Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Complete waste of time. Non-game, full of literally the exact "sneak past the lifeform" objective. Almost NO consequences and 0 QTEs. This ♥♥♥♥ is straight ass.
I don't get all the hate for the stealth. Was it maybe a lil too much? Yes, but some of the best horror games focus on stealth and yet people love them. I feel like if another studio did a reveal for a stealth horror game like outlast, but it had choices matter aspects, people would lose their minds. But since it's a DPA game people only wanted a carbon copy of the previous games playstyle. Though i don't think it's perfect by any means. Just like usual for DPA characters say really stupid things at stupid times, but i can look past it. Overall i loved the game for what it is, which might've been carried by the space/futuristic theme. I also was very caught off guard by the big twist at the end.

The game is fantstic I personally dont understand why people are saying that the charaters are stupid when they see someone die then see them again when they do ask questions about how they are still alive, its a mental survial horror game.
Directive 8020 clearly shows that Supermassive Games can very rarely make a really good story. House of Ashes was a very big exception. And every new project of The Dark Pictures is getting worse and worse. But this time Supermassive Games for the first time tried to make not interactive movies, but a game. And everything fell apart right away. If they have almost no competition in the movie genre and even the average project is interesting to go through simply because it is such a specific genre. But when you add gameplay to it, the movie becomes a game. And you have completely different expectations for him. And now Directive 8020 can't give the game. There's a stupid 2-button gameplay, a meaningless stealth (it's almost a suicide for a project in The Dark Pictures series) and the saddest thing is the story. She's not just stupid in her idea, she's trying to prove to the player that it's not so. And it turns out that Directive 8020 is the beginning of a new season of The Dark Pictures, and if it took the studio 2 years, then I don't know what to expect from the episode next. There's nothing to praise her for, except for the graphics. 5/10
Had a fun time playing movie night with friends, and I think this entry moved the "series" forward in a good way that I'm excited to see newer games build off of this. The characters were interesting as far as Supermassive characters go (shoutout to my Philosopher Cernan), the choices were pretty fun, and I could see the vision in terms of the "updated" gameplay. After replaying the DPA just before, this game feels like a massive upgrade in terms of quality of life. The turning points is a great way of allowing us to see the different branches for multiple playthrough's. On the other hand, I will agree that the stealth sections felt way overdone, especially by the end of the game. And also no shared story or online multiplayer (at the time of writing) at all feels like a real loss. I'll still recommend it as I love these style of games and still enjoyed my time here. I want to see Supermassive succeed and I just hope they manage to maintain or even exceed the quality of their future games compared to Directive 8020.
Im loving this game, creepy, interesting, a lot of things to explore
I like these games, with Until Dawn being the best in the series, but this is lame compared to that. There’s no atmosphere thanks to the corny music between episodes, and the acting, directing and story is bad. It’s a cool concept as I love The Thing but executed poorly. I actually liked the stealth mechanics, as it added a new layer of gameplay, but the QTEs have been massively reduced, and I actually felt like I interacted with the game way more less that it’s predecessors.
