This VN expands on the lore of Demonheart, but is a standalone game taking place on a different continent.

Shar - A young witch from a tropical village in El'shei. She specializes in benevolent magic, like her mother, the Oracle of Chtaz. Shar attracts the attention of a more powerful and famous witch, and receives an invitation to become her assistant.
Eniri - A witch respected in the big city and beyond, she is Shar's host and the mistress of her mansion. She can’t help herself from conducting dangerous experiments. Strict and merciless toward those she sees as inferior, she will try to teach Shar her views about life, social roles and magic.
Esmius - A demonspawn trapped by Eniri and turned into her unwilling servant. He appears to take his imprisonment well, even to the point of joking and teasing others. It feels like he's hiding a deep pain inside, but Shar can't figure out which part of him is a lie.
Sirath - The younger brother of the great witch Eniri. As a male, he can't continue the family tradition of witchcraft, but Eniri still has a use for him in the family business - mixing potions. Sirath envies his sister and her witch associates, and will keep a close eye on Shar when she joins the household.
Nissa - A girl that Shar meets in the marketplace of the big city, Nissa acts like a bit of a rogue. She is quick to decide she wants to be Shar's friend. She will show Shar around the city, share the local gossip, and want to learn everyone's juicy secrets.
Zhan - Eniri's family friend, he is a smith who has joined in on the business of selling magic trinkets. He will be there to support Shar as she adapts to her new home. He is unaware of the shady practices going on in his old friend’s basement.

This is a beautiful visual novel in the series Demonheart. This time, it is set in a different land and features various characters. You play as Shar, a young witch who moves in with Eniri, a famous witch everyone wishes to learn from. However, Shar's dreams of becoming the best witch have dissolved as she discovers a big secret Eniri is hiding; our protagonist will try to contact her mother, the oracle who can see the future and sense people's intentions; this time, she sends her a mysterious message keeping Shar thinking if all the people around her intending to harm her. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3102507267 The love interest options are few; I prefer going with Sirath, the witch -Enari's- younger brother who hates your guts, a perfect tsundre since the other option is a lying demon who couldn't get through to me. Somehow, his personality didn't click with me at all. I have played half of his route, enjoying it, but I can't see myself fitting as a love interest as the story goes. The good thing is that this game has five different endings; I earned two, and it took me around 11 hours to do that; the game is good and has a high replay value. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3102506984 I found the side characters very interesting, and depending on your responses and doing favors to him, their fates will change at the end of the game. I wished Zhan was a love interest. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3102507378 Pros: +Interesting story. +Excellent writing. +Choices and consequences. +Beautiful soundtracks. +Well-done voice-over. +Good character design. +Character development. +Unlimited save files. +Good game length. +Multiple endings and routes (Total of 5 endings) +Steam achievements. Cons: -I wished there were more love interest options. I enjoyed it so much that I know I'll get more content when I get the rest of the endings. Each option you choose will give you a different conversation branch tree. The game is enormous and a good read. I highly recommend it to people who enjoyed the first games and who are looking for an Otome VN. For the price, it's a bad otome game. You might enjoy this, but I think if you do, it's largely because you haven't played a better otome game yet. Which is fine, but this isn't the game I'd throw my money at the genre with first. I 100%'d it in 5 hours, with about 30 minutes of that afk, and I am a faster reader, but it is very short. There's about 4 endings, all of which lock during 1 prominent choice at different points in the same route, and there's not much of a relationship meter like in the first Demonheart game (so dialogue often repeats with not much variance on route). There's not many CGs and the quality varies between them quite a lot (for example, Esmius's was miles better than Nissa's). The UI design is also a little clunkier than most otome games, and the skip function is tedious. And they ditched the personality system that I enjoyed in the first one (but they are bringing it back). As for the story, which is the main thing people come to this series for, it was decidedly mid. I enjoyed the universe and the concept of witches trying to obtain demon flesh with the unwilling help of a demonspawn slave, but truthfully I could have enjoyed the most trash premise and terrible execution purely because I love this world and lore. The stories fall flat and a lot of interesting threads are barely touched on, and where I would be tricked and surprised at plot twists in Demonheart, this felt very standard. Which arguably, isn't a bad thing - but it's not the quality I've come to expect from this studio. Purely because they've done better. The characters motives and feelings also got explained to us less, so I couldn't really connect with this the same way. In particular, I really hated this player-character and felt she was so much less than Bright in every way, as I often found myself going "I would pick none of these options" and then cringing at her. It felt much shorter for the same price and felt like the content overall was way lower quality. Maybe take this with a pinch of salt, as I've only played this after hearing about the patch to add some content about this game into the Demonheart: Hunters game, and wanted to understand it first. I'll likely play the Cursed Trial when it's complete, because I am a simp and it looks much more like the other Demonheart game. But alas, I'm not the target market to buy this game, nor did I go "oooh, a blue dude" and buy it on launch. Final thoughts: get it when it's on sale, otherwise skip it and go to that instead. Unless you're really desperate for more Demonheart content, or new to the genre with a lot of money to waste. Edit: For anybody wishing to start the demonheart games, this could be considered a prologue to the first game.
Demonheart: The Ice Demon has some really great characters, a lot of story potential, and an interesting tie-in to the original game, but ultimately feels unfinished. I played through two routes: Esmius’ and Sirath’s. While not nearly as long as a playthrough in the original game, Sirath’s at least feels like a complete story. Unfortunately, Esmius’ storyline is even shorter, with a lot of abrupt and rather nonsensical plot twists that don’t fit the characters, and a rather abrupt ending. It was really unsatisfying. I also wanted to complain about the relationships not making much sense either, but I replayed the original game after this and was reminded how little sense it made for the MC to fall in love with literally anyone in either game, so I’ll give that a pass. Remember kiddos, demon-romancing VNs are probably not suitable role models for healthy relationships… As a fun tidbit/bit of an annoyance for those who have played the original game,
some of the plot of the original games implies a particular route is more canon than the others
.
The art was great, but the romance felt rushed and forced. Was more of a $5 game, definitely not worth $20.
Sirath

Goodness gracious! The women in this game are freaking rage inducing! Their favorite thing is "MEN ARE BAD!!!" and everyone is beneath them. At least give us a reason why "all men suck and should only be subservient lil fs"? But there is no world building/character stuff about that! Goodness! I nearly attempted to bat the digital game at the moon after the upteenth time a critique about a guy came up! This is labeled as an "OTOME" game!!! Shouldn't you be ENDEARING the guys to us?! Why were the women the only ones ending up being useful (minus the MC that is)?! ERGH!!! As for the women themselves... One of them is worse than the demons themselves. The other one... Constantly treats Sirath like sheet... Even though it was HER OWN CHOICE TO DO THAT TO HIM!!! BUT NO. ONLY HE IS TO BLAME!!! WTF?! The only GUY who doesn't get HATE is Zhan. I wonder why that is? Hmm... What a *mystery*. Ah and the MC? She is overly naive, dumb in most cases and yet she *does have some* intelligence, and is just there for free use. Which she not only *likes*... She begs for more............... For real? Ah and everyone else has to do the work for her. She is a "Princess" after all... -.-" The story... I don't know anymore! Some parts were interesting I suppose? But mix that with hatred and vitriol, lack of information about characters, forced romance and you'll get... Eh? Like seriously? On Esmi's route? She just falls for him instantly, without trusting him first and then she utters:
"it's okay if I am his concubine".
Really? Did it ever occur to you what demonic nature is? Does the word "manipulation" even occur to you? Hell! She wouldn't even believe when other people *already knew* the truth. "There is no way! People aren't bad!" OMG! F OFF MISSY! You are far, far worse than my young, naive self used to be!!! Sirath's route seems to be longer, but he is a self-deprecating, "lowly" male who has nothing and is a nobody. ....................................... Then he presents his tool and the MC can no longer resist him.................................................................................................... Then begs for more.......... WTH WAS I READING?! The only redeeming part of the story was when
The blonde bint was being controlled by the demon and she went to attack the red-headed super and overly terrible freaking piece of sheet. The MC runs off and I imagined they killed each other. Painfully. Suffering.
Those two terrible women deserve one another after all. They can go at each other every second of the day. And they do. Because they are just horrendous!!! Anyway. I am done now.
I really enjoyed Demonheart: The ice demon! There is soooooooo many dialogue choices and the art work is my ABSOLUTE favorite part. Esmius had me in a choke-hold in my first play through and then Sirath, I thoroughly enjoyed how different the story can be just by circumstance of choosing a certain dialogue option. I do wish there was maybe even one or two more romanceable characters but other than that, 10/10
