after initial release to play, because knew would take awhile to settle in with patches and improvements. And to their credit, from what I've read, tons of things have improved. But at the moment there are still very frustrating, basic bugs left. Don't mean very hard to quantify things like 'AI could be better at picking decisions for XXX'. I mean completely broken, basic game functions. 1- Fleet templates, awesome concept, but have to re-do from scratch each game. All saved Fleet Templates refuse to load at all, so this UI option might as well not exist. Unlike Ship Designs which are very on-the-spot and depends on many random tech factors you can't predict one game to next, Fleet Template designs are generally permanent (e.g. your style of play - do you prefer many local system defense fleets, massive regional cover fleets only, etc) 2- Start settings - some of the most important preferences are essentially useless. One example is Colony Events - some players like random events like earthquakes and plagues happening to their empire. Others hate it. So great, option exists to toggle these mechanics on or off. However, the setting is completely irrelevant at moment, and these events happen regardless. Plague spam after spam, not so fun. 3- Performance: will have to commend/edit later as right now see zero issues, even on largest 2000 star, 10x10 - but I don't favor huge AI numbers. e.g. more AI empires than AI races in game. So I play all games with total 11 empires (me + other 10 races). GPU usage is basically irrelevant, very CPU and RAM driven game. With 13900k, 4090, and 64GB ram, even towards endgame the simulation run pretty smooth. Have read with more AI empires it can bog down, but have not seen that with my preference settings above. 4- Freedom to design and play your way - where game truly shines. Mix and match auto vs manual settings, design down to the very last civilian freighter or only military ships, whatever. It makes replayability huge because so many factors are random. Depending what AI race you are fighting and what weapons they pick, random tech bonuses you picked up that move you down different path from one game to next, etc. 5- Combat - just stunning. Can watch from galactic map down to individual ship level as it launches fighters or slugs it out. Viewing how your fleet and ship designs perform is very satisfying. The weapons and combat sounds are fairly ok, but could use some more improvements (e.g. some missile weapons just don't have the same satisfying sounds of railgun daka for example.) Overall, the design and current state is worth buying the game. However, basic bugs which I've googled and seen reported repeatedly in 2022, 2023, and earlier in 2024 and STILL in game (e.g. loading fleet templates) prevents scoring overall any higher than 7/10. Once fixed, I'd raise it to 9/10 or even 9.5/10
The game is finally at the point where I vastly prefer it over Distant Worlds: Universe. With the Shakturi DLC the game finally feels more "complete". Very happy to support a small dev for an admittedly tiny niche game. If you love space 4x games you should already know of this game and I recommend you try it. The somewhat limited graphics come with the upside of massive scale and the size of the universe very much feels like ant farm simulator at times. If you have not played space 4x games I would probably try something more accessible like Stellaris, Endless Space or Galactic CIvilizations first, as there is a bit more of a learning curve to this one. I would not dive into it without being familiar with the genre or reading the numerous guides. This game has less "RPG" than the other games in the genre but it does well enough to get by and on all other counts it is an excellent Space Empire Simulator.
Distant Worlds 2 is the second installment of the series. A highly configurable Real Time Strategy game set in a galaxy of strife. Explore, Exploit and Expand your empire as you adventure through unknown systems. What I like The game allows for near infinite configurations. Size of galaxy, distribution of star systems, agression of other races, cost of research and much much more. It is very satisfying to see your empire grow from humble beginnings to a vast empire spanning many star systems and vast armadas projecting your power. The game allows for high use of automation to almost none. You can set it to "Rule in absence" and go AFK, or manage every detail. Designing ship classes, setting colony policies and running your spy network. It is all configurable. What I dont like Only singleplayer. This is more of a whish than a gripe. I whish I was able to enjoy the game with others. Game uses a lot of memory/cores. In large games with many systems and a large galaxy, performance can be a bit of a problem. To solve this, simply play smaller galaxies with fewer advisaries.
