i saw you gaming today you were going outside the playable area i tried to play with you but you were gaming too hard you had a rancid stench but that didn't stop me from trying
needed to look at the walkthru a couple times to get through this but it was fun and interesting. Cool to see a concept like this come out of the Provoker band. Really fits the lore and vibe they have created.

Maybe this stands better or is more interesting if you're a fan of their music, but I'm coming at this without that context. Ultimately, this is a pretty solid time, with very strong atmosphere and music. On the gameplay front, it leaves a lot to be desired. There's moments with very poor communication to the player (first boss puzzle was very janky to actually solve, even though I intellectually understood the solution before a walkthrough), and I sequence broke extremely hard on the second character so I missed a large portion of levels. If you rise above the chaff of indie horror, typically that is because there's a pretty interesting core mechanic you're playing with, bogged down by finer details. The opposite is the case here, this game is notable because the atmosphere is pretty well made, huge fan of the maw (iykyk), but I actually think the rest of the package is quite weak. None of the puzzles or gameplay mechanics are particularly interesting or engaging. Worth your time, worth a price even, but I was a little disappointed because I think this isn't entirely far from being something truly great. Clearly there's talent.
My boys making great stuff again. Give us moreeee
Quase positivo
Took me way too long to find this as a Provoker and gaming fan.
"DEMON COMPASS" is a retro third person adventure game with a dark/horror theme, meant to ape the low poly adventure games from the late 1990's early 2000's, which it does an okay job of, but we must sort of ask why a game has been made to look bad on purpose. Regardless, you do get some decent game for the price (hard to argue with). Mostly this is designed to advertise a band, and as always when the primary purpose of any game is not to be a game, that's problematic. Visually, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 13 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Great game, can't wait for new album
