It is like the first with improvement. So why am I not thumbs uping this one like I did the first game? Because it is like the first one too much. The new classes are nice...but the game feels, well....not necessary. If you have the first, stick with it. If you don't then feel free to get either. But both....not necessary. Edit to review: i want to add a couple more things that make the class option useless. 1. One of the major issues with the game has not been adjusted: you still have to buy all weapons in order to unlock the next one on the list. This is mildly annoying when you get a good speed weapon, but the next batch will drop speed for a while...yet you still have to get each one to keep progressing. Yet it makes the freedom of the Rogue completely useless, because when you find if you prefer close or ranged, you still have to buy each weapon one by one in order...and they are mixed. So you have no choice but to swap back and forth between combat styles to get stronger. 2. Ranged combat on the Mage is not as good as it sounds. I like the idea of shooting fireballs, but the range is only about 50% longer than that of a sword. He might as well be a spear man instead...and it would feel exactly the same. But spears could be added to the barbarian...thus no point in classes.
A fun simple roguelite rpg platformer that is a good time to plug in a controller and turn your brain off to. Not the highest quality port by any means, but sufficient. 7/10.
pretty good dungeon crawler one bad point though: the movement is a bit weird, you'll continue move a little bit after you stop pressing an arrow key :/
Devious Dungeon 2 is a light hack and slash dungeon crawler where you level up, kill monsters and buy gear and collect treasure. Rather than a sequel to the first game, this game feels like a big update. While it is a fun game, and playing it casually was nice, I had a some personal disagreements with it. TL:DR on the last paragraph 1) I do not know this for sure but each time you level up, the exp required for the next one is exponentially bigger, meaning that by level 25-ish or 30-ish you will never get enough exp from beating enemies to actually levels. The only way to level up would be finding EXP tomes which gives you 1rd of the exp required to level up. Makes killing enemies pointless so you might just try to avoid them most of the late game 2) All the ranged weapons gravely need a higher range (playing the Rogue, didn't try the mage/barbarian). Yes, all enemies have very simple AI and that might make some areas too easy. But with the design of some of the Dungeons it would make it challenging still. Because the sword's reach is more of a circular range, the ranged weapon's reach is on a more thin and direct path. I would have loved it if I could pick 2 weapons and switch between them while in the dungeon. 3) Buying everything from the store will take you ages, you'll likely beat the game way, WAY before that. You'll run out of quests eventually meaning all you have left is grinding for money, 100% completion will be boring. Quests do get boring too though, they're always 'kill this', 'break that', 'collect this'. 4) I liked that some of the bosses mimic enemies you had to fought around the current Dungeon, that made it feel coherent that they are the big baddie of this floor. Only issue is you fight all of the bosses more or less the same way, there is nothing unique nor memorable or interesting about them. A solution would be to have you do a specific task while dodging the enemy, something that would deal big damage to it. -Imagine the boss is huge and surrounded by a big raid from town, there are villagers or any type npc that fits the story pulling balistas from the sides of the screen, others shoots arrows. You need to dodge both enemy shots and npc shots as the ballista's load their bolt that is attached to a chain. Everytime a ballista managed to shoot it incapacitate a limb making the enemy easier as your health depletes from the chaos. 5) The game feels is identical to the previous game for the most part. little was improved on or made more interesting, and even the stuff that was interesting wasn't. Mini-bosses) cool idea, could have been implemented in a more interesting way Treasure) the real challenge would be not finding any of them. Pick a class) you cannot change class in the same game, you have to start again from scratch and you don't need to try them all to get all achievements. To be honest I wouldn't want to because it would just end up being repetitive if it was. 6) There is this obstacle attached with a spinning knife in the Crypt's dungeon. It's reach makes no sense, it will continuously hit you when it shouldn't sometimes even when you're the opposite side of it, completely broken. I think the dungeons themselves can be improved upon if the developer can figure out a rogue-like game generation to them. All things concerned this is an enjoyable game, the music is fantastic and graphics are lovely! therefore I still recommend it, and I do want to see what Devious Dungeon 3 will bring to the table.
It's ok but first game was better
Uma espécie de clone barato de Rogue Legacy, divertido e com mais classes e conteúdo que o primeiro jogo.
Belle petite découvert. Un jeu simple et amusant lorsqu'on ne veut pas se prendre la tête.
So many memories of playing this and its predecessor on my iPod touch in the 2010s it’s a great little game Simple as that.
I played it while listening to the podcast We Hate Movies.
