Ignore my playtime - my first playthrough was on PS5, and I decided to buy it on Steam as well. This game is incredible. It's fast-paced, creative, and brimming with love. It kept evolving mechanically throughout the campaign, constantly staying fresh and keeping me on my toes. The devs kept finding new and fun ideas for levels, and somehow put a bunch of fun setpieces and bosses into the game, even though it's a $20 indie title. They really went above and beyond on this thing. The soundtrack absolutely slaps. Everyone who made music for this game put out absolute bangers, and I just put that thang on repeat. I will say, one of the last mechanics introduced in the game was one too many for my brain to easily keep track of, and I had trouble keeping up on a few of those levels. Up until that point I had been able to focus on my combo, but then it felt like I was just trying to stay alive. In my next playthrough, I want to be able to style on those levels, rather than just survive. Finally, without delving into spoilers, I just want to praise the escalation that pushes through the end of the game. I'm really impressed at the level of imagination and craftmanship that went into the last few levels in particular. I get excited just thinking about it, and can't wait to play them again.

I loved this game! It was so fresh and charming. I was enjoying my time with it but then the 7th boss appeared and I have no words, truly a masterpiece.

A 10/10 from start to finish. Each chapter is a dedication to each gimmick and it all culminates in some of the most fun I have had in a long time. If you have 20 bucks and enjoy video games buy this.
If the idea of skateboarding trains sounds even remotely interesting to you, Denshattack! will not disappoint.
