Very good game so far. The story telling is nice and the art style and use of animations is cool, it feels very polished. From snoot game to wani to Devlog I cant wait to see how this game turns out in the future!
Currently this is the best Snoot-like fangame out there. The fact that it's on Steam is proof of the team's ambition. And that team has been as good at keeping to their goals as you can hope for from a small indie dev team. If you liked Snootgame and I Wani Hug That Gator, you're probably going to like this game. It's got a lot of heart and it feels sufficiently different from those other games too. Of all things, I would compare it to Persona 4 in that it has that vibe of a bunch of friends hanging out and doing things. Romance included! I believe in this project enough that I bought it and I haven't been disappointed so far.

An amazing roughly 6.5 Hours of a demo. I certainly feel attached to the characters already. Achievements, as of now, appear to be broken for me as i have not yet received any for doing what i presume to be all the pre-requisites for completion, oh well. There are also a couple of visual bugs when using the skip function to see unseen text like half of a scene appearing or a character not being on screen and having dialogue or when checking Theo's texts what look like some of Dev's responses are also sent from Theo's messaging side. That said it never crashed or broke when i took my time and i could care less if they were fixed (as of now) as long as i get more of all my dinosaur babies. Anyway... The Rise of Snoot-likes is upon us and i will eat them all.
REALLY COOL VN love it im exited for future story updates can recomand all of those frenchises and support them
Early Access games are extremely difficult to do reviews for whether it be positive or negative. What a developer is doing by asking for your hard-earned cash, while offering an unfinished product in return, is asking you to believe in the potential of what their finished game could be. So by reviewing Devlog in it's current state i want to try and find a middle ground whilst still keeping a positive review. I want to try to justify why i think these developers deserve your attention, if not necessarily your money right away. Devlog: A Post-Modern College Experience is the latest in a surprisingly popular line of visual novels inspired by a horrifically bad Sony sponsored dino rhythm game thing. Snoot Game was the first and I Wani Hug that Gator was the second, both created by the absolute mad lads that came together from 4chan now known as Cavemanon. These games are necessary to bring up because these two visual novels are not only phenominally well made, but became so popular they created many imitation studios that wanted to try their own hand at the now popular "Snoot-like" genre. Whether they are fanfiction of the original two VN's or something new that takes clear inspiration from them. Devlog is of the later. A story of a human called Dev getting a free ride into a computer college filled with anthro dino-people, finding a friendship group of mis-matched nutters and going on to try and make a video game together with some possible romance options along the way. There are a lot of positives to mention but i will try to keep things brief: - The art for characters and backgrounds absolutely pop. Everything is full of colour and character. Sprites have many variations for each character and you can feel the personality oozing out of each unique frame. The design of each character is very well done as well. Event CG's are all well done, positively oozing with charm and really helping to sell the scene. - The writing is consistently engaging and funny. Events flow well together and i was consistently entertained by the antics these characters get into. It's much more light hearted than I'd expected so far and it's a very enjoyable read. - Choices do have a reasonable amount of divergence. So far even minor choices can lead to small events or even change future scenes. Major choices have obvious paths that take you down extended scenes unique to your path. I really look forward to seeing how all these choices can pan out in the future. - Animations are more common than you'd expect and breath life into certain scenes. Even the standard sprites can bounce and move around the screen which really helps sell the energy of the cast. - The characters are really likeable. This is probably the most important thing for a VN to get right for me and Devlog absolutely nails it. You really feel the spirit of this rag tag group of people trying their best to get along and also focus creating something special. I really love every member of the main group with each of their unqiue, and sometimes clashing personalities. The main character Dev has more character than i'd expect out of something like this as well and has a personality and insecurities all his own from the very start. It's great to see a VN where the main character isn't just a puppet until the choices you make define them. This all sounds great so far, right? A VN with a fun story about lovable characters creating a game together! Well, there's a very big asterisk that i must bring up with all of this praise: *Early Access. Not finished. 1/5 of the story completed. This is a demo to show to the public that you can buy to show support of the developers vision. A demo that's priced at $28.50 dollary-doos from down-under m8. That's pretty bitter pill to swallow. That's hardly the only issue here as there are currently a few visual bugs throughout as well. It's very ironic to see a scene where the characters marvel at a poorly coded alpha of a VN, where characters glitch of the scene randomly, when I literally just watched multiple scenes of cleaning up a shed play out where most of the character's were either bunched together or put off screen. I know this is a fresh Early Access release but that was unintentionally hilarious. All that being said, i really did enjoy my time with these characters and i want to see more. I just now have to wait for an estimated year to get the full (hopefully funny glitch free) package. That's why i started this review of Devlog with the rant about reviewing Early Access. Things can change, the story could take a nose dive or it could end up as good or even better than a Cavemanon offering, the development could take longer than expected or maybe not even deliver in the end. Shut-in Studios are asking for you to believe in their vision of what this game and story could turn out to be. I've seen enough to be convinced and I'm along for the ride. I really mean it when i say this could end up being one of my favourite "Snoot-like" VN casts if they stick the landing. I really want to see where the story, choices and all possible endings can go. I really do believe Devlog: A Post-Modern College Experience is worthy of your attention and a wishlist. But $28.50 for a VN demo is a hard ask. Even if the developers are clear in saying this is primarily to keep the price consistent with full release and just to offer fans of this project a way to support the developers. I recommend keeping an eye on Devlog at the bare minimum, but if you're asking me if it's worth it for the price to give support to an incomplete project i would just have to say no. At least not yet. As i said I'm convinced and am here for the ride. So let's wait and see if all this potential leads to something great.

Such a good demo, and i think it truly has the potential to be the best of the best when it comes to Furry/Scaly Visual Novels 10/10
