I like this game I just wish i was better at it
Eu nunca esperei ver algo ao estilo de HRtP em pleno 2021, uma grata surpresa eu diria
DISCLAIMER: I received a key to bug test this game a few days before release. Short Version: If you like Touhou 1, then you'll probably like this game. Long Version: Demon Slayer Akagi is a bullet-hell breakout arcade game where you control Akagi in her quest to free girls from the control of a demon. The core gameplay revolves around propelling a magic ball onto tiles to slowly break them down, but, unlike many Breakout-like games, the tiles will shoot back at you, and you will have to avoid those in addition to your own ball. Additionally, there is no penalty for missing your ball, so you can drop the ball as necessary to avoid incoming projectiles. Just make sure that you don't get hit by it yourself, since it counts as a projectile. The game has 6 stages that progressively get more difficult, each with their own new tile-types, bosses, and gimmicks. While the game gets brutal at times, you have infinite continues, so, unless you are going for 1cc, you will not need to worry about losing progress upon death. Additionally, the game has checkpoints, so, even when going for 1cc, you can restart from the beginning of a stage if you fail it. You have 3 powers at your disposal: an offensive charge shot, an evasive dash, and a defensive teleport. I personally find the teleport to be the most effective, but all of the powers are useful if played right. Each attack also has a super-charged version of it, which essentially acts as a "bomb" in shoot-em-up games, but they can only be used a limited number of times per life, so they should be used sparingly. Now, is the game good? I would say so. The game's fairly polished, the art style's cute, the music's good, and the gameplay is generally fun and engaging overall. The targeting system does trivialize a few of the bosses, as you can stand close to the boss and deal massive damage by ricocheting the ball back and forth, but the stages and the other bosses will generally keep you on your toes throughout the game, even more-so on the harder difficulties. I would recommend this to anyone seeking to find something similar to Touhou 1, anyone looking for a short-but-sweet experience, or anyone wanting a challenge.

A veces sólo quiero jugar algo sencillo. Me lo pasé bonito, muchísimas gracias
nice take on classic touhou this game has
muy bueno
Heyo Cookie. I have to congratulate and thank you mates for this Creation. The true Sequel to HRtP, hahahah, yeah overused obvious Joke. Alright, the Graphics are wonderful, really, Trist just rules, I enjoy her Works a lot. Cute Girls, with a non-humanoid Character as the Last Boss, nice, it's neat to also have cool Monsters too, ya know. Which is non-existent at all in many Games spiritually related to Touhou, either Fan or Original Games. T__T Good Myoozik, I certainly enjoy it. And for some weird reason, hearing the Title Screen Theme...somehow reminds me of the Nutshack's by Chair, no reason, it just does, odd. I swear I want a rip of that Song with the Nutshcak in it instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Narration, simple, it's not something that has high standards for itself, letting the Gameplay shine more and yet it still does a nice job, most notorious element are the Dialogues depending on the Difficulty. It's just BRILLIANT ! Akagi is weak on Normal and damn savage on Lunatic, fricking genius. (It inspires me too actually) The Gameplay, excellent. Well the only nitpick I could have is the size of the Hitbox, a bit big but it has been an Issue mainly on some Challenges. Which are fun, also frustrating but ya know, gotta make the Entertainment last, right ? Levels get harder when you increase the Difficulty, the Bosses, not so much, most of them don't have exclusive Attacks to Hard or Lunatic Modes, missed Opportunity, cuz that's always a Motivation Factor to try harder. (I really miss when the SpellCards were different starting from Hard Mode in EoSD, ZUN NEVER did it again except for a very few of them throughout the Series, it's just an obvious thing for me to have different enough Bullet Patterns for Hard and Lunatic Modes...which of course requires more Work than just increasing the Bullet Density and swaping the Colors or the Bullets themselves...aah forget my rambling) AND the Game also seems to be fun to speedrun since you can time attack the Levels in Practice. Yeah I wanna speedrun, will try someday after having 1cc'd Lunatic Mode, still not done. In Conclusion, Demon Slayer Akagi owns, mate. Really if you feel nostalgic for HRtP, just play Akagi instead, you'll have a better time, trust me. Anyway have a nice day folks.
.
A fun arcade style game that has plenty of replay value. There's a lot of smart additions to the old "Touhou 1" formula like a targeting system in exchange for less points.
Adorable game with addicting gameplay, cute art and baller soundtrack. It's basically Touhou 1 with a couple more mechanics that actually make it very fun. All in all, really solid. Would recommend to anyone.
