Dino running from a FURRY: GAMESFORFARM

Got this for free from Steam. Not from the developer. This definitely feels like a game jam game. Not sure if it was one, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I feel like the game was originally designed to be horizontal. The assets, the clouds, etc. feel like they were designed to be facing the screen and then for some reason, by accident or on purpose, the designer looked at it off-axis and thought it looked cooler. The problem with this is that over half of the screen is useless. Only the right 1/3rd of the screen has any useful information. The other 2/3rds contains a pretty poorly animated furry character who doesn't add anything to the game. It's not a threat. If Dino gets hit by something, all it does is dance. There's no reason for it to be there except for Dino to run from something, but why can't Dino run for something? Cake? The sake of running? Move Dino back to where the furry is and it'll give the player much more information about what's upcoming. Also, the distance and coin counter are both on the top left of the screen (the useless side of the screen remember?) If you're mid-run and want to check your distance, you have to move your eyes from the useful 1/3rd that shows what obstacles are upcoming all the way to the other side to see how far you've gone. In that time, at the higher speeds later in the game, you'll have died. This is a good metaphor for keeping your eyes on the road while driving. Even if you're just checking your speedometer, you could get in a nasty accident and have a furry dance on the fiery wreckage of your former car. There isn't any settings menu in this game either. I hope your computer can handle the high-resolution furry dancing on your screen, because you can't turn that down. Not that you would want to. There's a shop in this game, but it contains only cosmetics. Not useful upgrades that many other endless runner games offer. No jump boost, extra life, time slow-down, speed up, etc. can be obtained in this game. It's pure skill. Keep you eyes intently focused on the far right edge of your computer monitor, and you can achieve the seemingly impossible score of 5000 meters if you dare play the game for long enough to get that good at it. This game feels very much like a free phone app designed to keep your attention just enough to serve you as many ads for other mobile games as possible. Luckily for the low low price of $2.99 (or free if you were lucky like me) you can play a mobile-class game without those pesky false-advertisements for games that aren't like the ad when you get worn down enough to download them. The only reason I took the time to write this review is to get an achievement for this stupid game, which should tell you where I'm at in my life. Not recommended.
