Great gameplay completely blew my ♥♥♥♥ smoove off with how peak it is. definitely worth full price but i'd wait for a deal personally.
In the full 9 hours I played and beat the main story of Denshattack and all I have to say is: This game made me feel like a kid again. The game is so much fun, once your out of the two tutorial levels the game, much like a train, just goes and keeps on going adding new mechanics as you go giving you a small tutorial before throwing you in. The tricks are fun to pull off and are pretty difficult if you're not used to doing quarter circles and half circles. The music also makes each track feel crazy, you got the likes of Tea Lopes and Shoji Meguro along with guest stars like 2Mello and the like. The story is silly and fun the characters are all pretty unique and interesting. If you haven't gotten this game I 100% suggest this game even at full price!

Sick game! Sick music! Sick visuals! Sick everything! One note to the devs: Try adding a coop mode of some sorts, maybe a time trial or race mode with friends, would be an addition to the sick-o-meter!
OBLIGATORY MULTI TRACK DRIFTING REFERENCE
This game, this game right here is a flawless example of giving players what they want, and simultaneously things they never known they needed. Only a few games have ever pulled that off, and one of those was the first Halo.
The Ghost of Oita Mountain
The heroine already knows how to operate a train. I assume she held the flashlight while her dad worked on restoring Ol' Reliable, and now she uses it to deliver [strike]tofu[/strike] a family recipe of tonkotsu (pork) ramen. So starting off, the hero doesn't "suddenly know how to do things" but in fact has years of experience and a rock solid foundation of the basics of
DENSHATTACK!
(It's literal meaning is attack of the electric trains) So is this game on-rails? Absolutely. It's an on-rails, skateboard-ish sport and stunt game, and it is extremely fast-paced. You need to have quick reflexes; tricks and things, however, are simplified. There's only a handful of basic tricks and a few handfuls of advanced tricks, as well as manuals. The objective is to chain them to unlock the Eight Million Roads, which you should do every level. Why eight? It's a good luck number in Japan, and as an English acronym it's EMR or EM Road. The game's focus is less on complexity and more on control and precision. It understands that faster travel means more complex stunts aren't accessible by average players. Not everyone can do a 1440 Bus Driver Superflip (wait that's BMX) or a "WAY DEE'S WACK!" while travelling at Mach Jove. Goals per level are simple: You have a handful of "dares" that involve either unique obstacles or skill mastery challenges, plus spray cans for decals and film reels for the fanzines, and of course a par time and score to beat as well as how many dares you complete in a single run. One of the things I noticed is that sometimes the player's character takes over, like during the first boss fight as soon as you open The Eight Million Roads? She'll change lanes immediately onto the EMR and chase after the primadonna clique's girlboss's mech made out of train cars. Mechadensh? Denshpla? Either way you look at it, it's clearly another TTGL reference. I'm not complaining, however. That show was iconic.
TRAINS ARE YOUR SOUL, MAN.
This game has an eighty tune OST with a ton of different guest composers, even one from Sega and another from SMT/Persona, and of course, one of the original composers from JSR. Speaking of JSR, it nails the celshaded look of those sorts of games. The amount of work put into this is crazy because there are not five but NINE whole regions with ten or so missions a piece. Each level is handcrafted, not procgen. Each mission has its own track from that eighty track album. There is also a track for every menu, even the pause menu (except during boss levels!), the track introductory, and each kind of special location like the Onsens, fanzine publishers, and etc. They spared no expense with this game. Money was no object and they pulled it off, getting fantastic ratings day one of release, and my reaction is no different. Absolute 10 out of 10. Also, "Train-A-Go-Go" is new rock anthem for 2026; its right up there with Asterisk and Ready Steady Go (not the one from The Bourne Identity, but that one is an anthem, too). PS: BIGGGGG UP TO THE FRENCH MASSIV I know y'all love y'all's arcade games, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Techno, and DnB, as much as the Japanese do. I know this flashlight company, HDS Systems, that uses French-made switches? They must be arcade machine-rated. Are these used in DJ TechTools' Midi Fighter? I don't know, but I know y'all should get mad props for this game. Biggg up Tee Lopes and the kru for bringing back the Funk since Sonic Mania (and Mr Whitehead for getting Sonic CD onto the Windows Phone, YES I'M SERIOUS, so my uncultured self could experience Toei Sonic. He's so OP he doesn't even need the Chaos Emeralds).
thrilling and unique
I love this game so so much. I have just beaten the last mission in the game and I just want the developers to PLEASE make more missions. I will gladly pay for mission DLC's or more of the game. I love story as well. The only problem I had was in the second to last mission I got in a soft lock in the part where Yoshie throws you in her mecha. I fell into the abyss and then I was stuck repeatably falling in the abyss and had to restart the mission. But that is a small problem as now I could replay one of the best missions in the game. It took me an insanely long time to realise how the combo mechanic worked (probably because I can't read tutorials) but when I learnt it, the game got so much better. I am definitely going to be trying to get gold medal in all stages now but man that was such a fun game.
Densha de D meats Tony Hawk Pro Skater Story is enjoyable, and despite being made by Spanish studio, game is full of Japanese references and tropes. Soundtrack is a banger, with cameos from better known artists. Gameplay design of bosses is top notch and imho the highlight of the game.
