Dev may get a little offended by mentioning it but I will anyway since it's a great combination. Demon Hearts is basically a blend of They Bleed Pixels, Electronic Super Joy and Super Meat boy. Games like this require responsive controls and upbeat soundtracks, thankfully it provides both. 50 odd levels and secret areas to discover, while the hub system makes backtracking a breeze. Supports remapping of controls and 4k+ screen resolutions via the unity launcher. Price may seem high but if looking for your next rage inducing platformer, look no further. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyezyUnuYiM If you would like to know more, just ask. :)
I thought I would enjoy this game but the level design felt really lame to me. The uninspired art style and boring game mechanics quickly turned me off from what seemed like a decent platformer. I don't really feel like it was hard so much as tedious and unrewarding. I'll pass on this one.
Gameplay Footage and Video First Impressions: http://youtu.be/m-3umxPciRs Summary: For hardcore speedrunner fans, this may be up your alley, but there are better options for those looking for games in the genre. While it's got a uniquish artstyle, the gameplay and controls feel a little bit off. In particular, you'll feel like you're getting stuck on ledges at times, and some of the jumps do take a level of precision that may be asking for too much. The music is the highlight here as it keeps the high energy gameplay going, and it's definitely a cool fact that the game was developed by one person. seemingly But at the cost of 10 dollars, I can't recommend it because the game just lacks compared to other games like JumpJet Rex for the cost versus return. For those who want a challenge. Lists: +:

Great Music Selection, even if some of the music is things that we have heard before in a remixed format.
They do add a little bit of variety, and the boss battle while still focusing on platforming was nice.
The retro style does work for some of the pixel work.
Have to give the developer credit for doing this on his own.
-:

The controls feel a little bit off. There's a bit of play at times, and some of the precision. In particular, a lot of times where I felt like the jumps were just too tricky or you seemed to get caught on wall edges a bit.
Being honest....there's not anything specific that stands out here in the end.
Certain levels feel like that they don't take advantage of the speedrunner genre.
Enemy designs could use a bit more design work put into it.
喜加一后发现这游戏合成的表情背景非常好看(值钱)!
A "hard platformer" as made by somebody who doesn't understand how to make a fun platformer hard, rather than just making sure there are a lot of tedius deaths and time limits that force you to rush thru plain and boring levels. I Wanna Be the Guy is still free and has far more character than this game.
Yet another edgy platformer for the sake of being edgy. In fact this is garbage, ignore it and move on.
Stylized graphics. Challenging puzzles. Great controls. This is Indie development at its best! Can't wait to stop writing this review and play some more.
Demon Hearts-- it's a fast paced precision platformer, that wears its inspirations on its sleeves, it takes all the best lesons learned from platformers of recent years and jam packs them into 50ish levels. The controls are simple and the gameplay is deep without being too complex. There is no doubt that you should pick this hidden gem up, as it's only $10, especially if you're a fan of games like, Super Meat Boy, I wanna be the Guy, Wings of Vi, etc.
I really like the upbeat soundtrack to add into the puzzle platformer mood of things. I also like that you have a death button to maintain your momentum, if you happen to mess up. This adds a cool effect for people who are trying to speed run through the game and get the fastest time. The fact that each of the unlockable characters have their own unique playstyle, which makes it challaneging. and so much more!
