Quite a fun game with incredible production values and glaring balance issues. By that I mean once you progress far enough into the challenges and difficulty, you'll frequently be faced with unwinnable scenarios based purely on how unlucky you were in the random application of the modifiers. An example would be getting stuck on a boss that requires you to kill its two mobs in order for it to take any damage at all, but both mobs getting hit with a status that makes them untargetable until the targetable enemy is destroyed (in this case, the boss, randomly selected, which cannot be directly damaged). It absolutely still gets a recommend from me. There's a very good amount of fun to be had here and it matches the price. I also just love how it looks. This just isn't the kind of roguelike that I'm able to sink a serious amount of time into (although what you consider serious may vary). The deeper I get into it, the less patient I am with the RNG.
Another really fun dice roguelite. It kind of combines Pokemon with dicebuilding, except that catching them is free and also there's interesting mechanic of controlling opposing moves. Which is my favorite part of the game as it deepens counterplay and thinking about your synergies quite a lot. The creatures are also designed in interesting ways, they have a bunch of unique abilitis that can be built around. It's also nicely designed on the graphical and audio sides. One small gripe with it is that some things could be explained better with tooltips, e.g. what the map POIs are - you learn it on the fly, but decision making on the first run gets hindered. Overall an 8/10 game for me and I recommend it for any roguelite/creature game fan - especially if it gets bundled, which is more likely now that it has been in HB.
5.5/10 Not particularly recommended but not actively bad either. This game lacks the sauce for me. I think its well designed, unique and has a lot of good player choice in each run. On paper everything is fine. In practice its just not hooking me. The closest comparison to this game is Slice and Dice you largely swap chimeras with a series of challses that evovle and that game is amazing. Those battles are creative and the flow is quick and snappy. This games combat drags on a bit with idle dice and rotations that aren't impactful. Starvadars explores movement in a run based game and finds a way to make that super fun. Here it certainly matters but its just not part of the fun and many times I just opt to not use that dice for a variety of reasons. I got this game as part of a humble choice monthly bundle. Glad I played it. The quality of card and dice games is extremely high and this just doesn't break through enough. Its fine. I struggle to recommend it. Personal Feedback: I think the dice customization stuff is AWESOME but underutilized here...I feel like you need at LEAST twice as many ways to pick new dice faces over the course of the run.
