Take control of the dieselpunk future!
Thirty-five years ago, the dense, bustling metropolis of New Libertis was born from an explosive boom of technological marvels. This new industrial renaissance saw the rapid expansion of the “Iron City”, pioneered by industrialist Hieronymus Frazer, founder of the now-omnipresent FALCORP.
Rising from the center of the city, the monolithic New Babel Tower siphons energy from the outer zones to power the glowing lamps of FALCORP’s countless labs. In its shadow the city’s workers - alongside gangsters, brawlers, and mechanized humanoid “autos” - spend their lives relegated to inhuman conditions with no hope of escape.
With almost limitless resources at his disposal, Frazer now seeks to secure his legacy and usher in a grand ascension for humanity’s elite. To that end, anything and everything may be sacrificed for his greater vision.
Bold, brazen champions will rise in the fight for tomorrow - the fate of the city is in your hands!

This game is a underrated gem I see that the devs are making an avatar fighting game now I hope they bring everything great from this game to that one
Do you remember the early Fatal Fury games that had that lane change thingie? It was bad, wasn't it? Guess what, this anime styled fighting game brings that back and it can't be good. The special attack commands are awful to execute, most of them require more than one button push and sometimes they use unrelated buttons like X+B or A+Y after the directions code to perform regular special attacks which is really funny and reminds a lot of the early Fatal Fury installments and its complicated commands. You can tell Fatal Fury was the main inspiration for this game. To add some insult to the injury, most fights are 2v2 matches with a computer controlled ally against two enemies, not to mention that your ally plays poorly as the enemies AI is much better... What were they thinking when they came up with this game idea? Good grief, what's going on with game devs these days...
Sucks that literally no one plays this. It's mechanically sound, it's innovative as hell, all the animation is all hand-drawn and of superior quality, It even has silky-smooth ROLLBACK NETCODE and a DEMO. You couldn't ask for a better indie fighting game these days. Could have been a real winner. Still not too late for it to be one. Throw Mike Z a bone, lord knows he needs it after the hand he's been dealt.
game is neat it's just unfortunate it had to get shot out back of a wendy's
This game is great, it really is. If you like skull girls, you'll like this game too. It has a unique take on the fighting genre and has very nice hand drawn animation. BUT... the player base is small I would assume considering the fact that It takes so long to find a match. SO.. please play this game, It deserves some love.
(: placeholder for now. Game looks and sounds great. Will update the more I play.
Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age is an ambitious and stylish reinvention of the traditional fighting game, developed by Maximum Entertainment and published by Gameplay Group International. Rather than relying on the familiar one-on-one formula, it introduces a fully cooperative 2v2 structure played across three parallel lanes, creating a layered battlefield that feels both chaotic and strategic. It stands out immediately thanks to its dieselpunk world—an industrial metropolis powered by heavy machinery, neon grit, and technological decay—and its cast of larger-than-life combatants. From the moment a match begins, the game makes it clear that it wants to push the genre into new territory. What defines Diesel Legacy mechanically is its three-lane combat system. Instead of a flat stage, battles unfold across three distinct planes, and players constantly shift between them to dodge attacks, set up combos, protect their partner, or outmaneuver opponents. This design transforms positioning into a dynamic, multi-layered puzzle. Lane switching becomes as important as blocking or spacing, and team synergy matters far more than in most fighting games. Coordinating cross-lane assaults, interrupting threats aimed at your partner, or performing tandem setups creates a sense of cooperative fluidity that feels genuinely refreshing. Even long-time fighting game veterans may need time to adjust, yet the payoff is a system that feels fast, flexible, and full of emergent strategy. The roster further elevates the experience. Each character embodies the dieselpunk aesthetic with exaggerated silhouettes, mechanical enhancements, or thematic quirks rooted in the lore of New Libertis. The designs feel hand-drawn and expressive, with smooth animation that makes attacks visually satisfying and easy to read despite the inherent intensity of four characters sharing the screen. The diversity of the lineup ensures that each fighter plays differently: some specialize in lane control, others in rushdown pressure, others in deceptive movement or mid-range zoning. The game succeeds in giving every fighter a distinct identity that extends beyond simple archetypes, offering plenty of room for experimentation and mastery. The presentation of Diesel Legacy is one of its greatest strengths. The setting of New Libertis is immediately captivating—a dieselpunk industrial empire full of towering machinery, smog-filled skylines, and pulsing neon. Stages combine detailed environmental storytelling with a sense of constant motion, capturing the gritty energy of a city on the brink. The music leans into energetic industrial rhythms and heavy percussion, mirroring the weight and impact of each strike. From menus to cutscenes, the aesthetic cohesion adds a layer of immersion that many fighting games struggle to achieve, grounding the larger-than-life battles in a world with personality and history. Beyond competitive play, the game offers a surprisingly robust single-player experience. Each character has a dedicated story campaign that fleshes out the world of New Libertis, introducing factions, motivations, and conspiracies centered around the rise of mega-corporations and the mysterious Babel Tower. While the storytelling isn’t revolutionary, the production values—animated sequences, sharp character art, and unique battles—help give context to the roster. A generous suite of training tools, including frame data displays and hitbox visualization, supports both newcomers and aspiring experts, and rollback netcode ensures smooth matches online. Despite its innovation, Diesel Legacy is not without weaknesses. The complexity of reading four fighters across three lanes can be overwhelming, especially during heated exchanges where projectiles, specials, and movement overlap. This visual density sometimes makes it hard to track what’s happening, especially for newer players. Balance issues also emerge as the meta develops, with certain characters or abilities feeling disproportionately strong compared to others. Although balance patches can address this over time, early impressions suggest that some tuning is needed to keep competitive play fair and diverse. The learning curve, while rewarding, may be steeper than expected for players used to traditional 1v1 fighters. Even with these shortcomings, Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age stands as one of the most inventive fighting games of its era. Its cooperative structure, multi-lane mechanics, and distinctive dieselpunk world give it a unique identity that helps it stand apart in a crowded genre. It blends accessibility and depth, spectacle and strategy, experimentation and familiarity. For those tired of formulaic fighters or eager for a fresh take on team-based combat, Diesel Legacy offers an exciting and stylish alternative. It may require patience to master, but the payoff is a fighting experience that feels vibrant, modern, and full of potential. Rating: 8/10
