About
Become the last light in a demon-infested city
Demons have devoured the soul of a modern metropolis. Street by street, block by block, the city sinks into neon-soaked despair—until you arrive. As the LightBringer, you’re thrown into a VR roguelite bullet-hell where every run is a desperate exorcism and every shot is a prayer.
Cleanse the streets, face manifestations of human vice, and push through waves of cursed projectiles in a dark, stylized world of harsh contrast and toxic, multicolored bloom.
------------------------------------------------------------------
VR ROGUELITE BULLET-HELL
This is a VR-only shooter built around high speed, dodging, and constant decision-making:
Squeeze through dense bullet patterns in full VR, dodging with your whole body—not just your controller.
Make meaningful choices every run—pick perks, weapons, and routes.
Fall, learn, grow stronger, and return—the city won’t cleanse itself.
------------------------------------------------------------------
FIVE WEAPONS, EACH WITH ITS OWN TWIST
You’re not bringing mercy—you’re bringing tools of purification. Each weapon has a special firing mode and distinct feel in VR:
Lighters – flame pistols that turn precise shots into incendiary bursts.
Neon Sabers – glowing energy blades for stylish close-quarters exorcisms.
Accumulators – tesla machine guns spitting chains of electric arcs.
Radiators – radioactive blaster-shotguns that melt anything up close.
Icicles – ice rifles that freeze, slow, and control the battlefield.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Experiment, swap weapons between encounters, and combine them with perks to create your own style of demon-cleansing.
------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSSES BORN FROM HUMAN VICES
Face a demonic hierarchy built from the worst in humanity:
12 demon bosses ruling over different streets.
4 mega bosses that break the usual rules of combat.
Prideful Death – the ultimate embodiment of decay and sin.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Each boss embodies a human vice—sorrow, rage, gluttony, lust, pride, and more—with attack patterns and phases themed around their sin. Learn them, punish their openings, and drag their corruption into the light.
------------------------------------------------------------------
80+ PERKS THAT REACT TO HOW YOU PLAY
Your build is more than just “more damage”. Perks in this game respond to your actions and the current combat situation:
Raise survivability with shields, healing, and clutch life-saving effects.
Unlock new firing modes and shot patterns for your weapons.
Modify damage based on movement, aggression, positioning, and other run conditions.
Stack synergies and turn a simple gun into a full-on exorcism engine.
------------------------------------------------------------------
With each run you’ll discover new perk combinations and interactions—from subtle boosts to absolutely broken builds.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A DARK YET STYLIZED NEON CITY
Wander through a modern city that’s both grim and stylized:
High contrast visuals with saturated, multicolored neon bloom.
Demonic sigils, corrupted streets, and former residents twisted into silhouettes.
A mix of urban decay and otherworldly chaos.
------------------------------------------------------------------
This isn’t realistic horror—it’s a readable, vivid bullet-hell arena built for VR.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Played on my Meta Quest 2 @MatureContent
A VR roguelike bullet hell game is a combination that I hadn't ever thought about before, but turns out to work really well. This is in many ways very similar to other games in this genre, with different buffs to choose from after every round, different difficulties you can play at and with just lots of things to shoot at. Where this game is a bit different though, beside just being VR, is that the large hordes of enemies we usually see in this genre, are here replaced with boss battles. Here you go through waves of bosses and when it comes to crowd control it is against whatever ability the boss you are fighting is trying to attack you with. Another place where this game has its own take on this, is where you in most roguelike games choose between different heroes, you here choose between different weapons. There is a total of 5 different weapon types to choose from, with each weapon being unique from the others. The available weapon choices are: (Every weapon variant is dual wielded.)

The neon saber, which is a melee weapon.
The radiator, which is a laser weapon.
The lighter, which is a pistol with fire damage.
The accumulator, which is a heavy machine gun.
The icicle, which is a rapid fire freeze weapon.
My favorite was the accumulator, as it seemed to do the most damage and was the easiest to use. The neon sabers were by far the worst, as I just couldn't get them to work correctly. They were killing my wrists and didn't seem to do any damage at all. This is most likely just due to user error though. This is the first VR roguelike bullet hell game I have played and I liked it. This genre works really well in VR. I also think the price is fair enough, most VR titles are priced much higher than the 10 bucks they ask. That said, I received a review copy of this game, so my opinion on the price is irrelevant since I didn't pay anything. I do still recommend it though. ————————————————————————————— Help me out by following my Curator, I’d really appreciate it!!
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/ByoUG9rUXJ4 This is a neutral recommendation. I'll be honest, this isn't exactly my cup of tea. Others may enjoy it more than I do. But I'll give you my thoughts and you can make up your own mind. I do think the price is too high given what's here. I think the sale price of 50% off should be the normal price. It's a boss rush bullet hell arena FPS. I didn't get very far, as the game is challenging. You have to keep your head on a swivel. You can pick from different weapons. You basically circle the boss, avoiding projectiles or shooting them down. You get near candles to reload or do special attack damage. You can also dash. That's my biggest problem with the game though. The dash doesn't seem to serve its purpose. I dashed into damage several times. It seems you don't avoid damage if the projectiles are next to you, only if they're coming towards you. However, running away seems to be just as good at that point. So I don't get it. Maybe I did it wrong. It also seemed like there wasn't enough variety between the different boss fights. They shoot different projectiles, but at that point, you're just really looking at the projectiles and trying to decide whether you need to stay put, run away, or shoot it down. It doesn't really vary from that or at least, not that I could see. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 5090, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You can play comfortably seated. Rate ?/10. I didn't get far enough in the game to properly score it.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program.
A decent VR game with some problems, the visuals are appealing even if the bloom is a bit overdone. Though that seems to be the art style, some graphic options to lower the intensity or adjust other settings would be helpful in this, or other cases. I see the recent update added some variety to the bosses (I've tried so far) but the enemy projectiles could use some variety in terms of the shapes and effect they have, maybe something other than orbs. The guns also have no haptic feedback on my quest 3 controllers, having unique vibrations for each weapon would help them feel more distinct. A laser sight option would also help quite a bit. The movement is meant to only be in a circle but it could be made to be smoother, sometimes if i'm not holding left or right directly then I stop moving, interrupting the flow of the gameplay greatly. Grabbing ammo could be a bit easier and is also a bit inconsistent, it doesn't seem to happen every time I pass near the drops, making me have to backtrack for it a lot. And as I see in another review, having the sword be completely motion controlled would make them more fun to use, using the trigger with specific timing is a bit odd. The music is good but the voice lines (Which I assume is AI generated) is not clear at times and a bit distorted. With all of that being said, I think this game could be made better with some patches and maybe some more weapons, though I do like the concepts for the current weapons and the additions that were made to them. I'll update this review if patches are made or I feel I need to add things as I put more playtime in, but seeing new vr games try to get creative like this is always nice to see. Edit: Saw a patch not too long after my review, saw that a few things I mentioned were fixed. The weapons feel better and more distinct haptics, each unique from one another. The sword no longer requires the trigger, though I do find it fairly sensitive in triggering the attack, it should require more force or perhaps have an option to adjust the amount of force needed to trigger it. Its damage does feel a bit low as well but otherwise the recent update does make the sword feel better to use than before. The ammo pickup seemed to trigger a bit better as well but still seemed somewhat inconsistent, I've found that moving around often times puts distance between myself and the candles (Ammo pickups) which makes me unable to grab it without physically moving closer (Likely a result of me playing standing and stepping and turning at times, since the game isn't designed with real world movement in mind.) The bosses do seem to have more variety to their firing patterns too from what I've seen. It's good to see a vr game actually get updates to fix itself after release, and a dev that actually listens to feedback.
Really cool game. I'm a big fan of roguelikes, but in VR it's hard to find a good example of this genre that lives up to expectations, that brings those action feelings from PC/console versions into the VR world. But this game handles it perfectly. There are no teleports — we just move around in a circle and enjoy the shooting. So far I've only unlocked two weapons, pistols and ice SMGs, but I can already see that they completely change the gameplay and combat approach — I want to unlock the rest as soon as possible. There's a huge number of perks — after two hours of playing, I'm still finding new options and combinations. The music and graphics are just the cherry on top — they combine really well. During enrage, the bosses actually give me goosebumps. As for downsides, I'd like more bosses. I understand there are the main sins with reskins, but sometimes special bosses appear under special conditions — not sure if I've seen them all. 9/10 — I want more content.
I'm not sure I understand how to beat the bosses in Demon Street. I like the visuals and music... but I have yet to beat any level without failure. I've done the tutorial a few times and I'm missing something! Happy to change my review if I hear something I'm being dumb about.
Pretty simple concept but really well executed. The neon city vibe and soundtrack fit perfectly with the gameplay!
The atmosphere in this game is fantastic. The neon-lit environments, music, and enemy designs all come together to create a really distinct vibe. On top of that, the gameplay itself is tight and challenging in a good way. Every boss fight feels like a real test of skill.
This is an incredibly interesting and unique experience for a VR game. It’s a full-blown bullet hell where you start feeling the rhythm of the combat. Gameplay: Perk synergy is executed perfectly. Once you find the right combo, the movement and shooting turn into an art form. Feel: One of the most unique VR titles right now. It’s challenging and intense, but incredibly rewarding.
