I really want to like this game, but i can't recommend this to others in the state that it's in now. This game is very clearly unfinished and buggy. The status bars of the dinos drain inconsistently. Sometimes they tick down every other second, sometimes its every second, if you switch between overlay mode and full screen, it can break the bars and cause them to freeze until you restart the game. The dinosaurs themselves are cute, but require much more management that i was anticipating. The dinosaurs eat and sleep by themselves, but you have to pet them to make sure they eat. With the inconsistent bars, sometimes they want to get pet every 5 minutes, other times it's every minute. Because of how much time they need to get pet, it makes it feel less like a pet that casually hangs around with you and does it's own thing and more like a ticking time-bomb of sadness. This wouldn't bother me so much, if the times for the dinosaurs growing up was scaled around this, but its not. The dinosaurs can also get stuck mid animation, like with eating or sleeping. This game has a lot of potential, and i really want to see it grow and flourish, bu it's very flawed as now. This is stuff i were to expect from an early access game, not a game that claims to be a full release.
dev if you see this, know that this game can become something unique and amazing....but it just needs some minor QoL improvements here and there. Please give us an update about this game. Many people fear its been abandoned.
Buggy program, that requires too much babysitting. You start with an egg, with time it hatches, and with clicks the process is hastened. You have to place plants and meat to feed the dinosaurs, else they die. If you don't pet them, they refuse to eat and die. There is a mode that makes the dinosaurs walk on the desktop. This didn't work for me. Furthermore during my two hours the currency stopped accumulating, a restart fixed it. I'm gonna ask for a refund, this is unfinished imo. A cute little title which has little dinos goes across the screen to their own beat! if you like pet simulator games then this might be for you! before going on in the list beware that in my opinion this game is not a fully finished title, and needs much more work before I could confidently say its a full release. THINGS I ENJOYED: ·this game is super tamagochi-esque, involving earning dna overtime you spend on different dinos, food for your dinos and toys. ·I really love the work put into animations as the dinos cross the screen, eat and sleep. their super bouncy and just kinda clumsy looking its adorable. ·The plants moving when your cursor fly's over them is a nice little touch i appreciate a lot! ·sometimes the animations can mess up on the dinos when they eat/sleep and usually makes the dinos look as if they were getting jiggy with it, completely unintentional for sure, but it makes me laugh. ·the music that kicks in when playing in full screen mode is a delight and fits the light hearted theme perfectly, a soothing 8-bit piano to accompany your caring adventure THINGS THAT NEED WORK: (theres a bit) ·first of all, how fast your dinos die without constant petting. like the Tama, you cant leave this little dude alone for 20 mins or its game over, even with evolutions (evolutions=upgrading your dinos stats so they dont run out as easy) its rough. ·if you switch from fullscreen mode to overlay mode (or vice-versa) your dna will stop collecting, and soon you've spent an hour collecting nothing ·the balls decsrption says "Will make your dinosaurs happy". dont be fooled, the mechanic doesn't work as of yet so the only way to increase happiness is to pet your dinosaurs. ·if the balls physics mess up a little bit (gets trapped between two dinos, you pet a dino as their pushing it, if you bounce it too much, when it wants to ect.) it'll phase through the ground to never be seen again, and when it is a massive investment of points it sucks to lose it. ·problems with the dinosuars in general, the trike will become invisible, the para will become unpettable for some reason and more. ·when in overlay mode the interaction square incorrectly lays across the dinos, making it difficult if not impossible to pet so you have to switch to full screen mode. ·cant clean in overlay mode ·menu wont update properly, showing the wrong stats or in some cases no stats at all. fix by clicking on the little egg to refresh menu. FINAL THOUGHTS this game could really go somewhere but it really needs to make some updates if it were to do so. for now making some "quality of life" improvements would help immensely. a "re-spawn" button on the ball to recall it would be nice, a way to maybe pick up the dinos to reset their animations/state and drop them down in case of any errors in their behaviour happen. (I would like to pick them up anyway, cutie-patooies!) and either bigger upgrades on the evolution or just slow down the needs a bit because by god, I've got SO MUCH Dino blood on my hands because i needed to go to the toilet. :( I still really love this little game and is worth the little bit of money to have a little companion on screen with me!
cool idea on paper but basically nothing about this works. the worst is that any time i try to grow my dinosaurs to a bigger size the game hard crashes. and for a game where the whole interaction is idly gaining dna and spending it to grow dinosaurs the main thing you can do just doesnt work. also for a game that has an option to run as a bar over other programs its broken a you have to minimize everything and be at your desktop to actually interact with anything.
Extremely Buggy even though its not in early access. The only positive is cute pixel art.
The overlay is so misaligned on 5120x1440 that the game is unusable, unfortunately. Since it's literally unplayable I can't recommend.
I liked the game, it was cute and I love dinosaurs BUT it doesn't run, I tried to keep going to get all achievements but it's impossible due to basic issues. It crashes when you get any kind of clutter in game, dinosaurs dont show up on screen, no updates on steam. Im pretty sure the dude has just abandoned the game because it's too hard to fix.
Basically nothing to do. No sound effects Can't interact with dinosaurs or anything when on desktop mode Less than 10 dinosaurs Acts like a mobile game where you have to sit for hours to gain anything
totally bug, i'm playing only for the achievements, but it is awfull. i have all the dinos bugged. all dead, but i have 2 still counting as alive and growing for the adult and elder achievements. but the game is growing in RAM comsumption and after 3-6h, if i don't reset the game, it makes my PC crash.
