the devs have abandonded this game. i understand not having the money to continue, but that doesnt mean i can recommend this game. it is not in a state where it would be worth paying full price for. at five dollars you might find five dollars of enjoyment out of it, but even then...i dont know that this is worth your time from a gameplay standpoint. its a cool idea and the art is rad as hell, but the game itself is unfinished and it feels unfinished. exactly the sort of treatment of a project that justifies people being angry at early access titles. you made a commitment to the people who have paid for this product and now youre going back on that. of course people are going to be upset.
The devs have decided to abandon the game to work on new projects. This isn't unheard of with EA, but the speed at which they did this after a sale seems pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Abandoned game. Bad decision
Avoid!!! Don't buy!!! DO NOT BUY. The developers abandoned Die For The Lich after releasing it into Early Access, saying they want to take a break and move on to new projects. They sold an Early Access game, created expectations of continued development, and then walked away to milk new projects that they'll abandon. In my opinion, this completely defeats the purpose of Early Access. We pay expecting the game to improve over time, not to be abandoned a few months later. I deeply regret buying this game and supporting developers who leave an Early Access project behind so quickly, never again - dropping on ingore list. If you just purchased the game recently, contact Steam and ask for a refund asap.
Abandonned game, tried to get a refund 3 times with no clear explaination why my requests were unsuccessful. It had promise but is clearly still an unfinished game. This is the last time I will ever put money towards early access games on steam and the last time I purchase anything from 2 left thumbs.
The game is (was) really fun and had great potential but now when the developers have abandoned the game i can not recommend it. It feels unfinished, to short and even the "full" game feels like a expanded demo. The foundation is great and the dice building in this game is one of the better of its kind but im sad to say, as it stands its not worth your money. Personally im going to stay away from this developer since they abandon a game so close (about 5 months) after releasing it in EA.
Great concept, but the demo flowed better than the EA version. (I have 47 hours on the demo too) This is the type of developer that's dangerous to EA buyers... They make updates that fundementaly change things (not for the better)... ... and now they just announced they are stopping development on the game. Stay away... don't support this type of developer if you can help it.
Die for the Lich is a decent take on the genre of 'slay the spire but with dice', it has a decent amount of variety and complexity that makes choosing your dice and weapons vital to success. Unfortunately the devs have had to suspend development of the game due to it being unsustainable. This is unfortunate but they were open and honest which is more than I can say for some early access developers. Hopefully they'll return to this game in the future. I'd recommend it (mainly on discount).
People actually spent money to get the game abandoned after not even a year. I was actually waiting em to finish it to really play it. Not buying another game of em again.
Devs ran out of $ after 5 months of Early Access. With that kind of timeline, I can't imagine how they actually ever had a plan to finish DftL in the first place without 20k units sold but that's just the spunky upstart charm of an Early Access game and that thrilling 'will they or won't they finish it?' angle it brings. There's a high quality product in here but a clearly unfinished one in need of serious balancing. The devs have a lot to be proud of though, which is shame since ultimately there's nothing to get excited about since 1.0 is effectively cancelled. Tough break for the buyers and devs, which is always an unfortunate combo of tough breaks. There's potential for a really interesting game here. No hard feelings though. Not mad, just disappointed.
