Don't get this game if you're expecting a 100% accurate and realistic disc golf simulator. This is a really cute and cozy arcade-y disc golf game made by a tiny dev team. It’s pretty clear they had cozy gamers in mind when making it, instead of the sports enthusiasts, which conveniently includes me. I had a lot of fun hunting achievements on stream, though for some reason they only worked on the tutorial level. The maps are also interesting to explore, with graphics that remind me of Katamari games.
Disc Golf City, developed and published by Agapo Games, offers a playful and unconventional take on disc golf by transplanting the sport into a vibrant, stylized urban environment. Instead of traditional forested courses or natural landscapes, the game turns entire city districts into elaborate playgrounds filled with rooftops, alleyways, street markets, airport runways, and beach promenades. This shift in setting immediately gives the game a distinct personality, using colorful low-poly visuals and upbeat music to create a setting that feels cheerful, imaginative, and slightly surreal. Each neighborhood becomes a themed course, transforming everyday structures into obstacles and opportunities for creative shot-making. The city does not merely serve as a backdrop; it is the central puzzle to solve, and in many ways the true star of the experience. The core mechanics revolve around simple but surprisingly nuanced disc-throwing controls. With a combination of power, angle, and curve, you guide the disc through tight spaces, banking it off buildings or gliding it over elevated terrain to land in the distant baskets that mark the end of each hole. While easy to learn, these controls require patience and experimentation, because the game’s physics offer a mixture of satisfying precision and occasional unpredictability. A shot might soar gracefully across an open plaza one moment and then veer unexpectedly or bounce wildly off an object the next. This unpredictability can be part of the charm, as it encourages inventive approaches to each hole and creates triumphant moments when an improvised, curving throw lands exactly where intended. One of the game’s most enjoyable qualities is how boldly it treats the city as a disc-golf obstacle course. Holes may begin atop multi-story buildings or require you to thread a shot between street signs or around a ferris wheel. Cars, urban decorations, and moving elements introduce dynamic challenges that force you to think beyond simple straight-line throws. This constant variety helps each course feel fresh, and the pleasure of discovering unexpected trick-shot possibilities becomes a central motivation to keep playing. The city’s whimsical construction encourages a loose, experimental playstyle in which even failed attempts can be entertaining. Visually, Disc Golf City embraces a lighthearted cartoon aesthetic. Its low-poly design gives the environments a clean, readable look, while the bold colors reinforce the game’s casual, relaxed energy. The music and audio effects complement this atmosphere, creating a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to sink into longer play sessions without feeling overwhelmed or rushed. The presentation aims for approachability rather than realism, and this tone works well for players who prefer casual sports games that emphasize fun over simulation. Despite these strengths, the game does have notable limitations. The same physics that make trick shots rewarding can also introduce frustration, especially in later courses where precision becomes more demanding. Occasional inconsistencies in how the disc behaves after impact—rolling too far, bouncing unexpectedly, or failing to land cleanly—can make some holes feel more like guesswork than skill. Additionally, the progression system requires achieving specific score thresholds to unlock new areas, which may pose a barrier for casual players who want to explore the city at their own pace. Instead of feeling like a gentle tour through imaginative environments, the experience can sometimes shift into a grind when you’re stuck trying to shave a point or two off a challenging course. Another missed opportunity lies in the absence of multiplayer modes. Disc golf is inherently social, and the game’s tone would lend itself perfectly to local or online competitive play, friendly tournaments, or even simple hot-seat matches. Without these features, the experience remains purely single-player, limiting its long-term appeal for those who enjoy sharing arcade-style challenges with friends. The solitary nature of the gameplay doesn’t diminish its charm, but it does leave a sense that the game could have soared further with even modest multiplayer additions. Even so, Disc Golf City succeeds in providing a colorful and refreshing twist on a relatively niche sport. Its lively environments, approachable controls, and emphasis on creative shot-making give it an identity distinct from more serious disc-golf simulators. It is best enjoyed as a relaxed, arcade-style physics game rather than a precision-based sports simulation. Players who appreciate experimentation, imaginative design, and low-pressure gameplay will find a lot to enjoy as they bounce and glide discs throughout the city’s whimsical districts. While it may not offer the refinement or depth some players hope for, it delivers a playful and memorable urban disc-golf adventure that stands out through charm and inventiveness. Rating: 7/10

Pourquoi vous laissé les scores des tricheurs ! ? Faire un parcoure complet en 1 coup ! Comment vous faite sans tricher ?
Welp, my 6 year old son saw this on the front page as we were scrolling and said we had to try it. So we downloaded the demo and played the tutorial. It is a very simple but quite satisfying disc golf game. I do wish the physics would be slightly updated for throwing certain shots and how they should come back in another direction but aside from that it is quality fun. Especially for the low price we got it for. Hope to see more disc selection soon, keep it up!
