What a fun little game. At times it's pretty challenging but nothing too difficult, the game is designed in such a way that you don't need too many tries to figure out boss patterns or tricky platforming sections. Another nice feature is that you can warp between different areas so you don't have to do a bunch of backtracking. I managed to beat it on Easy with an in-game time of 4,5 hours and I enjoyed every minute of it. Will have to try the Hard difficulty next, which means you die in 1 hit. That's gonna be a proper challenge for sure...

Not as good as the first game. It tries to be a full blown metroidvania now but it's barely a shallow imitation of metroidvania lite titles like Wonderboy:Dragon's Trap. Terribly scarce checkpointing, uninteresting map layout with the formula of 4-5 rooms of filler platforming and 1 boss. The 3 warp points you can activate are placed in the most useless way ever, at least you can warp from the menu once all 3 are activated. You can pick between easy and hard mode as you start the game, easy gives you way too much health and hard gives you only one, making neither well balanced. The platforming rooms are dull, claustrophobic corridors littered with snakes and bats only to waste your time. Most bosses have no telegraphs and mostly boil down to one hit pokes between the often not evenly spaced out timing of it's attacks and because the hitboxes are really horrible for your tiny sword attack. Almost all my deaths are collision related, even the odd turning around of a boss just slightly earlier than the exact side of the room is disorienting. Some optional items are cute references to classics and the final boss has a decent pattern but as a whole it feels all around inferior to the first game. Not even sure how the title or the story connects if at all outside of the vague appearance of the crystal relic. It's free now, so if you have like 2 hours to kill it's not horrible but still...
