Take this recommendation with a grain of salt: You will lose your saved game. It could be some issue with steam cloud, it could be a misclick in the profile menu that breaks everything, it could be because it's Tuesday, but it will happen eventually. Despite this, I have restarted 3 times. It only takes a few hours to unlock all the songs, and they're as catchy as you'd expect. It really captures the high-school feel of the era, with the character customization and cute little asides like the personality quizzes and cast interviews. You get to make your little sims and pair them together and write fanfiction about how they totally screwed up their first kiss at prom It's an undemanding game, and if you walk in ready for a cheesy time then you'll get exactly what you paid for
This is such a fun game! The animations are pretty good for how old the game is and you get to pick which character does each song including your own character! The quizzes are all kinds of fun and remind me a load of those old quizzes you used to get in magazines! It's little weird not hearing the official versions of the songs considering it's an official game made by Disney but still. There are also work arounds for the saving problem, the one I use is just saving everything to slot 8, it won't SAY the data is saved there but trust me it is, when you open the game and it tells you there's no save data, just ignore it and start without a profile and then just load from whatever slot you saved things to, your data is still there
This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck, like really sucks, it is the worst of the worst when it comes to rhythm games. So, I played this on the steam deck, which it did run smoothly on. It is a four button pattern setup that can be controlled on the dpad or by pressing AXYB. The thing is that it is way too easy, even for the 12 year old girls it was designed for. The patterns also don’t follow the rhythm or beats of any of the songs at all, it is just random blobs you have to press as they snail their way out towards the receptors. The receptors, or judgment line as I googled my way to find out the area the notes want to get to is called, is also not a straight line, but in a square pattern that covers every side of the screen, making it really uncomfortable to look at incoming notes as they appear simultaneously on both sides of the screen. Whoever designed this should stay away from this genre in the future, it was torture to play. Now, I know this game is old, but it is also really featureless, even for an old game. There is no story mode, just a few songs with some low poly dance scenes that you can’t even really watch because you have to keep your eyes on the sides of the screen to hit the notes. There is also a character creator, though you have like 5 faces to choose from and a few clothing pieces, that is it. Then there is some behind the scenes footage from the movie, which is alright I guess. My wife and I watched them together and caught a bit of second hand embarrassment from it, but it was fun. But that is pretty much all this game has to offer. That they ask 20 bucks for this is insane. The game sucks and the whole franchise is dead and long gone by now. Don’t waste your time. _________________________________ Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
what can i say other than it's freaking awesome and cool and rad and badass and sweet and maybe even the best game ever made
i bought this just for funsies, but it actually includes songs from the WHOLE TRILOGY high school musical was literally part of my childhood, i'm having way too much fun with this game also, it works in 1440p out of the box, no fixes needed
This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blows. I hate everything about it. ANYONE WHO PLAYS THIS GAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SUCKS. I HOPE YOU DIE
The soundtracks to the High School Musical movies absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slap so I'm glad there's a rhythm game for them. The game itself, however, was quite mid even in 2008 and did not age well at all so you can't expect some 5 star triple A experience or you will be extremely disappointed. If you love the movies and/or soundtrack and can temper your expectations the game is right up your alley, especially at the $5 it's on sale for regularly. Edit: Here's a patch to make saving work again: https://github.com/antigravities/allinthistogether
