Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.29/day in the week to Aug 31 → 1.86/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.5/day in the week to Jul 21 → 1.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

8.5/10: I really enjoyed this game. I kinda played it like a mobile game, I was RDPing into my PC and just tapping on my phone screen to control everything. Surprisingly, it worked well. Watching everything go pew pew pew~~~~~ while trying out different loot and weapons was hella fun! B) My only complaint is that a few UI elements could be better. For example, upgrading crit chance can be confusing because it sometimes just sits at 42% even after you level it up multiple times, which looks like a bug. Turns out it’s just missing the decimal point in the display.
oddly catchy

game is ok, the only problem is, even without using the 2x mode, you will have more than enough time to get 100% and will still be missing the "play X hours" achievements, so right now I have to leave the game open for 64 more hours just to get all of them
The point of idle games like this one is to be sort of an advanced version of a virtual pet. There's not much "game" about it. You just let it do its thing on its own and occasionally intervene to nudge things around. Its purpose is to sit on a corner of your screen and look pretty while you do other things. On that regard, Desktop Defender succeeds quite well. On its own the game will gather resources and you can pop in at any time to spend them in boosts, equipment and weapons that in turn will allow those resources to be gathered in larger quantities, which then will allow you to unlock more stuff and so on. Very simple, but that's the point. The only issue I have with it is that it's a bit of a resource hog. Yes, there are a bunch of flashy effects. but this thing consumes so much that my browser keep refreshing whenever I switch tabs while the game it's on. Lowering the settings helps a bit, but I don't understand why it happens when other, more graphically intensive games don't have this issue on my PC.
nice afk game

一个增量游戏,这么多道具有负面效果,真的很恶心
Recommended 👍 Desktop Defender is one of those rare idle games that actually respects your time while still giving you that constant "just one more upgrade" itch. First, a huge shoutout to the achievements. They're actually... achievable. Imagine that. Instead of asking you to destroy 14.7 trillion watermelons while standing on one foot during a leap year (I'm looking at you, The Watermelon Game), Desktop Defender's achievements feel like realistic milestones that reward you for simply playing the game. The upgrades, equipment, and weapons also deserve some praise. Most of the time when you unlock something, you can actually feel the difference. Your numbers go up, enemies disappear faster, and your little desktop defender starts looking like it skipped the tutorial and went straight to "problem solver." Ascending also feels worthwhile. Unlike some idle games where prestige might as well be a placebo, the stat boosts here genuinely seem to make the next run faster and smoother. You can tell your previous suffering wasn't entirely in vain. Then there's the rebirth system. I thought I knew what "rebirth" meant. Silly me. Apparently in Desktop Defender, "rebirth" means start over... except here's a hidden skill tree you didn't know existed that survives the rebirth. That's not a rebirth—that's reincarnation with your résumé and retirement account still intact. If we're being philosophically accurate, a true rebirth should wipe everything. But I'm certainly not complaining once I found it. I just laughed wondering who decided to hide an entire progression system behind the button labeled "Start Over." Overall, this is a great little idle game that doesn't demand constant babysitting. Let it run, check in occasionally, buy some upgrades, ascend, accidentally discover another layer of progression you didn't know existed, and watch your desktop become increasingly overqualified for defending itself. Easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys idle games with meaningful progression, sensible achievements, and just enough surprises to keep you clicking.
