Dementium: The Ward

Clásico de terror, al estilo de Resident Evil y Silent Hill. Todo en su medida justa; tanto enemigos y armas, como los jefes. Buena historia.

I came back to this one out of nostalgia, I originally played this gem on the Nintendo DS, and I'm happy to say that [b]Atooi[/b] nailed this. The port feels faithful to the original in all the right ways. [b]The Good:[/b] - Graphics are upscaled and refreshed while staying true to the original NDS game. - CRT filters and original shaders are included ideal for achieving that NDS like hardware nostalgia. - Controller support is polished and well implemented. - Story is untouched everything is legitimate to the original NDS release. - Achievements are straightforward and unlock naturally as you progress. [b]The Bad:[/b] - The notepad feature from the NDS version is gone honestly that was genuinely useful for keeping track of clues, and its absence is truly felt (It's a bummer since this game is actually deck verified). - Steam Deck players beware: the default trackpad aim setting is rough. Stick aiming works great, but the trackpads could use some attention. -There is a glitch on the 4th Floor (West Building) where one of the most important doors disappears entirely the door model is invisible but the game still registers it as interactable, showing the "E - Open" prompt against a blank wall. It's disorienting and worth flagging before you get stuck wondering if you're going crazy. ([b]Atooi[/b] please review this for new update!) - If you played the NDS original, this is a solid trip back to The Ward. Just keep the Steam Deck control quirks in mind before diving in. I played this on my Steam Deck, GPD Win Max 2, and my 3060OC/3700x/32GB/ Setup. It ran smooth as butter.

That was scary. The game takes around 2-3h to beat if you are not a ♥♥♥♥♥. Though it has an incredible tension created with music environment and sound. Funniest thing is Dementium is a Nintendo DS horror that is more scary than newest blockbuster AAA horror called RE9. One thing that is big downside are rooms most of doors are just locked and if are open rooms are very similar which is not really a bad thing considering how long does it take to beat the game. This was probably in Top 3 DS horror games. Play on hard cause normal is too easy I died ONE time and it was on last boss. 8/10 short experience for a horror game but buy it on sale cause it’s too short to justify the price.

This game is great. Loved playing on the DS. Played it a lot. I didn't need achievements to keep playing it. I love playing it so much I even bought the 3DS version. In that version they fixed glitches. They, the devs, even slow the running speed in the 3DS (which I wasn't happy about). I think I may know why the change of the running speed. First, it was because I found away to skip half the level which allows you to get the chainsaw early. Which made saving up on ammo easy (I have a video of this on my YouTube vidoe). My second thought on why they changed the running speed, is to add intense fright. The steam version is definitely the 3DS version. I can tell. The running speed gives it away. The music is great. It's a short game but that's alright. I do recommend it.

To be completely honest, I played this game on the Nintendo DS a long time ago (2007). I liked it because it reminded me a lot of Silent Hill games, and I've always enjoyed survival horror games. This game was a rare gem back then. I bought it because I had a lot of affection for it when I played it. Now I bought it on PC, relived my nostalgia, and now it's on my Steam!

Dementium è un gioco uscito inizialmente sul DS e che ritorna in questo porting davvero fatto bene. Il gioco in se per se dovete capire che proviene dal DS e non essendo un platform o uno gioco nintendo classico, ma essendo un survival horror, veniva limitato molto da quello che i movimenti potevano offrire su un ds, quindi questo porting risulta MOLTO sempliciotto nelle sue meccaniche a partire dalle ambientazioni molto ripetitive ma che io non ho disprezzato per nulla fino ad arrivare a questo stile di shooting molto particolare, quasi assistito. Amo i survival horror fatti in questo modo con questa grana vecchia e questa grafica datata. La trama del gioco è molto più inquietante e cruenta di quello che può sembrare e il gioco si sviluppa molto ispirandosi a mio parere a giochi come silent hill e SOLO PER ALCUNE COSE DI TRAMA manhunt 2. Consiglio

Eu sei que algumas pessoas vão achar esse jogo nada demais, que é confuso e sem história, mas acho que ele tem um charme que faz ele ser diferente de jogos de terror indie atuais. Ele dá uma claustrofobia enorme com seus corredores apertados e repetitivos e uma escuridão que gela a espinha com uma aflição em tentar acertar os inimigos sem a sua lanterna. Um jogo que CLARAMENTE foi feito pra um experiência em portáteis da época, por ser um jogo de nintendo ds. recebeu muitos elogios pelos seus gráficos impressionantes pro console que hoje em dia não passam do aceitável com uma gameplay mediana. Na sua época foi o melhor jogo de terror do console por não possuir tantos do estilo para ele, ressalva de alguns jogos japoneses que nunca foram localizados. É uma experiência que é apenas pra quem tem um carinho e já jogou ele alguma vez no console, fora isso, ele não é nada excepcional. Eu adoro o jogo, se você gosta da temática estilo silent hill e resident evil, acho que gostaria também. pra resumir, acho que vale a pena em uma promoção, que foi também o meu caso.
