best game I ever played.
So I believe this was released in 2012, so I need to temper this through glasses from 14 years ago. Generic spoilers below so stop reading if you're a sensitive sarah. The story is better than most video games, but is VERY cliché in 2026. Its a well done game, and you should absolutely get it, especially during a sale, so let me lay that as my foundation here. Someone else here said it was Elder Scrolls with Thief mechanics. Accurate oversimplification. We already had a Thief, where the stealth aspects made sense. And the Thief followups except for the remake, were out before Dishonored was, and we also already had an Assassin's creed I, II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. But at least AC had the decency to punish you for not being stealthy on the spot. Here having high chaos feels like the devs are going, "YOU ARE NOT PLAYING THE GAME HOW WE WANT, AND YOU MUST PLAY ONLY OUR WAY". I've been around for a long time, and I'm not about to be highbrowed by guys younger than me and smell worse than me. Its not just the mission completion style, they ding you for leaving corpses around too. So let me put this into perspective, Some slimeballs kill your boss, stealing your income, and then the city watch is protecting the slimeballs, and only are you not supposed to kill them in the act of vengeance, but if you knock them out instead, (at greater risk to yourself) you have to cleanup your crime scene and find a dumpster to throw them into, and the game comes down on you HARD if you don't. I do not have the time or the patience to do things I don't want to do in a game. I can go play real life if I am gonna do things I don't want to do, and thats the part that Arkane forgot. Its still worth the purchase 14 years later, but temper your expectations.
The art is incredible as well as the dialogue. The gameplay is fast-paced and what you can equip, what you can use. Even the whole theme of it being dark and play, it just blends so well together and they put you right up there inside the world. Would highly recommend, very. If you like Bioshock, especially, this is a game for you! :D
Lan yarım saat oynadım harbi dedikleri kadar varmış çok zevkli indirimde almayan çok şey kaçırmış olur.
I was obsessed with this for like an entire month back when this dropped on the PS3, I must have played through it fifty times in all honesty. The level of freedom you have throughout makes it kind of impossible to ever get bored of this. Anyway, this has aged extremely well, especially the first two-thirds, which are perfect. It does start to run out of steam towards the end, and I think the level design takes a nosedive, but the first 7 hours or so of this are so utterly without fault that it's hard to not love it.
